Any contract is better than none at all. Even if you decide it's too bothersome to ever pursue legal action in another country, at least with a contract, you have the option. Courts are somewhat lenient when it comes to what constitutes a "contract" -- so I would definitely write out the terms of the agreement and have it signed. If the vendor refuses to sign anything, find someone else.

OK, my name is Tricia... we don't really have a wedding date, and the location is also a question mark. LOL! Some introduction, right? We were planning a "traditional" local wedding for 10/17/09. For numerous reasons, we're now considering a simple beach DW in Florida for just us and our parents. We probably wouldn't stick with the same date because I have heard that's hurricane season in FL, but we're not really sure where we'd move the date too either.
