Stunning and perfect. thanks to jgomez for finding me at the pool and giving me valuable advice! I will post a more detailed review but to sum it up- the reason why our wedding was perfect was because we demanded only the best and did not agree to pay until the next day. - that is key so they will be sure to not forget anything or mess anything up. We had our reception in the gazebo, cocktail reception at the lagoon, dinner at the base of the gazebo and we used the gazebo as our dance floor. We had the dj the entire time and he was perfect - we had him play till 12:30am and the next day everyone was asking about the crazy dance party in the gazebo-lol People from other resorts saw and heard our wedding reception too. The gazebo was beautiful at night! The breeze naturally cools you off if you are dancing lots and the water crashing was just magical! more soon! Andrea :-)
  2. jgomez- we have had that issue with some guests -airtran seems to only want to fly people out on saturdays best of luck! it will all be worth the craziness!

  4. We leave June 4th for DPA! thanks gina for writing me back. We are going to have a little over 30 guests as well and i was thinking about the same thing for a DJ - i just hope they have a lot of music i want! The thing I am really concerned about is the ceremony music - i got the ultimate package but swapped the mexican trio for a violinist but Jacy can't give me a list of music the violinist can play. What should I do about reception music? are you having a DJ then too? what are your music selections? I also keep changing my mind about where to have everything-lol
  5. Hi Ladies- I haven't been on here to post in a very long time because my fiance and I are also in the process of relocating from Maryland to Oklahoma the week before the wedding. Needless to say, i am extremely busy right now. Anyways, we leave June 4th for our DPA wedding and we have about 38 people total. The actual wedding is on Tuesday June 9th. We are very excited and will need the vacay after all of this stress! I promise to post a review and pictures when I get back for the rest of you. Just like everyone else, communication with Jacy has been a challenge. I understand that she does a wedding probably just about every day of the week, but it is still extremely frustrating. I am simply crossing my fingers and going with the flow ~ i am sure that minus a few small details, everything will be perfect! Best, Andrea :-)

  10. thanks for the pics bianca! Where do you think the best place would be to have the reception with a dj and dancing? Elizabeth- thanks for your response! it is really comforting to know that there are other people out there with the same questions! I was told 3pm and 5pm were available for my date - do they schedule weddings back to back? i would love sunset-but i really have no clue what time that would be in mexico in June-did you mean the lounge for a dancing reception or cocktail? thanks!   11. Hi Everyone! My name is Andrea and my wedding is scheduled for June 9th, 2009 at DPA. While I understand that this was newly rennovated - I have found communication with Jacy quite lacking. It has been challenging for me to plan details with such a lapse between the time I send an email and the time i get a response . .. maybe some of you have had better luck . . . anyways, I have put down my deposit for the top wedding package they offer, however I am not sure how to go about planning out the rest of the details. For example . . . 1. What are my options for where the cocktail reception can be? 2. Where is Dinner held (do i have options?) 3. I also want a reception with dancing and a DJ - where is that held? 4. They only give two times for the actual wedding ceremony yet their website says they offer sunset weddings - what time is sunset? Jacy also said she would send me photos of the rennovations but I haven't gotten anything. Please let me know if you have any information - it is very much appreciated! Kind regards, Andrea :-)
