  1. We had a mariachi band at our wedding. They played for two hours before the ceremony and after the ceremony. They also played our exit song, which was Marcha Nupcial. This is what I did: I went to Amazon.com and under MP3 downloads and did a search for mariachi wedding music. You can listen to a few songs on there. If you need help, I can provide you with my wedding song list that I put together for the the Mariachis.

  2. We also got the premier package, but we didn't have a bridal party. DH and I headed out to LC at noon. Once there, we got massages, relaxed in the jacuzzi and then started to get ready. It was really nice to be able to head out early and just relax before the big event. Kelley made sure we stayed on track so we wouldnt run late....you kinda lose track of time there! As for mosquitos, no one had mosquito bites. We took bug spray but didnt end up using it at all.

  3. We are finally back from PV and I have nothing but great things to say about LC!! Our wedding was on May 9th, and I have tosay that Kelley went above and beyond...everything was beyond my wildest dreams...it was much more than I had expected!! And the whole family cannot stop raving about the place, especially the food..lol!

Congratulations Mrs. Stolp!!!! I cant wait to see your pictures! We too had Nate as our photographer and he was the best! He scared me afew times doing his wild antics to capture a picture! We cant wait for our pics! We will be stalking his blog everyday!!!

I have to figure out how to attach pictures on here!! ARGH!!!!!

  4. I was in PV two years ago and will be going back for my wedding this Thursday and i can honestly tell you that we have never had any problems or encountered any bad expiriences while there. Of course, you should always take the usual precautions when you are on vacation. We would walk back to out hotel at like 2 or 3 in the morning with no worries. I think what you are hearing about is in more rural areas of Mex.

  5. I tried using glue made for glass....but that didn't work. I ended up using a hot glue gun to glue the back glass pane, took out the third glass pane, and hot glued the second glass pane. I re-inserted the first glass pane...no glue. I did a test using colored sand i purchased and it didn't leak....hopefully it will work once I use it for the actual ceremony...lol!

  6. We were going to do the legal ceremony as well and changed our minds last week. We're actually going tomorrow to city hall to get legally married. There were several factors that influenced our decision to do this. First one was the fact that we had to go to LC offices at 730am...we are not morning people...lol. Second was the fact that we would have to pay at home a $600 translation fee for the marriage certificate, on top of already paying about $500 to have a legal ceremony in Mexico. We could of had the marriage license translated in MX for less, but then we run the risk of it not being accepted in our state in still having to pay their fee for translation. So we decided to save and get legally wed at home for $40...lol.

  7. I had my LASIK surgery about 11 years ago. My eye sight was so bad that I think I could have been considered legally blind. It was the BEST thing I did for myself. Eleven years ago it was still pretty expensive....I think I paid about $5,000 for both. Now you can get it for less than $1,500 in some places. I've also heard they have advanced in the way the procedure is done, meaning that you have less side effects. One of my side effects is that my eyes are really sensitive to the sun....so I HAVE to wear sunglasses everythime I am outdoors. So with the wedding comig up...I'm worried that the sun will be getting in my eyes...and I don't think that I want to wear sunglasses during the ceremony. Another thing is that I've noticed that I've started to squint when I'm driving at night. I'm going to get my eyes checked soon to see if they have changed since my surgery.

ldeavila is getting married at the same location as me, ONE day before I am. If she agreed she could leave him with our WC and I could send him on to the next lucky lady :) :) :) I get back on the 15th of May
I am totally on board with this idea!

I booked the Platinum..or "premiere" package. Did you book the same one? Or one of the other packages?
Aha!!! Mystery solved! LOL! Yes, I booked the middle package ( i think its called the Paradise package). But we might upgrade to the Premiere package because we are havig more people than we originally anticipated. I wonder if we can still keep the same timeline. I think I'd rather have the ceremony earlier....

I was looking a little closer to the time line for the wedding and when you break it all down.. it doesnt seem like there is enough time.

    Wedding starts at 6:15
Cocktail hour from 6:30 to 7:30
    Then dinner, toasts, cake cutting
    Then you leave by 10:30

It just doesnt seem like a lot of time

Do you/ or did you feel like there was enough time?
I too was concerned about not havign enough time. I am having the mariachi band play and was concerned about the timeline so I email Kelley and this is her response:
I would love to be able to provide you with a timeline. Can you first give me a better idea of how many guests we are working with. The mode of transportation affects the timeline. So, for instance, if you take a Sailboat, you leave the marina at 2:30 pm…. If you take the faster boat, you leave the main marina terminal at 4:00 pm….. Ceremony, initially in both cases is at 5:30 pm – and dinner starts around 6:45pm……

With the mariachis, I would have them start probably a little after the boat arrives, give your guests a moment to use the bathroom if they need to and freshen up, then start them. So they would play before the ceremony, after the ceremony and into dinner. Does this helphuh.gif

Ceremony then usually lasts 15 minutes…..
