  1. Thank you kindly. I would also just like to mention (sorry I forgot to in my post) please check my blog often as well! I tend to post random thoughts, updates for clients, promotions etc. M.D.R Photography Thank you all!
  2. I agree with many of the posts here. . . 8 hours seems to be an ideal amount of time. In saying this, some photographers don't advertise hourly rates or time packages. If you are concerned about your time limitations, I would suggest asking around for photogs that simply offer "coverage of your day".
  3. Very good questions! I would also include: What form(s) of payment do you accept (and in what currency)? Under what circumstances can my deposit be refunded? Under what circumstances can you, the photographer, cancel a booking? In the event that you need to cancel a booking, how much notice will you give me? . . .That's all I can think of for now. I find a lot of people skip over the money part of questioning! I hope those can help. Feel free to email me anytime to ask some questions about your photographer or DW Photography in general. Take care all, Myles D. Rusak
  4. Good Day Everyone! Wow, it does feel bizarre to be on this end of the forum! BDWF was by far the best resource for my wife and me when we were getting married a little over one year ago. Since then, we've returned from our two year stay in England AND we've had our first child! A beautiful baby Girl named Aloura. Now then, my story. . . Years ago in Ontario I was the sole proprietor of MDR Photography; a professional photography company with expertise in Wedding and Portrait photography. When my wife and I moved to England I did close it down as it would have been too difficult to manage our move and a business. While in England we heard the devastating news that a fire swept through our storage facility where a lot of my camera gear and all of my digital back-ups resided. As such, I've lost my portfolio. Sarah and I have moved back to Canada and I have purchased new gear (upgrades as well!) and based out of Calgary, Alberta, I have reopened the doors of MDR Photography. For the next few months I am offering very affordable prices in order to rebuild my portfolio. I should also mention that all prices on my website are in Canadian dollars. Please, I encourage you all to visit my site MDR Photography weddings and portraits in Calgary, Alberta. Destination Weddings by Myles D. Rusak if you are looking for a DW Photographer. I'm more than willing to work with you to make sure that not only are you receiving the absolute best photos for your budget, but I will also make sure that you don't have to worry about a thing in the process! I've been through this, I know how stressful it can be to select a DW Photographer and with so many to choose from. . .I do understand! Please, feel free to email me with any questions. In the mean time, take a look at my site and I do hope to hear from you! Thank you all so much for your support in rebuilding my business. I look forward to sharing in all of your precious memories! Personal regards, Myles D. Rusak
  5. Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I'm actually supposed to post in this section as I am now officially a vender! But I have a warning message telling me that I should. . .so who am I to argue with that! My wife and I were long time subscribers to this forum and in every way it got us through our destination wedding. Tammy actually ended up being our travel agent and made life 110% easier (thank you again Tammy!) So, I am now back after a long hiatus to the DW Photography business. I have posted in the marketplace so if you're interested, please wander on over there. Thank you all again, it's great to be back and welcomed by such a wonderful community. Myles D. Rusak
  6. Hello BDWF! Wow, it is truly great to be back here. This forum was probably the most useful resource when my wife and I were getting married. And now here I am, honoured to be posting on the other end of things and possibly helping out all of those Brides & Grooms out there. So here's my story. My name is Myles D. Rusak - Photographer and owner of MDR Photography. My company existed years ago in Ontario, Canada but I did shut its doors when my beautiful wife and I decided to move overseas to see the world. We were blessed with our little girl Aloura (who is now two months old and growing like a weed!) and she has inspired us to return to our home of Canada. Now back in Calgary, Alberta I have decided to re-open MDR Photography and get back enjoying what I love the most. But there was a problem! While away our storage facility burnt to the ground. . .inside it. . . a lot of my photography gear, backups and essentially, my portfolio. I have since replaced my gear (and upgraded it!) but alas, my portfolio is lost to the ages. . .which truly hurts me deeply. But, like all things. . this too shall pass. As such, I am now offering extremely low prices in order to rebuild my portfolio to the wonderful display it once was. Please, if you are looking for a great DW Photographer, visit MDR Photography - Weddings and Portraits in Calgary, Alberta - Destination Weddings by Myles D. Rusak I really do look forward to working with you to make your day the most memorable of your life.
