  1. Today we were emailed (randomly) and asked if we'd like to upgrade to SDRF (from SGOR). After speaking to the woman in customer relations she not only upgraded myself and fiance', but everyone else coming along also. It seems like they over booked SGOR and were trying to get people to move. So, now our wedding (8/10/09) will be at SDRF and I am wondering if anyone has pics of the wedding locations. Thanks!!
  2. Hi, I'm confused about the credit card thing. We've paid for everything, so why do they want 400.00? Also, if you give a cash deposit do they give it back b4 u leave?
  3. Lisa Old Navy has plus sizes on their website (I'm a 16-1, but not in the stores. I love shopping there. I am an Old Navy fanatic!!
  4. Good idea!! Honeymoon stuff. I love this site you guys are so helpful!
  5. Your pics are great!! Were they taken by the resort? Just wondering because I'm worried about their quality. Also, I noticed that you have a single band on and that's what I plan to do. SO, what did you wear until the wedding? Did you have an engagement ring?
  6. Thanks guys! I think that I went full speed in the beginning now there isn't much to do. I sent the documents 2 weeks into Feb., and they have contacted me already to verify everything. I may write my own vows becuase it sounds so cool! I guess with all of the free time I'll just stay in the gym. :0)
  7. Well I have booked everything and paid, but I am not sure what to do next. I am going with the standard package, but will have a flower and cake upgrade. My dress came in yesterday, I picked it up and my FI has all of his clothing. Now I'm like what do I do next? We only have 4 people going, so there is no big reception, and no oot bags because we are paying for guests to get spa treatments and a candle light dinner. I just feel like I'm missing something. Any ideas or help would be great!
  8. Welcome!! I hope that you find everything that you need on here. Please post pics when you get back!
  9. I'm wearing invisible braids because lace front wigs don't do well with water since they are glued (or that special hair tape) around the edges. If you don't blend the makeup right or if you sweat too much it comes up. The invisible braids look like strands of hair and can be styled anyway you want especially if you get straight hair. I'm going to Orlando on thursday to meet with the stylist and I may go ahead and get it done if I have time. if not I'll get it done on the 21st so that I have my hair the way I'll wear it in Jamaica during my fitting. I'll post pics once it's done and then you guys will have a better idea of what it(invisible braids) looks like.
  10. Has anyone gotten married during August? If so how was the weather? I have been worried ever since my friend asked "well, what about the hurricanes?" today. Everything is booked and paid for myself and guests, so I am wondering if I should have a plan "B" or if the resort will give us an indoor location to have the wedding if we need it.
  11. We ordered my rings online at Fine Jewelry, Diamond Rings, Watches, Earrings and More at Ice.com and I had a great experience with them. I had it in 2 days and the express shipping was less than 10.00.
  12. I contacted him by email. He is really cool, and his pricing is great! He sent me a contract confirmation after I paid the deposit and the cool thing is only 1/3 of the package price is due as the deposit. The rest is due the day of the shoot. Of course he'll take it b4 that day if you want. He even threw in a little something extra, which meant the world to me because Sandals won't let him in unless I pay for him as a guest.
  13. Hi. I am using Brian from Photography by Brian Nejedly - Ocho Rios, Jamaica - Weddings, Villas, Surfing, Reggae and so far he has been great!! Since we are getting married at SGOR and they have outside vendor rules we are paying for a few pics from them and we have a friend that is great with a camera going. Brian will do our TTD pics I have listed below what it includes, but he is also doing dry pics of us just to be nice because of the whole SGOR issue. So far he has been so nice and very helpful. 14. I am NOT making welcome bags because there are about 6 people (3 couples) coming with us, so we decided to get them the couples massages at SGOR. My FI is making CD's with our favorite songs on them because the massage basically teaches you how and then you choose your oils and head back to your room to "practice". I didn't feel like adding another thing to my list of things to do, nor did I feel like dealing with customs.
  15. It seems as though you are so excited! I know that I am. Congrats to both of you! Maybe we can get together for dinner or something while we are there. We are arriving on the 7th and are leaving on the 13th because my FI b-day is the 14th and he wants to spend it with our kids. The wedding is on the 10th and I already have my dress. Well I was fitted, but I am waiting for it to arrive on the 24th of April. I chose the Da Vinci T8107. I couldn't get the pic up, but you can google it if you want. As for the pics here is the info from the price list that Brian sent me- Trash the Dress: Generally a 2-3 hour session at one or two locations. 16. Hi! You'll be coming to SGOR on the day of our wedding. We are doing the trash the dress pics like an hour after the wedding. I decided to go with Brian from Brian Design - Photography & Website Design by Brian Nejedly - Ocho Rios, Jamaica. His pics are so great and he is so nice and easy to work with. Not sure if you want to use him, but the TTD was 800 and the included printed pics, and pics on a DVD, 2-3 hours, and 2 locations. I paid another 80.00 to get our favorite pics put to our favorite songs. I plan to show it at our get together after the wedding. Anyway, just let me know what you think or if you'd like to work something out to save a little cash! Amanda
  17. Since AJ couldn't get me to Jamaica on time to check in and be there enough time for the wedding they gave me back every last cent. To be honest Sandals didn't have a clue and I called AJ myself and then got in touch with the Sandals booking department. However, they did state that they had no idea and I was the 1st person to call them about an entire cancellation. Most were just changed and they were okay with it. As for insurance I purchased it through Sandals and it covered my flight and land in case of flight cancellations or sickness, and etc. It was 99.00/person.
  18. Neither one of us are divorced, but we were asked by the document specialist. I was told that they need to put this on the paperwork that they turn into the Jamaican government.
  19. Hi everyone, Since my parents can't go to Jamaica (my mom can't find her proper documents and customs said that she will NOT be allowed back in the US) I would like to get the booklet that the W/C gives you in Jamaica. I want my mother to help me pick the things that I want to use. The "sales" lady in Miami hasn't given it to me and has not contacted me about it since I 1st asked. Does anyone know how I can get one?
  20. Thanks Guys!! This is a big help! I've contacted a few of them, but Brian Design is my favorite! I may go with him. Thanks again!!
  21. Because Sandals won’t let outside photographers in I want some professional pics done outside of the resort. I am looking for a TTD session in Ocho Rios, Jamaica on 08/10/09. Any ideas? Is anyone available? Does anyone know if there is a great photographer in the area? I really don’t know where to start so any help will be appreciated!
  22. They cancelled my Saturday flight a few weeks ago (from Orlando, FL), and when I called them they stated that they were not flying to Jamaica from Orland on Tuesdays or Saturdays any longer. One rep even went as far as to say that she was told that they may be going bankrupct. Because they couldn't get me to Jamaica in time to chek in at the hotel they gave me every last penny back and I booked with American Airlines for 28 dollars more(total for both people). They didnt have a direct flight, but at least I don't have to worry about not getting there.
