  1. All, This is a long story but read below for my complaint with the BBB. you can contact me directly if you have any specific questions. My wedding video from Sep 09 is not yet complete after 8 months. I've called and emailed numerous times and I always get the same excuse about the economy. Since he caused my wedding to start late by showing up almost an hour late, he promised to have it to me ASAP after the wedding. In Oct, he said it would be ready before Christmas, on Dec 19th, said it would be ready in Feb at the latest, and then on Jan 31st, my video was in line #24 but he would put it ahead. On March 18th, told my husband that we were all of the sudden #28 in line but he'd move it ahead. On March 23, he told my wedding planner that "I have a few post wedding edits that I have to work on personally but I will bump Mia and Joseph's wedding to fifth on my personal workload." Also in Jan, he tried to get out of it by trying to make me sign a form for "free" raw footage video, which according to my lawyer, is a scam. By signing for this "free" form, I would have released him of providing me anything further. The form states: "The studio is under no further obligation to the client once raw footage is turned over to the client." I've already paid for the service in full before Sept and now he's trying to get out of providing me the video. I have no faith that he's actually working on my video at all and will need to get my lawyer involved once I've filed this complaint.

  3. Help! I'm getting married on Tuesday, September 8th and there's currently 60% chance of rain. We're getting married on a private estate but it's still outside. We also have the bamboo canopy's for each of the dinner tables so there's no cover. Has anyone had to re-arrange at the last minute? I know that I can probably get a tent but that's not how I wanted it to look...Any ideas of what you've done is much appreciated!
  4. Yes, I'm using votive candles throughout along with some taller vases full of orchids that I'm ordering from proflowers. Sorry I haven't responded back to your previous email but you're welcome to them if you'd like. We'll have to work out the details on how you would get them though.
  5. I found the perfect lights that are way too easy! I originally bought the 3 prong lights from lunabazzar but I didn't think they gave much light, and they were also $4 a piece. So after reviewing all of your suggestions, I went to wal-mart to do some searching. If you go the light bulb section, they have these round lights called "tap" lights. They are just battery lights that you just need to push down and the light turns on. They are big so there's nothing you really need to do but put them in the lanterns. I have 12' inch lanterns so it works perfectly.
  6. Ok, here is the centerpiece and the bouquet that Della is doing for me! Flowers.doc
  7. Hey all, I'm using Della as my florist. I'm getting married in 3 weeks so I'll let y'all know how they turned out. The florist that my wedidng coordinator suggested was WAY too expensive so I called around and Della said she'd do it for 1/2 the price. If I knew how to post pictures on here, I'd show you the centerpieces so let me know if you know how!
  8. Thanks Heather! I was just about to post this website myself. Ladies, I've been searching for wedding stuff for a year and have found multiple sites but just found this site and, it's great! Save on Crafts, Wedding Supplies, Flowers, Tulle, Lights, Decorations & Discount Craft Supplies Save-on-crafts I just realized that I paid a lot more than I needed to for many things that I've already bought.
  9. Does anyone know where I can find these? I got one from lunabazaar but it's not very bright.
  10. Hey Ladies, I'm shipping a bunch of stuff to Maui for my September 8th wedding. If anyone is getting married there in September, please let me know if you want anything from my wedding so that I can ask my wedding coordinator to put it in a box after the wedding. You'll have to pick it up at the Wailea marriott though...I'll be there through the 16th. Right now, I think I'll have some vases, candles, orange paper lanterns, orange parasols, tea light candle holders, etc...You can email me and I'll give you the list of things as I finalize my to-do list this weekend. Happy wedding planning!
  11. I think both hotels are great but you have to also keep in mind the location. The marriott is located on the south side of the island, which is generally known for better weather (as if weather could ever be "not good" in Hawaii).
  12. I would give them an idea of what you want and ask them to price it out for you before you decide to hire them. My WC's website had packages for $10K or so but that's not even close to what I ended up paying. I would also get an idea of how many sub-vendors they have. They obviously won't tell you who they use for the photographer, florist, etc...but they should be able to give you the number of choices you'll have to select from. My WC only offered me one florist and a few photographers so I ended up having to do all my own research. Send me a seperate email if you need further help deciding. Good luck!
  13. I'm getting married on a private estate and having the reception there. If I could do it all over again, I'd definitely pick the seawatch because the cost is so much more than I ever expected. They charge you for things you wouldn't even think about...Staff to set up and clean up - $750, Rental delivery - $200, rubbish removal fee -$175...This is all on top of paying the caterer seperately and 20% of the entire bill to my wedding coordinator.
  14. That's awesome that some of you were able to stay within that budget. I had that in mind when I first started planning but it's out of control! I only have a month before I get married to it's too late to change coordinators but I'd be very careful who you select... My wedding of 25 is costing more than if I were to have a 350 people wedding here in Texas, which doesn't include travel costs.
  15. I haven't heard of them but I didn't end up choosing who my wc recommended...I decided to do my own research and found someone from another island.
  16. Hello, I'm Mia. I'm getting married on Sep 8, 09 in Maui, Hawaii!
