  1. The same thing happened to my fiance and I! We were leaving the Cancun hotel zone to head out to the airport, and a police officer pulled us over for "speeding." He asked for my fiances license, and told us to follow him to the police station to pay a fine. We explained that we could not follow him because we had a flight to catch....he asked us what cash we had on us and we paid him off so that we could go. When we get married out there we are having our TA provide transfers for everyone so they will not have to deal with any of this!
  2. I booked my wedding with Cecilia and she usually takes a few days to get back to me. I met her in person for our site tour so maybe that helped her to remember me. Don't give up....Secrets is absolutely gorgeous!! I have listed her info below... good luck!! weddings@secretsmaromabeach.com.mx +52 (984)877.3600
  3. I started playing around with a template last night and its not too hard at all! I am not very good on the computer and I do not know how to use photoshop or any of that stuff. I just opened a template in Word, changed the information, and changed it to our colors. Its actually kinda fun. Good luck! Give yourself plenty of time so that you dont feel rushed.
  4. Thanks Simistar! I have been wanting to get chair bows, but didn't know where to find them. What a good deal, thanks for sharing!
  5. Congratulations and welcome back Simistar! I definitely appreciate your detailed review, it really gives me a good idea of what to expect. It sounds like I have to get extremely organized! I can't believe your story about the hair and makeup, what a nightmare!! Thank you for your warning....I will plan on doing my own! I am bummed out about the mani/pedis too...I did a site visit a couple weeks ago and I really wanted to do a girls day at the spa and get our nails done. The spa is sooooo beautiful, its a shame they dont have more qualified people working there. I guess my time will be better spent relaxing by the pool. Thanks again!
  6. My fiance and I are going have a symbolic wedding in Mexico as well. I was actually thinking about doing the legal wedding AFTER the symbolic wedding, just so that our wedding in Mexico will be our 1st time getting married and also the day we will celebrate as our anniversary:) Any thoughts or suggestions?
  7. Hi All! I just wanted to introduce myself to you all, because I am going to have my wedding at Secrets Maroma. I am emailing Cecilia today to see what dates she had open for my wedding and I will start planning away! I just went to Secrets Maroma for a site visit 2 days ago and it is AMAZING!! I am 26 and My fiance is 29, so we loved the chic, modern, yet romantic style of the resort. Cecilia let us eat and World Cafe to try out the food and it was very good (this was key...we love to eat!) I absolutely cannot wait to get married there!

  9. Hi! I just got back from Dreams PA we had a really great time! The resort is really modern and chic...you will love it! The service is amazing, the staff does everything they can to make you happy! My only complaint was that the food was pretty bad :-( I hope that they are able to improve the quality of the food because other than that it is a great resort.... Im sure its because they have only been open for a week and they are still working things out. Anyways....here are my pics of the property! laurenshiohama/Puerto Aventuras - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
  10. Hi Ladies! My fiance and I are staying at Dreams PA this Sunday-Wed. I will take lots of pictures and report back to you all!
  11. Thanks for the info Lelly. I will ask the manager what their policy is when I visit for my site tour, but I am assuming they probably wont make an exception.
  12. Hi Ladies, Do any of you know if they will allow kids on the property just to attend the wedding? I really want my flower girl and ring bearer to be able to attend
  13. Hey Ladies! I am considering the "Ultimate Package" and I was wondering if any of you know how they will be charging non-hotel guests. Does the purchase of a Day Pass include everything? Ceremony (their chairs), reception (food and drinks)? Or will I have to pay for everything on top of the day pass seprately? Day pass+ceremony+ reception? Which will add up to A LOT of $$ if people don't end up staying at Dreams. Day Pass= lunch and dinner $55 Full Day Pass= bfast, lunch, and dinner $80 Ceremony set up= for more that 20 people extra cost? Dinner per person for "Ultimate Package" is $55 pp.
  14. Thank you. I am so happy I stumbled upon this site, I have learned so much already and you all are so sweet and helpful!
  15. Hi! My name is Lauren and I am planning my wedding for next November 2009 in Cabo. I have emailed RFPs to the wedding planners today. I am highly considering the Dreams Resort and Melia Cabo Real because I want to keep prices as affordable as possible for my guests (approx 30) so I am looking to to an all inclusive trip. Lauren
