Hi there, I know I'm coming in late but I found this site Getting Married in Mexico - Consulate General of Mexico in Toronto that says you need to do all the stuff with notarizing and translating and my TA said I'd need to register the wedding here after. I'm very confused now we're still in the process of choosing a resort and choosing between Mayan or Punta Cana (which I understand their marriage is legal here but very costly to get documents done). I'm going to follow up with my TA to see if she can help clear up the confusion. Any new info is greatly appreciated.

Hi Ladies, we're looking to get married the first week of January 2010 and not sure where yet. Looking at the Mayan or Punta Cana probably a Barcelo, Riu or Bahia Principe resort. We'd like to stay at a 5 star but don't want to make it so expensive that our family & friends cannot join us. Any suggestions?
