  1. My mom wore a Kirstie Kelly for Disney collection dress (Kirstie Kelly for Disney Fairy Tale Weddings - Maidens) Style - KKSB4 MA2012 (Sleeping Beauty collection). Here are some actual pic's of her though: It took about 6 months to get in! Longer than my Maggie!

Those are the salons I know carry the Maggie lines :-)
  3. Ok, sorry about the delay in posting pic's of this Ireland dress. Again, I incorporated the toga straps from the Maggie SD5230 and attached a silk/feather flower (with a four leaf clover in the middle b/c it was St Patty's day that we got married)! I do live in Dallas and there are a few boutiques in the area that carry Maggie. Mocking Bird Bridal (off Mockingbird and 75), Lulu's in Uptown (off Routh St), and then Ocone's in Fort Worth (that's where I originally tried it on at and fell in love with it). Here we go: (My mom is wearing the Kirstie Kelly for Disney Dress) (Our Tres Leches Sand Castle Cake) I hope that helps...I am DEFINITELY NOT a model NOR even close to a model size. I'm short too at 5'3".
  4. Can you post some pic's since no one has seen this on a "real" person yet? :-P

For $36 I could buy a bad ass boom and still own it afterward LOL What fees for hooking up your iPod? If you don't what good are the speakers ... like for your reception? I don't get it ... why would that cost more? Thanks for the help. *SmiLes* Suzanne The iPod docking station is in every room and attached to the wall (can't take it out of its place next to the bed)...I don't know why they were trying to charge her $365 on top of the $150 rental for the speaker system. I was only charged $150 and it covered the entire speaker system for the entire night (until 11pm)...but I had my reception and dinner both on the beach. The iPod was used for music after the mariachi band (cocktail hour)... We found that using the iPod was great b/c you could change the songs and volume with ease and didn't have to "manage" it... The only thing I can think of for the additional charging is b/c she had her reception inside the Seaside Grill and they wanted to charge for having to play thier music instead of what they normally play (like an incovienence fee or something)...but I don't know. (She got married the day after me, so I saw her there).

I have read the order of ceremony on page one, my FI and I have written our own vows but, will they still use something standard for us when we exchange the rings? 1. Yes, as Sunbride said, they have someone in control of the music 2. Rehearsal ceremony - no ...but keep on them b/c she asked when I wanted mine, I said Monday (wedding on Tues) and we never had one...so I was nutz about what to do, how fast to walk, etc! 3. We wrote our own vows too, but "Mexican Law" prevails and you have to listen to her read the document...then you can say your own vows (I chose to take away the microphone at this point b/c I wanted it to be more intimate and be between him and me...it wasn't for everyone to hear)...so to better answer your question: you have to listen to the judge read the marriage license (no reading out of the bible like a traditional wedding) document, but you add your own vows (or sand ceremony) in there too! :-)

Now my planner is saying she doesn't think we need it but the resort website says it is required and I'm panicking that I'm not going to be able to get this done before we leave on April 19th! Any advice is welcome! Thanks! The "Apostille" is simply a fancy word for "certified" or stamped by an official government...if you have a certified copy of your birth certificate from your local county office, then this is perfectly fine for what they need. As far as needing divorce decree's (if you have been previosly married), then the wedding coordinators are looking for name changes...basically, if you changed your name from your "given" name to something else, then there is more paperwork involved; but if your name is still the same as your birth certificate, then that is all you need (well, you'll also need your traveler card (which is given at the airport) and your passport. I had Landy with us and she just needed our passport and traveler card to make a photo-copy of and didn't even look at our birth certificates or divorce decree's b/c neither of our names were ever changed...so it I feel ya about bein' stressed out, but once you're down there, everything will be OK! :-) I hope this helped :-)

Now I really don't know what to do!!! Also, did you bring your marriage licence home with you or will they ship it to you. I'm not sure if I want to leave it there!!! Thanks! If you use your iPod for the dinner, then all you have to do is hook it up and push play and in every room there are iPod docking stations to play it! :-) I brought our marriage license home b/c we were going to get it "Apostled" and translated here in Dallas instead of paying them the fees and waiting the months to get it back...but that's really your choice as it would cost less here at home to get that paperwork done...plus you have the license in hand

I want to use my ipod but a mic is really important. 3. For the girls that have already been through this, was it easy to get your decorations back? I have to get married at home a week after I get home from Mexico and I would like to be able to use some of the decorations twice...that way I only have to pay for them once ) Thanks for any help!! 1. The hair flowers are $6 extra...but they give you like 5-6 flowers! You would pay that in the total price when you pay the wedding. So no worries on that :-) 2. I only paid $150 for the speaker system rental for the entire night (until 11pm) and we had the Caribbean trio and then used our iPod for the dinner & dancing...on the beach :-) 3. The wedding coordinator will ask you if you want the decorations back and they will deliver them back to your room that same night :-)

I don;t think I really need the speaker for the cocktail hour but the Ipod Docking Station would be enough. It's a flat rate of $150 for the speaker "rental" until 10-11pm (that's what we were charged)...but we had our reception and dinner on the beach...so if you have it in the restaurant, then that may be the reason for the additional charges :-)
  13. Sorry everyone...I changed the name of the wedding album on Photobucket, so the pic's aren't showing anymore...so let's try this again :-) Dreams Tulum Wedding Floyd-Scroggins pictures by jennyjean7 - Photobucket

  15. Landy did tell me that after this week, they have on average 2-3 weddings a day until the end of June! So yeppers, they're definitly busy right now!

They are also having a carribean night on Friday night with a buffet but I dont think Jay wants to do that. It is a bit annoying to figure this out considering Landy takes a week to get back to me. She did respond that I could get Rachel's bouquet which is one less thing to worry about! The caribean night was awesome!! 20. Hey ladies! I've posted before how I've incorporated the toga strap of the RD5230 (2009 line) to my Ireland dress and it came out absolutely beautiful, unique, distinct, timeless, and the perfect dress! I made the flower accent and since we were married on St Patty's day, I added a four-leaf clover to the middle of the flower :-) Here are some pics: My mom is wearing Kirstie Kelley's Disney Dress :-)
  21. Hey ladies! I finally made it back from my "weddingmoon" and it was absolute paradise! I did NOT want to come home! I wanted to be like all the "transplants" (people from other countries who just up and moved) I met there! :-) Well, here is my LONG review with some pics...I'll add more as I get them :-) http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ostthread&f=77 My new step children and husband :-) Our "Leading Pisa Sand Castle Cake" Our small, intimate, but fun wedding party!
  22. We really had the "Luck of the Irish" on our side for our wedding day...no or little wind and a perfect sunset...I could not have asked for more :-) Username: jennyjean7 Names: Jenny & Robert Date & Time: March 17, 2009 Wedding package: Ultimate Wedding extras: Hair Flower: $6, Flower Girl Basket and Flowers: $10 (or so), Speakers: $150, Bonfire on Beach: $60 Type of ceremony: Civil Coordinator: Landy Number of guests: 11 Ceremony location: Beach Reception location: Beach Photographer: Resort Videographer: Resort Special arrangements / activities: Everyday we had a special activity planned with our guests First, I need to thank everyone on here for all their help in my planning and preparation for my wedding day and “weddingmoonâ€â€¦I could not have gotten some of the ideas and inspiration without ya’ll!! Second, I need to clear up some confusion and misinformation. We were lucky enough to make really good friends with both Daniels (GM of resort and Director of Sales/Marketing…2 Daniels). Both them and Landy shared quite a bit of useful information…For example, the infamous “Massage Hutâ€â€¦this was torn down back in Oct-Nov due to new “government regulationsâ€. When the Mexican government came in and shut the Tulum hotels down, they required certain aspects to be changed, paperwork updated, etc. One of those was that hut. For some reason, Mexico won’t allow a massage hut on the beach?? Another example was the resort had to widen the greenery around the grand entrance from the hotel lobby leading to the beach (the sidewalks had to be cut in and more plants around the resort). Third, the north wedding ceremony site (by the Dive shop) was taken down. Landy did state that it could be put up if needed, but honestly, the south cite is more accommodating. Location: A+ Being that the resort was a 2 hour drive from the Cancun airport, it was quite a trek, but well worth it. The resort is secluded along with the beach with the nearest beach hotel/resort about a mile or so down the beach (walking). We found out that the Policia are not even allowed on resort grounds (because we had an incident with an angry cab driver), so feel secured! Arrival/Check in: A- Here is my only complaint on the resort and their staff. It seemed that the concierge and front desk staff are not all on the same page, as with any major hotel, but overall, they were very accommodating, friendly, and followed up on any complaints. We were supposed to have had 3 days in a Suite, then move to the Honeymoon suite, but we asked if we could just move to the Honeymoon suite for our entire stay. At first, the front desk staff said they were booked, but we made them ask their manager and vola! It wasn’t booked and we received the 3rd floor suite that overlooked the wedding site and Dolphin Pool…absolutely the best room there is! Since we made friends with some other brides, we were able to take pictures and video from our room and it was the perfect birds’ eye view! The Resort: A+ Again, this resort is totally secluded, so you literally feel like you’re in paradise the entire time! My fiancée (now husband) and I made really good friends with Both Daniels’ (GM and Director of Sales/Marketing) and therefore were accommodated to more than most (from other brides that we made friends with while we were there). They were totally awesome. We had HIGH expectations and they exceeded every single one of them. The Romantic Dinner on the beach is totally worth it!!!! Restaurant’s: A+ Being from Dallas, we LOVE our food, so we were pleasantly surprised to find out that every restaurant we ate at was phenomenal! The only restaurant we didn’t eat at (b/c we had the kids) was Bordeaux (the French restaurant that doesn’t allow children). This resort chain is American owned, and compared to other “all inclusive†resorts in Mexico that are not American owned (such as Riu), the food is exceptional and the drinks come in large glasses with Call Brand liquors (such as Johnny Walker, Jack Daniels, Hornito’s, etc). Activities: A+ The main activity we did while down there was get our SCUBA certification and the resort dive shop was thorough, knowledgeable, and helpful. The guys there (Will, Deon, and the 3rd dive instructor) are all friendly and will give you as much time as you need to finish, learn or “do over†any diving or snorkeling lessons. We visited Xel-ha…this is a HUGE outdoor playground…like Wet ‘n’ Wild (minus the slides). Here, we snorkeled, hiked and swam with the dolphins. This was awesome! The next day we decided to go to “Hidden Worlds Cenotesâ€. Here we rapelled down a hole, zip-lined across the jungle and also into a Cenote, snorkeled the Cenotes and a dark cave, and rode the “Sky-cycle†(this is a zip line where you ride a cycle)…surprising a great workout! This is definitely a place to go spend a ½ a day and just enjoy nature! My husband went ATV’n on the day of the wedding and he absolutely loved it! The last day we went to the ruins. This is an educational, breathtaking, and overwhelming place b/c it’s more than 1600 years old. Bring bug spray though b/c those nat’s will swarm all over you! Spa: B I am not a “spa kinda-girlâ€â€¦I would have rather been riding horses that morning instead of hanging out in the spa; but since my husband bought a spa day for me and all my girls, I kinda had to attend. Jennifer, the spa coordinator (or spa concierge) was the best! The spa staff…not so much. The spa itself is beautiful, tranquil, peaceful, etc…but again, I just don’t like spa’s…I’m an out-door-sy girl Hair/Makeup: A I had Trinidad (yes, she’s a she), the resort “stylist†do my hair and makeup. She did an awesome job on my hair! I brought a few inspirational pictures and she worked her magic. My hair doesn’t hold very well (and I forgot to wash it prior b/c I was at the spa ALL morning), so there was a lot of hairspray, but it still ONLY took LESS than an hour!! I brought a picture for make-up too, and it turned out good, but a little “too muchâ€, so when I got back to the room, I toned it down and blended it all in Wedding Coordinator: A+ The day we checked in, we were given a letter from Landy with a time/place to meet to go over the final wedding arrangements…so ladies, don’t worry, she’ll meet with you either the day of arriving or the day after and everything will get taken care of! Landy was very poised, intelligent, and caring. I gave her all my decorations, color schemes, and told her to “run with it†and everything turned out so beautiful! They really know what they’re doing! Cake: B+ -A Being that this was the FIRST time the chef at the resort had tried anything "unique" like this, of course it didn't turn out perfect...but it turned out different and it sure did taste good!! We called it our leaning Pisa Castle Cake :-) Landy had to go and buy (out of her own pocket) the mold for the top of the cake...I thought it was going to be the entire cake as a sand castle, but the chef couldn't do it like that....but again, it was tasty!!! Resort Photographer/Videographer: A- The main thing with this was we told them that we do not like to “pose†and would prefer natural pictures…thus some of the pictures that came out were not what I liked b/c of the “posingâ€â€¦overall, he took good pictures, (some of my guests took better pic’s) and he wanted too much money for an additional TTD session (so we decided not to do this). PLUS you can NOT have a horse on the beach, in case anyone out there wants to include this in their TTD session :-( This was the main reason why I decided not to do this. Since our ceremony was at 545pm, our pictures were at night…we wanted our kiss to be right at sunset and didn’t care too much for the “beach pictures†as we had soooo many before and after the wedding… the ceremony was more important than the “kissing†photo’s to us. The videographer really didn’t talk much…he just followed us and the photographer. He will be mailing the video today and so we should receive it soon. Wedding Day/Site: A+ I could not have asked for more. Of course, we had the beach ceremony and everything was perfect! I was so nervous and anxious, that the day just flew by. During the ceremony we not only had the resort photographer, but our guests and Both Daniel’s again taking pictures (they will be mailing these this week to us). After the ceremony, we had the Caribbean Band on the beach (much better than the Mariachi’s from what I heard), followed by the dinner on the beach (b/c the Massage Hut was no longer there). Now, the pictures that the resort show are deceiving because the set-up is actually between 3 palm trees, next to the Seaside Grill, that are lined with lights and it’s absolutely gorgeous! We paid for the speakers ($150) and had an iPod hook-up and we were able to play our music (blaringly loud too) until 11pm! During this, and after dinner, we opted for the Bonfire on the Beach…this was great! Although we didn’t roast marshmallows, we invited all people walking by to our fun, festivities, and dancing… Ok, here's some pictures :-)
  23. Wow...it cost me $380 (+tax, so actuall $411) for all my alterations...bringing in, hem, and adding a "toga" strap)...so my total dress cost was around $1200
  24. I absolutely LOVE that dress! I ordered my Maggie Ireland in Oct, so thier 2009 line wasn't out...when this and the SD5230 showed up AFTER I ordered my Ireland, I was, to say the least, upset! So when I went in for my fitting, I asked them to incorporate the shoulder portion of the SD5230 (SD5230 - by Maggie Sottero) onto my Ireland and then I'm having to put a small flower brooch in the front, smaller than the SD5230 though as to not "take away" from the dress :-) But I go in for my final fitting today, so I'm excited... But I LOVE that dress and the fit, if the same as the Ireland, is sooooo perfect!!! :-)
