You are going to look beautiful! I can't wait to see your pictures.
  2. I just woke up and had to immediately check this thread. I was up thinking about it a lot last night. How people are so cruel and stupid shocks me everyday. I am so happy the dog is safe.
  3. I am doing a Friday too. My plan is: wed ~ guests arrive, welcome dinner (or something like that) thurs ~ Chill out and relax. Or anything else the guests choose to do Fri ~ wedding and pARTY! Sat ~ chill and recoup sun ~ guests leave I sort of thought friday was perfect for my situation. I dont think the day matters when your on vacation. Good luck!
  4. HOLY CRAP!!!! That is so wrong. I don't live anywhere near there, but I almost want to call the cops or an animal protection agency. If that is for real then I am really sad! The owner should be tied up with a kennel to see if someone will take him/her in. People are such assholes! (sorry I needed to get that out)
  5. Andi, You look beautiful!!! I really love how the sweetheart will look. I can already tell from you holding it that I like it better that way. The back and train is gorgeous! Great choice.
  6. I like option 1 best. I always like how a classic black shirt photographs. It will highlight your beautiful happy face!!! Make sure you share the pictures when you get them back!

So I really wouldnt be paying for the dinner, that's what I meant! Sorry for the confusion! Oh ok, that's what I thought you were asking. I started reading other responses and confused myself. No I don't think it's being cheap. If you have it at the resort it will be well-organized and your guests will get to get aquainted with the resort and what it has to offer. I don't even think anyone would think its being cheap. I plan on doing the same thing. Actually, I think its a good idea!
  8. April, I am so sorry for your loss. Just know that there is now an angel above watching over you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  9. April, Sorry to hear about your dad. Its bad enough that you are dealing with that and now you FMIL is adding more stress that is not needed. Its messed up! I agree with everyone...do what you and your FI want! If you don't you will definately regret it. It's a shame that this is supposed to be the happiest time in your life and they are selfishly ruining it for the two of you. I hope it works out. You are being very fair so f*ck them! I know it sounds harsh, but you can't make everyone happy. Family should be supportive (even if they disagree with your decision). Obviously they are not thinking of you and your feelings, so you need to make yourself happy. Good luck! I will light a candle for your father. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
  10. Time is flying fast! I keep thinking I have so much time, and now I have to stop dragging my butt and do stuff. so far I have -ordered my dress -the other day I got bridesmaid dresses -booked rooms at Dreams for me, my FI, and immediate family -reserved and put downpayment down for AHR what else should I be doing....hmmmm? Oh, and I am doing invites tomorrow. I think I am good for now. If there is anything I am forgetting to do that needs to be done now...please someone let me know! (thanks in advance)
  11. Your dress is beautiful! Looks like everyone had a great time. Congrats! By the way...who did your makeup it looks amazing?
  12. I might be confused too! Are you having the bonfire/smores in place of the welcome dinner or a reception? I re-read your post too, but now I am still not sure what I am talking about?
  13. I like 1/2 up! Although, that's what I am going to do so I might be biased.
  14. That sounds like a great idea. Your guests might like that better, because they can do whatever they want for dinner (considering its a vacation for them too) and then meet for a bonfire/smores. If you did a welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner, and reception 3 days in a row, they might not feel like they can just relax and enjoy the resort. Great idea!
  15. Welcome Kim! I don't know much about Jamaica, but my future brother in law and sister in law got married at Grand Lido in Jamaica a couple years ago, and loved it! I dont have any info, but I guess its worth looking in up. Have fun planning!

  17. Holy crap! Where did you here about this? That is really scary!!!! I never knew there was even a problem like this....people are nuts!
  18. UPDATE Last night I was looking at a thread on here "show us your pet". First everyone has the cutest dogs, cats and even birds ever. Someone on the thread I forget who, posted a picture of an American Bulldog. Now I do like small dogs, and this goes against everything I said, but he was so adorable! I showed Matt, and he really loved him too. He's been online all day researching them, and calling places. We are not 100%, but I guess there is no harm in looking. So we might agree, but its only because this dog is so irresistable. Maybe I'll like a big dog?!

He is really lazy most of the time but we do need to take him for a walk or let him run around the park everday to exert some energy. But really you should be doing that with any breed of dog...they all need ways to stay healthy and get rid of pent up energy from sleeping inside all day. He does get hyper when people come over to visit though because he LOVES people and loves other dogs. He is the cuddliest dog I've ever seen though, which really outweighs any negatives from him being hyper here and there. Also note that because it's a mix, one puggle can be very different from the next. My brother and his wife also have a puggle and he's quite different from ours in so many ways! He is not hyper at ALL! So you never are guaranteed what you're going to get. But I think the "hyperness" you hear about is just typical puppy energy and they grow out of it just like every other dog does. Thats what I try telling my FI! All dogs are different, especially the mix breeds. I actually took him to see a puggle at a local dog store (dont worry I wasnt buying a dog there, I just wanted to "browse") We took the puggle into the gated area where you can play with the dog. I was trying to prove my point how cute and mellow the dog was.....except the dog had a different agenda. It started running around crazy (like so fast he was sliding into the walls) then ran up to my FI and starting biting his jeans at the bottom. He was growling, and running and TOTALLY RUINING MY POINT! I then went with the idea that he was just a puppy and was excited that people were playing with him. Needless to say, my little plan didnt go so well. I will keep trying. I hate when he doesnt give in to me. I am such a brat!
  20. OK, so my FI and I are looking into getting a dog. My dog passed away a couple years ago, and his dog (a boxer named Rocky) lives with his parents because he gets anxiety when you take him anywhere else (the dog, not my FI) Anyway, I want a Puggle SO BAD!!!!!! I have always had little dog (my lasy dog was a cockapoo - cocker spaniel and poodle mix) and he has always had big dogs. I thought a Puggle was a comprimise. Well....my FI says they are too hyper. Does anyone have one, is this true? I am so annoyed, because he really seems to be standing his ground on this one - I hate that! He wants another boxer, which I love, but I just want a Puggle!!!!!! I think I just needed to vent a little..thanx for listening or any advice you have.
