Thanks I had my nails done on Thursday, left on Friday, and I got them re-done on Monday at The Spa so they would be freshly done. WIth all the sun-screen and chlorine they needed to be re-done by then. The SPA did a wonderful job- I had them done the day before the wedding so I didn't have to worry about them drying the day-of. I also bought the color I wanted and brought it down so that I could touch-up if necessary. I would recommend that because they didn't have a huge selection of colors. They also did my hair there and it turned out PERFECT! The SPA, in general, is beautiful-you have to check it out!

Have you found out any information regarding the steakhouse? Is it a "private" venue? Is it open air like the the Tropical? I am wondering if we just have to go there for dinner and then plan a separate area for drinks / dancing? Any help anyone can give me regarding the Lindo would be much appreciated!!! Thanks, Jennifer We were married at the Lindo in April. I have a few previous posts about this, so look back a few pages if you want a bit more info. We had our rehearsal at the Seafood and reception at the Steakhouse, both which are just off the Maya lobby. They are both set up with the SAME layout, so there are semi-private areas for each. I would suggest having the dinner at the seafood because the decor is SOOOOOOOOOO much nicer than the Steakhouse. I really regretted not flip-flopping my venues because the seafood colors were much nicer and the decor was not cheesy with bullhorns like it is at the Steakhouse. Here are a few photos of the seafood, and one of the steakhouse Again, unless they told you differently, I don't think they allow dancing at these restaurants because they are open to the other patrons, as well. We had our reception in the plaza at the shopping center.

I, personally, would do anything possible to AVOID using the resort photographers. Most of the work I have seen my them is bad (to say the least). I don't mean to offend anyone who might have used them but I want to be sure to give my honest opinion. I researched reviews on them before we left and I read HORRIBLE reviews. I guess they don't even direct you as to where to go for good shots/good positions, and the people who shoot the pics are not even 'professionals' they are just random workers with cameras! These are your WEDDING photos- not just some vacation shots- I would say do anything to make them the best! We had my aunt take them- she is a professional and was also a guest so we didn't have to pay the $300 fee. User beware- in my humble opinion! Here is a link to my pics if anyone would like to request to be a 'member' of my page: http://mushrosinmexico.shutterfly.com/

That is the only thing that they require...there were no other stipulations set forth...we even had one guy (friend of a friend) that wore a hat and they didn't say anything about it. (I almost wish they would have! HAHA)

You had a really nice sized group. Thanks, Kim Here is a link to our photos: http://mushrosinmexico.shutterfly.com/ You will have to request to be a member and then you will be able to see them. (Sorry so complicated- I just don't want the pics out there for the WHOLE world to see!) The tulle was already like that. I'm sure you could bring whatever you want to decorate- just like we did with the starfish. Good Luck!

I requested to use the canopy from the Grand at the Lindo but was denied. There is another option other than the arch- here is what it looks like: We brought the starfish to give it our little touch, but everything else they did without me giving them any specifics other than the orange color scheme. I felt like this was similar to the one at the Grand. Good Luck!
  9. One more thing about Seafood restaurant- Even if you don't like Seafood- the menu options for the large groups was: Salmon, Surf & Turf (at least ppl can eat the steak if they don't like lobster) and Fettucini Alfredo (veg option).

Can everyone please tell me top 3 restr to eat there, so i can schedule dinners. Best bulidings to request. Centrally located- by pool bar. Better at lindo or maya and why. Where is most going on. our guests will want alot going on, spend most of day at pool bar- where activity people... have to have recept at cajun rest- sick when i saw pic. didn't want in rest. Any pics of room you can rent before I call? sorry, i'm in a panic. I have to do new itinerary and programs HI Gail, I just wrote a HUGE response to your ?s and it wouldn't post for some reason- ARGH! In a nutshell, we stayed in Lindo BLDG 51 and it was RIGHT in front of the pool swim-up bar. The Las Olas bar is the other pool bar but not really where the 'party' is normally at. We did our rehearsal at the SEAFOOD and I would rec this to any bride for the reception (I wish I had my reception there instead of Steakhouse). It has the same layout as the Steakhouse, so it has the 'private' area in the back. Here is a site map: IBEROSTAR RESORTS & HOTELS PHOTO GALLERY - Map_Iberostar Playa Paraiso Let me know if you want any pics of the restaurants or a Timeline Template. Email me at carollyn_e at hotmail dot com Hope that helps! Hang in there- I PROMISE they WILL go out of their way for you when you get there!!!! (Everyone on the boards told me that and it was really true!)

We are hoping to use the Tropical restaurant which I know is open air and I'm a little nervous about how hot it might get in June. Anybody know if they let you bring your own fans? Thanks!! Thanks for the compliments! The only reason I knew about having the reception in the plaza at the shopping center was because a returning bride had told me about it! (You can choose to do a ceremony at the gazebo there, too, but we REALLY wanted the beach). We still had to do dinner at the Steakhouse. I chose that one bc people had told me that is the only restaurant that has a semi-private room, but the Seafood is right next door and has the EXACT SAME SET-UP as the Steakhouse. I wished that we had the reception dinner at the Seafood because the decor is SO MUCH NICER, and the food is basically the same for the large group choices. (We did the Seafood for the rehearsal dinner the night before). Being outside was not hot at all...by the time we got out there at 8:30, the sun had been down for about 2 hours and it was nice and cool. I was worried about lighting for pictures out there and bugs, but lighting was great and pictures turned out fine, and there were NO BUGS. (Toni explained that our winter months is when they get lots of mosquitos but it is too windy for them in the Spring). That is the other thing- PLAN for it to be WINDY at the beach ceremony. We thought that MAYBE it would be windy, maybe not, but the entire time we were there is was extremely windy at the beach and there was no chance of it not happening. It was a blessing, however, because without it the sun would have baked us!!! Please let me know if there is anything else I can answer!

  13. Hey Iberostar gals! I have been a little MIA since returning from our wedding at the Lindo, but I wanted to pop in and offer any assistance you might need if any of you are forced to move to the Lindo because of the closings. People told me this before I left on the boards and I never believed it till we got there, but...the WCs will take care of EVERYTHING you ever wanted and more. If you can just have an idea of what you want- they will make it happen for you. I know it's easier said than done, but I just had to 'let it happen' and stop being bridezilla and it made everything SO MUCH EASIER. What you remember about your day will be the people and the moments, not the chair sashes or seating arrangements. Araceli is actually no longer at the Lindo, but TONY is AMAZING!!! We had our ceremony on the beach, coctail hour at the Snake Pit in the Maya (which sounds weird but is a BEAUTIFUL indoor bar) and dinner at the Steakhouse (around the corner from the Snake Bar) and reception at the Plaza in the Shopping Center which was WONDERFUL. Everyone commented that it was so unique and was wonderful to dance under the stars. We hired DJ BOB who was WELL WORTH the money. The only thing I would have done differently is had the reception dinner at the Seafood instead of the Steakhouse. They are right next door to each other and have similar options for the group menu choices, but in my opinion, the Seafood IS SO MUCH PRETTIER!!! If you have any questions for me please don't hesitate to email me at carollyn_e@hotmail.com. Also, here are some pics: Carollyn Eberhard Mushro's Photos - Our Wedding | Facebook Good luck to everyone!!!
  14. Does anyone know where I can find a link to the restaurants and their menus? (We are at the Lindo and the Grand) I was looking at them a few weeks back but now I can't find it for the life of me. Any help would be appreciated. We leave Friday morning!
  15. UPDATE: The WCs finally responded to me today. Thanks to everyone for the advice and information. We leave Friday morning! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I will be sure to post when we get back. I'm even meeting up with LindoBride (Carla) while I'm there...can't wait! (((((Bride scurries off to pack and do other wedding-related stuff!)))))
