  1. Hi- late to the game here but we had the same thing happen. We are going to be at Gabi Terrace for our reception after our ceremony at Naos Beach. I think it will be totally fine. We were going to be on Olympic Terrace and now we are just at the Gabi Terrace. I agree- it's too late to try and change everything. Talk to Teresa, she will take care of you I am sure. We leave on Sunday so I'll let you know how it goes when we get back in March!
  2. Thanks so much! I have to decide soon and this thread is so helpful!
  3. KittenHeart! LOVE the idea of getting him something he can go do with his boys...we don't get to see our friends very often so I am going to make that happen. THANK YOU!
  4. Oh! I also think I will have a bagpiper meet us at the airport when we get home since we can't find one in the Dominican Republic!
  5. I thought I would start a thread on Scottish Wedding Traditions (maybe I missed one that had already been created, so if I did, sorry!) My fiance is Scottish and we wanted to incorporate that heritage into our ceremony. So far we are doing the following. I would love to hear other ideas as well! - Kilts- my fiance will be in his family tartan and the groomsmen in the colors of Scottland - Handfasting- we will probably do the handfasting ceremony within our ceremony. This is where they wrap the couples hands together with the family colors. - Luckenbooth Brooch- Traditionally, the groom gave this brooch to his bride on their wedding day. Then, when they had a child they wrapped the babys blanket and pinned it with the brooch to ward off evil spirits. - I also found these handkerchiefs with the Luckenbooth and had one embroidered for me and my fiance for the day of the wedding: Irish Celtic Luckenbooth Personalized Wedding by mollyandmom - we are using tartan fabric to sew our own ring pillow Ok- I think that is it for now! I would love to hear other creative ideas!
  6. I felt the same way when I first joined! So many decisions to make! But, there is so much information in this forum that you will find your way. Good luck!
  7. So much GREAT information!!! When I started planning I had worked this into my head as one of those "oh my gosh! What do you do?" Now it will be a piece of cake!
  8. Passport invites are the best! Couldn't have done it without all my BDW inspiration!
  9. Thanks ladies! Ok- for some reason I cannot upload the file! I'm not getting a little paperclip in my posting toolbar. Anyways... I borrowed it from another thread and made it my own. It's the BDW way! Materials Used: - Security Badge/ID/Holder (says they are sold out but I am sure you can find something similar)- Amazon.com: Security Badge ID Holder, Vinyl, Prepunched, Vertical, Clear, 50/Pack AVT75451: Office Products - Luggage Tag Straps- Amazon.com: Sparco Plastic Strap Luggage Tag: Office Products - Use Matte Brochure paper to print your tags on. It is heavier paper and shows pictures beautifully! You can get it at any office supply store. I think I got my at Office Depot or something. - Notecards- TARGET! There are boxes of 25 notecards/envelopes for $10! I just printed them at home. PM me and I can send you the file I used to create these.
  10. I made these off of a template provided by another thread, but I can't find it now! I took images from our destination (Punta Cana, DR) and added them to one side. Then, on the other guests can write their information. We also made the enclosed card. We sent these as soon as guests booked their trip to let them know how excited we are for them to join us!
  11. Hi there, I thought I would post my invites as they finally went out. So many great ideas borrowed from the site, I thought I would give back. These were designed and printed by Paper Planet in Ft. Worth, Texas. I live in Oregon and my family is in Texas. They were AWESOME to work with! I highly recommend them! Invites
