If you are getting married at Secrets Maroma, we HIGHLY recommend Juan Navarro as your photographer. We upgraded our package and also did a TTD (trash the dress) photo shoot the following day. Our pictures are amazing. We couldn't be happier. There were so many beautiful pictures if was hard to choose! Not such a bad thing thought huh!!!! He and his assistant were very professional and talented AND AFFORDABLE. We are so pleased with everything. Also, DJ MANIA was fantastic!!!! Great music. Kept everyone dancing. NO CHEESY music. It was great. We even requested a song that they didn't have and they were able to use WiFi and download it so it could be played. They rocked!

We are considering doing the Bon Fire option for our rehearsal dinner. Does anyone know any details about this or have they done this themselves?

Does anyone know any details about the rehearsal dinner Bon Fire option at Secrets Maroma? We are considering it, but Cecelia didn't offer too many details so far in her email... Just curious about the food, length, seating, etc.

We decided to use the spa courtyard because it is more private and a good size for the number of people we are having. We are having 33 so far. Also, you get to walk in over a bridge that is over the spa fountain area. Very cute and we are also getting the DJ with the light and sound system and I think it will look really awesome against the stone walls back there.

We did our site visit the 1st week of February. It was amazing and I strongly recommend it so that you have a better idea of the flow of the resort and can choose your flowers and cake and food. We did get a discount to stay at the resort and met with Cecelia for about an hour. She has a book of all of your flower and cake and table options. I feel much better now about our decision. I also met with Juan Navarro photographer and saw some of his work. It was very good and affordable so we have upgraded our package to package 4 and are also doing a Trash the Dress shoot the day after the wedding. We are also using DJ mania that Cecelia recommended. I have talked to lots of people on here about their services and have heard nothing but good things. The good thing about using these vendors is that you do not have to pay for them to come to the resort like you do with outside vendors.

I am getting married at Secrets Maroma June 10, 2010. We are doing our site visit Feb 3rd-5th. We are really unsure about where to do the reception because of the heat and humidity during the summer. Any suggestions would be helpful. We currently have 33 people booked. We want someplace that feels intimate so everyone feels comfortable and dances all night long! ALL suggestions are much appreciated!

Getting married June 10, 2010 at Secrets Maroma. What is the best time to have our ceremony start? We are having the cocktail hour and reception afterwards and want to have plenty of sun light for pictures. We plan on taking pictures of just the two of us and with family between the ceremony and cocktail hour.

I am planning on Isla Mujeres Palace resort for my wedding June 2010. Your post was so helpful! I love all of your ideas so much that I think that I might try and recreate many of them! I especially liked your fans for the ceremony! Thank you so much for the amazing post! You are a life saver!

My fiance and I are considering Isla Mujeres Palace resort for our wedding. It is at the top of our list, but we were concerned that there wouldn't be enough entertainment being such a small resort. Half of our guests will be there for a full 7 days, and the other half for 4 days. Did you find that you had plenty to do on the days other than the wedding? Also, did the "daytrippers" from Cancun bother you or make the resort feel too crowded. From the pictures and website it looks like there is only one pool and one restaurant. By the way, thank you for your post! Great information! Oh, and one more question, which package did you choose? Just curious if you were happy with it... Thanks!
