  1. the whole point of the show was to follow LC to LA though...so in my opinion doesnt Kristen feel stupid to keep taking over LC's shows lol like really, is that the best offer she has been given? if so she should start looking elsewhere for things to do...sorry just my opinion
  2. hmm that is interesting about no PST... what % tax do you pay on most things like clothes and food?? we pay 14% in total on most things here.. its brutal! and I live in Toronto and the cost of living is just stupid I have had enough of having a very decent income and barely getting by most of the time

To make matters worse the company I am travelling with has said absolutely NO REFUNDS, just issuing travel vouchers. If the airline doesnt come up with something I am goingto make it my life mission to ensure no one flies with them again.... so frustrated! I dont blame you at all for never ever wanting ot book with that company again!! that is insane that they wont give refunds...it is not like the border was shut down and they had to stop all flights, they CHOSE to do this and so they should not be allowed to say no refunds...its almost like they are taking this as a huge cash grab as I am quite sure alot of people will just give up and not actually use a travel voucher.....ugh some companies can be so slimy...
  4. So my fiance's work is thinking of moving us out to Alberta to give him a better job opportunity, and it is not a forced move for him it is his choice, however after talking to several people I have heard the cost of living in alot cheaper in most parts of Alberta, than Ontario. However I would love the ask the amazing BDW ladies, have any of you moved from Ontario to Alberta, or vice versa, and what are the differences between living in each places (ex. healthcare) Any feedback would be great as the cost of living in Alberta seems almost too good to be true...
  5. I cant seem to find it right now, there are so many articles about swine flu out that its crazy to try find one about the insurance companies, but I am not making it up, it was on the news and was said by a top health official in Canada.

I will try find the link, I was reading about it this morning and just saw it on the news now...let me try look. It is kind of ridiculous, but insurance companies sometimes make stupid decisions. ok I am off to find a link to this
  7. I am so sorry ...my heart is breaking for you! Have you asked your travel agent if there is anyway to go to another destination for the same date and have you wedding somewhere else?? I hope this works out and I just keep thinking this is all happening for a reason although it may take a long time to know that reason
  8. I thought I would mention that I have read this on many many news sources today and just saw on the evening news, that pretty much all insurance companies in Canada and the States will NOT cover anything to do with this swine flu if you go to Mexico after the notice to not travel unless it is necessary travel to Mexico was put into place two days ago. So just keep in mind if you do go to Mexico still, that your insurance will do absolutely nothing if God forbid someone does get sick. I am not trying to scare people, I just think as much as this may be a hyped up disease, that this is just another thing to keep in mind.
  9. i agree!! you should still give him the book...im sure I would chicken out too, but just remember dont be shy he loves you alot obviously and he would be so happy to get the book you dont want to end up regretting it one day ya know? I say go for it
  10. yay its always best to try find the silver lining in something even if it is a funny thing
  11. I just checked out the site for Air Canada and it says for now they arent cancelling flights at all, they are just being nice about changing flights to other destinations..here is the link: aircanada.com

PM me if you need any help! are you sure air canada has suspended flights?? last i heard is that they were just being lax on cancellation policies of plane tickets....i dont think they are suspending flights...yet.
  14. they just confirmed four cases in Toronto CityNews.ca - Toronto's News: Four Cases Of Swine Flu Turn Up In Toronto

  16. I think part of the issue with airlines shutting down for a month or so is that I am sure pilots and more importantly flight attendants are refusing to work on Mexico bound flights and so they cant fly without a certain amount of staff....I am just guessing that this is part of the reason, they cant make staff work if they dont feel comfortable or safe...doesn't make this situation any better but that might be why the bans are scheduled for so long
  17. Quote: Originally Posted by Norisa23 are you saying that canada as a country is banning travels til the 4th of june and england til the 8th of may?? As of now Canada as a country is not banning travel, they are just advising against travel to Mexico, however MOST travel comapnies in Canada have now stopped all flights until atleast the end of May! So I am sure it is only a matter of time until companies like Air Canada follow suit
  18. I just was looking at the news and Air Transat is cancelling flights until June 1st, SunWing is cancelling flights until May 29th, and Sunquest is cancelling flights until June 4th!!! I hope not alot of you are booked with these companies...

  20. so ladies does anyone know what the theme is for tonight
  21. Tammy does your SIL personally know Heidi or Spencer?? It wasnt a huge wedding by the sounds of it so thats impressive to be invited!
  22. I totally agree with Savannah! Not to be rude either, but I have been in the situation where I lost my mom in 2001 and my dad has been through two relatiosnhips since then and his current relationship he is now married. As much as it hurt at first for him to be in a relationship with someone, I had to stop and realise that he is happy with that person and besides being my Dad he is just as much a human as you or I. Your mom has been through so much in her life (and of course you have too, I am not saying you havent) but she deserves all the happiness in the world and I dont think this is a relationship you want to ruin over who she is dating. Until you meet her boyfriend don't already make an idea in your head of what you think of him or else if you think you wont like him, guess what, you wont like him when you meet him. So try have an open mind, and arrange something for you, you fiance, you mom and her boyfriend to do together so you can get to know him. Also as a previous poster wrote, you said to her you think she should bring a friend with her to your wedding, but then when she tells you who she wants to bring you get mad at her, so to be honest if I was you I would call her and apologize for getting upset about it so quickly as you did previously give her the option to bring someone else. I am not trying to judge or be bossy at all in writing this, but I would call your mom and say that you want ot have a good talk about this and fairly and calmly (most important!) tell her your concerns about who she is bringing to your wedding. And lastly, she is talking about taking this man to her daughters wedding (you) so I think she should be cut some slack as I doubt she would bring someone who could cause problems, drama or just who wouldnt have a good time there. So just take a deep breath and realise that your Mom is a grown woman who is allowed to make her own decisions and trust her judgement, as it doesnt seem by what you have written that she has a history of terrible relationships and bad decisions.
  23. omg I am so sorry this is happening are you for sure cancelling the wedding and going to reschedule it?? whatever ends up happening i wish you the best and hope things start looking up soon
