  1. November 9, 2010 is the wedding date! Just went dress shopping last weekend...there are so many beautiful dresses out there, how will I ever make up my mind...
  2. After reading through 23 pages of great suggestions, I think I have a pretty good idea of what I will purchase. Thanks everyone!!
  3. You did an amazing job! Your dresses are so gorgeous. I'm starting to think I might be able to justify getting two dresses as well.
  4. Very pretty. You must have had a fantastic time. Thanks for sharing your work!
  5. Amazing pics. Your beautiful baby girl steals the show though!!
  6. Thanks for sharing your great work! I love the elegant blue that you chose!
  7. Very nice. I think I might have to "borrow" the hairstyle pic. I love it!!
  8. You really did a great job! Everything just comes together so well. You must have the designer's eye. I feel like I have so many great ideas, but I don't know how it will all look together. Luckily I have quite a while to figure it all out, and take many ideas from all of you!!
  9. Congrats! Your dresses are gorgeous. I am hoping to splurge and have two as well. Where did you find the TTD dress??
  10. Thanks for all of the great makeup advice. I think I'm heading to Sephora tomorrow. Never tried a primer, but I think I will after all of the positive feedback...
  11. Anyone have any luck finding any aqua and pink striped ties??
  12. Thanks for the info. I think I might give it a try for the TTD session the next day...
  13. November 9, 2010 in Puerto Vallarta! It is never too early to start planning your dream wedding. I was surprised when I called to book my site and photographer that they were already booked up for most of the month. Crazy that people had already booked for a year and a half away. Glad I called and got my reservations when I did!!
  14. I second you on the question about gratuities Sam. From what I have read, gratuities are not expected but are fine to give for extra-special service. I don't completely know if that is correct, and would love to know how others handled the situation. Since the vendors are all contracted through Lindsay I don't know how we would even get a gratuity to them or if it is even necessary or customary?! Any help would be greatly appreciated...
  15. Wow Melissa! I love the table with the table runner your Mom made. Your tables are absolutely gorgeous. I think I am going to go with the wooden chairs as well. I really like the simplicity of them. I think I am going to have some beach glass on my tables too. I'm still working on designing my tables. I am going to do half of them with flower arrangements and the other half with a beach shell/glass and floating candle/orchids!
  16. Hi all! Thank you to those who replied about the flowers. I totally trust Lindsay in getting the best prices and best venders that she can get. I guess I was just being that competitive American who wants to make sure I get the best prices possible. I really wanted all orchids initially, but when I realized they would cost around $400-$450 for bouquets and centerpieces, I started looking at other options. I am going to go with a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies for myself, hot pink roses for the bridesmaids, and mixed bouquets for the centerpieces. We are going to use green hydrangeas, pink roses, stargazer lilies, casablanca lilies, a few orchids, and bear grass in them. I don't have any pics of anything similar, but I trust that Lindsay will make it beautiful. This cut the prices in half, which is much more comfortable for me. Does anyone have ideas for where to find table runners? I would really like a teal/aqua color. My mom and mother-in-law (to be) both sew, so maybe this is the best option. -Kristin
  17. Did any PF brides use outside vendors for flowers? I am wondering if there are more "competitive" prices out there and if Lindsay would be open to allowing you to use them??
  18. The wedding-only option has a $5000 minimum, that is correct. We felt the same way about having a resort wedding - too many other people around. We liked the intimacy of PF and feel like it will work out perfectly for us. We are working on our budget now, and without photography, we are already around 15K for the reception. We initially thought it would be closer to 10K, but food and open bar eat up a lot of the budget, and depending on the flowers you choose, those can get pretty pricey. I would call or email PF and ask them for a prices template so you can get an idea of the costs associated before you make a decision. I know it would be much cheaper to go with a package at a resort. As owners, we get a good discount at our resort for other guests to stay. Otherwise we would have done the full week at PF. I guess it just depends on your budget and your preferences. For us, PF is perfect. We don't mind spending a little more to make our big day as magical as we imagine it, and by we, I guess I mean me
  19. I am in the beginning stages of planning for my November 2010 "wedding only" event at Playa Fiesta. We have a timeshare at the Sheraton, so we opted to stay there and just have our event at the beach club. There is so much great advice on this forum --thank you to all--! I just booked PF the other day, so I don't have much info on pricing other than what is on the website. It sounds like flowers get a bit expensive. Did anyone use orchids (my dream flower, but probably the most expensive?!)?? Thanks for any help!!
  20. I am also using Beth Lloyd at Playa Fiesta in November 2010. Her website ELIZABETH LLOYD - Photographer shows a lot of her work, which I think is AMAZING!! She is in Puerto Vallarta...
