Okay, I moved to a new city and have few friends I can depend on to look for dresses. My bridesmaids have come with me a few times, but are busy girls. I went shopping the other day and am trying to decide between two dresses. What do you think? I am 5'10", slim, and have olive skin to give you a better idea of who would be wearing this. Okay, can someone clear this up for me. Can you only get married at the gazebo if you are staying at the palace? We are looking to stay at the tropical and have always preferred the gazebo instead of beach set-up. Can someone please clear this up for me?

I am weighing the options between a few hotels for my wedding, however it really comes down to cost for me. Could someone let me know how much extra a private reception is?

I stayed at the Barcelo Colonial/Tropical (same thing) a little over 2 years ago when it first opened. I thought it was wonderful. The air conditioned buffets were so clean and modern, not like some of the older results where the chairs for example are wooden and painted various tropical colours. I am very picky, and tend to like the more modern look of the new resorts and this place has that. The pool is so big, we brought our own blow up floaties to lie on in the pool. There is a great dock that goes out into the water and millions of fish hang out there, we often took some bread from the buffet out there. Wonderful opportunity for first time snorkelers. Also, if you like to party their disco is large and there is an upper VIP area, giving it a feel of a club in a larger city. The food was wonderful. The only negative thing I could say is that it would be wonderful if they had jacuzzi tubs in the room. Enjoy!

I am also trying to plan a wedding at the Melia, and would love any information. I am wondering is the disco is any good as we are a young group who loves to dance.

I really want to have my wedding at the Riu palace, and have all my guests stay there. However, I am the first to be married out of my friends and some are still students at University. Needless to say they are on a budget. I am working hard to find a good deal in Cabo, a place I want to visit. I see that the Santa Fe is cheaper and am considering it. I do not want to get there though and wish I had stayed at the palace or have my guests who do have money to look at it and wish they had stayed there. Has anyone been to the santa fe for their wedding and felt regret? Or does it feel like the inferior of the two. Also, can you use any of the services at the palace? Or if you stay at the palace can you use the santa fe? Or are they completely seperate just on the same property? Thank you.

I am trying to do a destination wedding, something I have wanted for a LONG time. I am finding that its pricey for my guests. What is the average cost, or how much did it cost your guests and for what hotel/destination? I am looking to see what is normal. I want to know if I am expecting too much of a deal.

I am also interested in the cupcakes....no prices posted yet. Another question I have is for all those people who had their reception in the a la carte restaurants. Did you think it was okay? I am worried that it will not seem fancy enough. I am on a strict budget, but I do not want to cut corners in the wrong places. Please tell me your honest feelings, and if you regretted it when you arrived or if you were pleasantly suprised. Thank you
