  1. I'm bringing a photographer with me that actually is a friend of mine, but we're going to Couples Negril where they allow outside photographers. She's staying at the resort, so I don't have to pay anything additional. If we were staying at a different resort that didn't allow outside photographers, I would still bring her and even if she wasn't a friend, I would say she was. How can they prove it? She could be a relative for all they know. Photographers have family & friends too!
  2. Thanks for the great info! Our wedding is booked at this resort in February 2010, so it's great to see a review like this!
  3. I just reserved a date and time at Couples Negril! February 20, 2010 11:00am Thanks to everyone for your input!

We actually offered 2 packages a 7 night and a 4 night. The 4 night from Kansas City was $1400 per person including room, airfare, taxes, etc. It is a small world! I'm still quoting airfare, so thanks for the tip!

You might ask if CSA might be a little more flexible with your guest passes, since the two properties are owned by the same couple/family... Thanks petals! I had no idea Idle Awhile and Couples were owned by the same people. It now makes since why they allow access to the CSA sports facility. I might just have to try out the whole flexibility idea.
  6. I'm so torn! I've been researching resorts and locations in Negril for quite awhile now and I can't decide what would be best. I've stayed at AI and non-AI before and both have their pros and cons. My biggest concern is the expense not only to us, but to our guests. If we stay at an AI, my leading choice is Couples Swept Away, but it's so expensive for guests and if they don't stay there, we will be stuck with guest pass expenses. If we don't stay at an AI, will I be able to just relax, eat, drink and be merry? The leading choice here is Idle Awhile so far, but I just realized they don't have a pool. Don't get me wrong, I love the ocean, but sometimes you want to lounge by the pool too. I'll probably also have to pay for a wedding coordinator if I go this route, but I'm sure it's more personalized. Does the expense equal out in the end? Cheaper rooms for non-AI, but you have to pay for activities, drinks, food, wedding. Help! We're trying to stay under $6,000 for 8 nights for everything. I'm open to any suggestions! Thanks! Krista
  7. Congrats! I'm still trying to decide where to go. It's tough! We've been to BRB twice now on previous vacations. I like the resort and the little wedding chapel. The staff is amazing! It is smaller and I'm sure there are better rooms elsewhere, but who cares! They are comfortable and spacious. My only concern with them is the lack of response from the SuperClubs WC. This is why I'm hesitate to book there. We're getting married February 20, 2010. Let me know if you want to share a wedding photographer and split the travel costs. She's excellent and highly recommended! We're bringing her regardless, but every penny counts RPeters Photography | You imagine it, I capture it...
  8. As far as bugs, on my first trip to Jamaica, I was eaten alive by sand fleas! Anything that bites seems to be drawn to me, so I had huge welts on my legs. As long as you don't sit on uncharted sand at night, you should be fine. My next two trips to JA, we stayed at AI resorts where the beaches were combed daily and I didn't have any problems other than the occasional mosquito bite. Just bring spray and you should be fine.
  9. Welcome and best to you in planning! I'm also looking into options for June 2009 in Jamaica. There's so many options, it's hard to decide where and how much to spend.
  10. Great Post! Thanks for sharing all the posted playlists! There were some songs on here that I left off mine. I'm still putting a list together and will post mine once completed. One I haven't seen listed is: All We Ever Find by Tim McGraw ...Tell me all your dreams and what you think love means We'll lock the world outside, embrace the gift of time Promising forever, knowing that this moment might be all we ever find... This is a favorite of mine and will definitely make an appearance sometime during the night.
  11. I found these the other night too! They are super cheap at $.99 a pop! I was going to get the natural cloth ones so that we could easily do an iron on. If I get creative enough, I was thinking of putting the Jamaican Flag or the island of Jamaica with our names and wedding date below it.
  12. Hello! I got engaged in October and have started researching DW. My fiance and I have always loved Jamaica, so that's my first choice. Now it's just narrowing it down to where. So many choices! I've never been to Negril, so I'm leaning towards that area - maybe Couples, but I also love the chapel and all the activities at Breezes Runaway Bay. Date is still TBD, but leaning towards end of June. I have alot of work to do!
