hey, i think you've chosen another site in cancun, but i just wanted to respond to the thread since the Me by Melia is our top choice so far. We will be finalizing our choice by this May/June because we'd like to get married 7/11/10. So if there is anyone else considering, we can discuss together!

Tell me more about "trash the dress" the day before, I don't know anything about that event...and PLEASE let me know when your dress comes in. I want to see it and hear your comments!

wow, kimmy. Those are great prices for knockoffs of course, but as you know with all internet purchases you have to be careful. The material is usually a polyester, generic sizing, and details won't be perfect. Honestly at those prices though, it almost wouldn't hurt to try. Sometimes you just luck up and find a steal! I see they have a dress that I had my eye on that is originally $800 (without tax). I may just order it for the heck of it (although I have already purchased a gown). Thanks for the link.

We have a custom jeweler who is a good friend and he is making a gorgeous pair of diamond drop earrings for me that will be my "borrowed". I'm going to wear my diamond bracelet as "something old" and no necklace will be needed because my dress is strapless and my shoulder/collarbone/neck area is my favorite part of body--nothing else needed.

I have had the mag ad tear in my wedding binder since Dec! I really wanted to order it, it was listed at $799, but I found an unbelievable deal on another gown that is very pretty as well. So I'm biting my tongue and say oh well.

Hiii! Le Meridien is on my list. My FH first choice is the Me Cancun, but I just saw pics of the gazebo at Le Meridien (it's beautiful) so I'm researching them as well. I emailed Jessica earlier this evening for information and package information. I'm hoping to book by this May/June because we are going in August to finalize plans with whatever hotel we picked. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. I see you only have a short while left. I know you won't have much time soon, but if you have any info on Le Meridien I could really use it. Like package info, what's included, are they really strict on timing/vendors, is Jessica good to work with, did you secure group rate for your guests...stuff like that. Thank you in advance!!

Hi and congrats to all. I am a 2010 bride as well! 7/11/10 is the date we're going for and we're looking at the Me Cancun and Le Meridien in Cancun, Mexico. Those 2 resorts haven't been popular on this site for weddings but that doesn't deter me. We toured the Me Cancun in November 08 and my FH loves the look of the hotel. It's not particularly a "kid-friendly" place but there will only be about 5 children and there's always the beach available if the pool if too crazy. Then I saw pictures of Le Meridien in a magazine and looked them up, and the gazebo for ceremonies is gorgeous. I'm waiting to hear back from the coordinator on availability and packages. Neither of these hotels are all inclusive. I'm not an all-inclusive girl, and I don't want to lock my guests into some outrageous prices. I want them to have options on pricing, food, activities, etc. We're expecting a good amount of people as well (about 75). We haven't signed contract yet, I was hoping to do that by May and send STDs in July. We are going back to visit and check up on everything in August also.
