  1. Hi Girls, I honestly have no idea what the 'gala dinner set-up' includes. Yahimara referred to it a couple months ago and mentioned it would be an extra $15 CUC per person. I am thinking that this is one and the same as the private dinner charge?? Tilly, you mention your guests will have the option of lobster or chicken....are you paying the extra $25 per person then? When does the resort need to know who is having what? And what is this about an $8 per person charge for drinks at the private reception I haven't heard a word about that!
  2. You're not nuts, I say to each his own too. As a superstitious Irish girl, I wouldn't dare let my FI see me before the ceremony, but I can understand wanting to know for sure he is going to love the dress! I won't even show mine the picture of my change-into dress

Do they have nice decoration for the ceremony?? I would love to see pics!!!! Can wait to hear about a wedding that took place at Iberostar Laguna Azul Mags Mags, you can see plenty of pics on the Iberostar Laguna Azul Facebook site! There are pics from the first weddings and tons of the resort, inside and out. It's safe to say that the 'gazebo' (more of an archway) is pretty sad looking, hopefully it will be better by April!!
  4. Hello Fellow ILA bride! Good thread, with only 96 days till we leave - not that I'm counting lol - I am most happy when I am talking about the wedding!! I am getting married on April 27 and to be honest, am having trouble getting anything finalized. Yahimara, though very nice, keeps telling me that everything can be decided closer to the date - things like table set-up, music, vows, centrepieces, the menu, which restaurant etc. I'm sure she's right, there is plenty of time, but I'd feel so much better knowing soem of these things were figured out. We are getting married at 4pm and have decided to pay the additional $40 per person for the "gala dinner set-up" (what this includes I have no idea) and the lobster dinner. Dinner will be at 7pm. We will have over 70 guests, so I believe there is only two options for us - the steakhouse or the cuban restaurant. Has everyone been given the same information? The $40 per person is in addition to the $1,000 wedding fee. We also have to pay $150 CU to have the reception during prime dinner hours. We have asked to hire a prof. cigar roller to come to the reception (in lieu of favours, it's just too much to transport) and we are flying our photographer down with us for the week. Other than that, we don't have much else planned! Flowers won't be decided until we get there and we have a creative neighbour who will be bringing decorations for the gazebo...I'll feel much more relaxed when things are finalized!
  5. They had originally told me March 2 (I ordered at the end of October) and they arrived yesterday. They are authentic dresses, Netbride orders straight from the designer, cutting out the middle man - the bridal shops. Goes to shows you how much they mark up dresses! I think I really lucked out though, my friend emailed Netbride her designer and style # for a quote and it was only about a $50 difference. I guess it just depends on the dress...
  6. My bridesmaid dresses are here! I can't say enough about Netbride and how easy the entire process it was - not to mention the fact that I saved $80 per dress. I found the dress at a bridal shop here in Ontario for $200 plus tax. I had heard about Netbride on BDW so I sent them the designer name and style number and within a day they had gotten back to me with a quote...for $87! Even with the exchange rate and duty, the dresses still only cost me around $120. As an added bonus, they came 2 months earlier than expected!
  7. Your review makes me so excited for April!! You looked gorgeous and the venue was spectacular - I really liked the suit your HUSBAND! wore and his groomsmen attire...do you mind me asking where they got them?
  8. We skipped the outer envelope too, it would have meant doubling the cost of postage to have it.
  9. I'm still undecided about what I'm wearing on my feet. Our ceremony is on the beach so high heels of any sort are out of the question and I love bare feet so I might just skip shoes altogether - after all, no one will even see my feet!
  10. Congrats! Your pictures are absolutely gorgeous, you must be so happy with them!

  15. Wondering if anyone has been able to get Yahimara to send a price list for flowers or spa services? I am curious to know what the options are for bouquets and centrepieces...Also, has anyone inquired about the ceremony wording? I'd like to know if we can supply what we would like read by the minister but I am having no luck getting info from Yahimara. Thanks!
  16. Thanks Echo! Definitely the best prices I've seen yet for travel mugs and it's just down the road!
