Does anyone know if guests staying somewhere else can purchase day passes for days other than the wedding? I want my aunt to come to the rehearsal dinner and maybe a brunch the next morning but if they can only come in for the wedding that will be a problem! She booked at a different resort through her timeshare, even though I highly discouraged it, but wants to buy a guest pass for herself and my cousins. Does anyone who has gotten married there know?

Also my travel agent said that Moon Palace added a new category of rooms which is a no view room and that is what is on Orbitz, expedia, and others so if the price seems too good it is probably one of those. Do I care? not really if it means people can come I would rather have them pay the lower price!

OMG! I just went to the travel agent to officially book my trip and I am in complete shock! For 2 weeks it will be over $6000 for my Fiance and I, a double room for a week including airfare from JFK NY was $3600 (his parents) and his sister with 2 kids were $5800!!!!!! OMGOMGOMG! My FI got upset b/c I said we should just forget it and go on an African safari, lol! $3600 for 2 people for a week!!!!!!!! I thought August was the low season! I traveled to Russia, China, Mongolia, and Japan for a month and it cost less than 2 weeks at the Moon Palace! My FI insists it wil be okay and not to worry b/c we will get the free room nights (we have almost 10 already) and get at least 4 nights comped but still. I am stressing b/c with the dress, photography, ceremony, and travel fees this is turning out to be an expensive event. It is still not as much as if it would be if we had it in NY, but still.... I am so worried now because that is so much money to ask people to spend. My cousin who is a bridesmaid is not coming now sO I am worried that everyone else will back out b/c of the price. I know his people won't but I am concerned about mine!' If people stay off the resort is there a limit on day passes? Can they only come in the day of your wedding or can they come in whatever day you want? SO MUCH $$$!!!

Everything looks great. I LOVE your stadium cups! I showed them to my FI and now he is opening up to the idea because he liked them so much. Everything is awesome your guests will love it!

Hello, I am having such a hard time deciding which dress!!!! Every time I think it is the one, I bring my mom or sis to see it and they are like "eh", then I get upset bc I don't want to be just "eh" I want to be "woah!" Here are my top 3 and it is driving me crazy so please help! #1 I love but it is going to be $2500 with alterations, don't know if I can afford but if it is clearly the best I may have to make it happen! #2 Second dress I tried on and a favorite from the beginning of the search. #3 I loved there and everyone else loved but when I look at the pictures I just feel eh because I have always been paranoid about my stomach and the dress was too small so it is sticking out a little and I don't have to want to worry on my wedding day, but if it is the one I will suck it up and wear spanx! Thanks!

OMG I had such a fright today. We thought we had looked over it carefully, then faxed the contract back and then my MIL noticed that they had the wrong date on the contract! they had 9/9/10 instead of 8/9/10!!!! I am a teacher so I was so nervous b/c nobody would be able to come in September and I would not even want to go in Sept. b/c its the beginning of the school year. Then my FI called our travel agent and she is on vacation. The lady at Moon Palace who organized the contract is also on vacation! They said that in the computer they have us down for the right date and will get us a revised contract next week, but I am still sooo nervous! CHECK YOUR CONTRACTS!!! Tina= I am also nervous since you said that David Pena was just eh and not fabulous! Pictures are so important to me! I am thinking of hiring Ivan Luckie, still trying to convince FI that we should...it is so ridiculous that the outside photographer policy changes for each bride. I have read so many different things on here- they are not allowed period, allowed with a day pass, allowed if they stay for 2 nights... I wish they would pick one and stick to it! Did you past brides put it in your contract? How did you handle the outside photographer

The veils at the bridal shop are SOOOO expensive! $200-$300 for a veil? I plan on ordering mine online, lol thanks for the link!

I got #80 cardstock and it was thick but not super thick like the ones at craft stores (Michaels, AC Moore, etc.) It could go through my printer and staples printer though... the test pages I bought at the craft store were 100 or 105 stock and they could not be printed on a printer because it was too thick. It depends what you want to use it for. I am using the 80 for my save the dates and it is perfect!

LADIES!!! I just got my contract! Does anyone have any tips or suggestions of things I should be looking for or should request on top of what they have? It seems pretty straightforward, like no fireworks or carriage if the weather is bad.... It is due with the deposit on Friday so please let me know!! Thank you!

Has anyone tried the Yudu Personal Screen Print Machine? It looks awesome! I saw it at AC Moore then went online and it is a lot cheaper online, but I do not want to buy it and then be aggravated. I was just thinking for napkins, oot bags, t shirts, even invitations and things like that.... Please let me know, if not this machine do you know of another?

Hello, I have always thought that engagement parties were solely for people grubbing for more presents. In my circle they are frowned upon as just another way to get more presents, and usually only people with money have them and they are at a catering hall. My sister's friends engagement party was like a mini wedding! It cost over $7,000 and had 3 courses and a cocktail hour! That is out of the question b/c that is the budget for my entire wedding! My aunt was talking to me today and said that she hoped I would have one so that the families could get to meet each other before the wedding. I had not thought about that part before... I have a large family with a lot of aunt's and uncles and they have only met my FI's family on sad occasions. My aunt offered her backyard (which is pretty nice but now it is getting cold out) and plus we got engaged in July. Is it too late because we have been engaged for 4 months? Is there a way I could have an engagement party without appearing that I am grubbing for presents? If I write "no gifts" on the invite will people still feel obligated? I would love to have one just so our families could get to know each other, but should I just not bother or have something with just the families? so confused please help! p.s. I am from NY is it like this in other parts of the country?

I was wondering if you could share your experience with the different outdoor locations. I was emailed this file with the different terraces. The moon and fountain terrace are out b/c I want dancing and they have a weight restriction. What is that blue thing in the pic with the selva terrace? Do the lake, venado, and tucan overlook the water? Also now my FI is giving me grief for wanting it indoor because of the air conditioning. Our wedding is in August at 5 pm, so the reception will be from 6-10. Will it be cool enough outdoors to dance?
