  1. Wow, two gorgeous dresses on one gorgeous gal! You look fab!
  2. I wouldn't wear a sash with that dress either! I think it looks lovely without one and if you had one, it might "cut you in half" visually. You are very cute and petite!
  3. I love the first one on you, but they are all lovely! I would keep looking for ones w/ a similar silhouette.
  4. LOL-- I'm using an old bed from my parents, and the rest of the bedroom furniture is from grandparents! That's a silly superstition.
  5. Mine was on the day of the wedding. I had asked my mom to look for a little box of the Sofia sparkling wine (it comes in little pink cans!) to take to the salon with me. Was so excited that she had found it. Went to the fridge 15 minutes before the appointment (the salon was 2 blocks away) and they were nowhere to be found. (I had seen it in the fridge the day before!) Checked both fridges, the coolers that the caterers had started to set up-- nada. Someone had moved the chilled cans of sparkling wine to a cupboard! I was freaking because this was the one thing that I asked for, and my salon was going to charge me extra for being late! Luckily we just made it on time and I got my wine, so it was all good.
  6. Ah, jealous exes. You either have to laugh or cry, right? Glad you're doing the former.
  7. I am kind of in the same boat-- didn't want an AHR (my family is spread all over the country so it wouldn't even work for my side) but DH's family insisted. It's going to be a party for all of his side's extended family andfriends that couldn't make the trip. I will probably know a handful of people there & honestly I'm a little freaked out about it. But it's their decision-- they want to include all of their friends/family. It's their money so all I said was, sure! Where do I show up?
  8. I would definitely look for a second opinion and hopefully a new hospital, one that specializes in cardiac care. If your mum is near a major city with a teaching hospital that is what I would suggest. (Not sure what is closest to her.) Her medical care sounds frighteningly substandard and I would not put up with it for a second!
  9. Yes, I would contact the clerk of court in the county where you will be married and they will be able to tell you specifically what they accept. For what it's worth, I had a notary perform my ceremony and it went great.
  10. I haven't seen one like that on the DB site. It may be an older style. I think Maggie Sottero and Sophia Tolli have similar styles though.
  11. Oh sweetie, that is so awful! I had a bunch of luggage stolen about 10 years ago (long long story) and I am still upset about it. I hope you can file a claim and get some reimbursement, but I know that the emotional wounds take a lot longer to heal. Take care of yourself.
  12. I agree with Tammy Host-- this photog seemed sketchy from the get-go and despite everyone's warnings, you decided to go with him anyhow. And now you're upset that he's not moving mountains for free and are expecting us to side with you. I think it's time for you to own this bad decision and move on. If you get your book, then great but without a contract or payment then there is nothing to go on. You put six hours of time into it but if he is legit, it will take him much much longer to work on the photos and then make a book from them. If you want a book so badly, why don't you use a service like blurb.com and make it yourself?
  13. What a gorgeous dress-- you look dynamite! And the colors for the BMs are so vibrant and fun!
  14. Beautiful photos! Where in Key West were you? We were there on our cruise on May 23!
  15. Your photos are just WOW! You are so beautiful and so is your entire bridal party! Also loving the pink heels.
  16. You are so gorgeous! I love your bouquet and pretty much everything!
  17. Ladies, I am so excited! Here are three teaser shots from our May 16th wedding in Islamorada, FL. Cara with F22studio shot them.
  18. I used raspberry, orange and a little bit of lime. Basically I drew from tropical flowers like orchids and lilies. It's up to you-- do you have a favorite color? Does your DF? Does your venue have a certain feel to it? Mine had lots of palm trees everywhere so we used palms in a lot of the paper goods.
  19. I have to agree w/ everyone else- definitely #1! They are so pretty, and I love Nicole Miller.
  20. That is super cute! I didn't see any white bikinis that I liked for my honeymoon (I am not good with online stuff-- need to try on bathing suits) so I didn't get one.
  21. I had the same confusion-- I had wanted a simple charmeuse or chiffon halter sheath and I looked pregnant in every single one. I ended up with a more structured/fitted dress-- a slim a-line in lightweight silk taffeta with a sweetheart neckline and strapless. I think Savannah is right-- you can find a happy medium between lightweight/floaty and heavy/structured.
  22. I also love #1 on you-- so classic and flattering. But if you don't love it, then by all means keep looking! I think I visited 6 different boutiques (several of them more than once!) before I found the right one.
  23. I think they all look great on you! 2 and 3 are my faves-- so you made a great choice .
