  1. The MAC counter recommended their product "matte" to me. It's different than their "prep & prime" (which is more of a lotion) because it's a clear gel. I loved it the day she put it on for me, but havn't purchased it yet because they were out. sad.gif

    Yep, I recommend it!

Actually, I have a TTD dress brand new, sitting in the closet. But it's big, really really big, and I couldn't fit it in any of my luggage, and I didn't like it as much as my real dress. So I solved the problem the easiest way I could think of. Now to sell the TTD, lol!

I laid my dress over 2 chairs on our balcony. I didn't even rinse it off first, just laid it out to dry. It took about a day (I think... having a hard time remembering, lol). When I brought it home I soaked it in the tub and it took about 4 days to dry! But that is a whole different story.

The dry cleaners called- my dress is ready to be picked up, so I'll let you ladies know how clean it is now. I wish I would have taken a "before" picture.
  3. i used my real dress, and LOVED it. what else was i going to do with it? sell it for about 1/2 of what i originally paid? no way, lol.

it's been at the dry cleaners for about 2 weeks now... so we'll see if it comes out clean. it was seriously TRASHED after our shoot. Mostly because it was hemmed for me wearing 4-inch heels, and after we jumped in the ocean we rolled around on the beach & I was laying in the driveway in front of a speed bump sign. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

We are trying to pay all of our vendors that we can in advance so that all we have to worry about is tip on the wedding day. Now this is getting off subject of the trio but I'm curious...did you convert cash to pesos or just pay with american money?
I used american dollars. In fact, I didn't use pesos the whole trip!

ummm how did you balance yourself so well in a wedding dress on that palm tree!? and is that a lobster in your hand?!
I think the years of gymnastics came in handy here. I was barefoot, which helped! Yes, real lobster! Local fisherman let me borrow it for the shot. The first lobster I've ever held- that thing was heavy, and I was waiting for it to start wiggling. Good thing it was dead. wink.gif

Thanks for all the sweet comments everyone. love.gif
  6. We had a mariachi band (I think there were about 10 men) play at the beginning of our cocktail hour, right after the ceremony, while we were taking bridal party pictures. I think that all of our guests loved it, and then we didn't feel so bad about running around and taking pics. I was a little bummed to miss most of their set, because they were amazing. I recommend live music- it was one of my favorite parts of the whole day! I definitely think it's worth having, even with 20 people.

Another note that I totally forgot about- if you do have live music & plan to tip them, make sure to get it planned before hand. Maybe give an envelope with cash to a good friend or a parent to give to the musicians. We totally blanked on this one & were bummed later.

  7. we had an engagement ring part of our ceremony, so we exchanged rings, and then he put the e-ring over my wedding band.

i was so busy that day that i totally forgot to take off my e-ring earlier, so when the minister asked for the rings, i quickly took off my e-ring & added it to the other 2 (that were in ted's pocket before-hand). lol! hopefully nobody was watching too closely. :)

    here's part of our ceremony:

Aimee, take this ring, and as you place it on Theodore’s finger, repeat after me:

Bride: This ring I give you, as a token of my devotion and love, and with my heart, I pledge to you all that I am. With this ring I marry you again, and continue to join my life to yours.

The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Theodore, place the engagement ring on Aimee’s finger over her wedding band to symbolize the love that brought you together.

Anywho, congrats. You and your hubby make a very cute couple!
    Thank you!

I wore them for dinner only, lol!

We had our dancing reception at the beach bar, and ended up dancing in the sand all night. When we went to the disco for the after party, I wore tall white flip flops. But I knew going in that my shoes wouldn't get used much. :)

I need something to compare to!

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I know that the prices are very different based on airfare. We had a direct charter flight and stayed for 10 days and it was about $2500/person. One of our guests flew from South Carolina, stayed 5 days and paid under $700 after insurance & taxes! I think that the time of year has something to do with the prices as well. But I am no expert. :)
