We'll still be at the resort though for 11 days though. Very cool. What made you decided to have an offsite wedding- just curious. I thought of that too initially way back when i was first looking but decided against. Quote: Originally Posted by MissyR I'M BAAACKKK! Hi ladies and gents! Sounds like you had a great time. can't wait for pics! Glavas: Regarding the IPOD- I believe when you rent the "sound system" It's something like $400 (don't quote me) and it included any wires etc and someone from SWANK to run your ipod. BTW you have to do it this way. I don't think that you can sidestep the sound system part. Kelly was doing this I think so maybe she will respond when she gets back from her wedding.

I know you were looking for an AI, you should check out Victoria HOuse in Belize or Royal in Playa Del Carmen. Both look amazing. If you really want to go crazy, check out Rosewood in Rivera Maya, Wowzer Am I going to see you today Yamille are you going to happy hour on the 23rd The Rosewood Mayakoba is insane looking. I was planning on going to happy hour but for some reason I had a different date before classes started for me again. I can't be there on the 23rd cause I have a late class. boo.

I am 99% positive that the fantasy centerpieces are the hurricane lamps. I am not sure about the stones- but I may bring those down. Initially I was looking at center pieces that were like $85 each and decided against. When i asked about candle lighting ( i love tons of candles too) Elisa told me that the best ones are hurrican candles because the tealights tend do blow out easily since there is such a strong breeze on the terrace. I also want to find out how to dim the terrace lights. I was thinking maybe paper lanterns? Someone posted some LED paper lanterns (I need to find that thread again) Hmm fanny maybe we could split the cost since you are there right before me?? I am leaning towards a paper OOT bag. I don't know yet- again it's a bout minimal packing for me so we'll see.

Would love to know if anyone else gonna be in Playa del Carmen May 24-31st. Happy planning I looked at the Tides too. My friend raved about it. He is a flight attendant and travels a ton. I think you will love it. Our plan is to leave paradisus and then go to Al Cielo hotel for 3nt and then go further south to a place called Nueva vida de ramiro. The second one is an eco lodge with and not super glam but very remote and romantic and also came highly recommended. Solar powered electricity and bungalow right on the beach. I am so excited that the deposits have been wired and I am done with the honeymoon planning portion!!!!! We could not decide. France-Belize-Tulum-France-Belize-tulum. I think this will be wonderful. I'm so excited.

I sent mine out a while ago - August I think. This is because my people are procrastinators though. I have had many RSVP's saying that they are coming and most have still not booked yet!

Bath & Body Works Travel Shower Gel
yamille replied to Rhonda's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Good find! They have good deals lately. I'm holding off on buying stuff still cause I don't know how much to buy but I'm tempted. -
Hmm I don't know what sort of update to give really but people are finally starting to book and it's super exciting! We have RSVP's rolling in too. - We put deposits on hotels for our honeymoon. We are just heading down to Tulum for some seclusion and adventure. We are staying at "Al Cielo" hotel 3nt and "Nueva Vida de Ramiro" 3nt. Glad that is all out of the way. We couldn't make decisions for the longest. - What is everyone doing about mariachis? Are you using the hotel ones or do you have an outside vendor for that to suggest? I just can't get over the $1200 for 45 minutes pricetag but we really want them. We are trying to figure out a better way. - As far as colors.. I'm not being super duper crazy about them but trying to stick with the invitation colors we used which were chocolate brown, an apricot orange and aqua blue accent. - i have also decided to not spend extra money on centerpieces. I think I want to go with the fantasy candle centerpiece and then maybe add something else.. but I don't want to pay for mega centerpieces. I am going to let the beach be the "centerpiece". I went to 2 weddings in december and was paying attention to how unimportant the centerpieces really were. (But that's just me..) - I am worried about having to bring down a lot to Mexico because I am the worst packer. Even when we go away for a weekend I overpack- so this scares me. - I am going to wait till our rsvp date (2/15) to start pulling together OOT bags and stuff cause I have no idea how much to buy. * Fanny - I just realized that we arrive to paradisus on May 19th.. you will be married!
-
Yeah cinco de Mayo is more of an americanized thing. If you are in Cancun though.. they may cater to that whole idea- kwim?
-
I think you WILL be exhausted but I'm going to be honest... and I think you should tough it out and go to her shower. It's only 1 day of being super tired but I feel like these things (weddings!) can make everyone really sensitive (me included) and if you are her dear friend i think you should go. Plus.. i am assuming that she will be going to your DW and then would be angry for you not going to something in your hometown?

I thought I'd be happier...
yamille replied to ~*~Margie~*~'s topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
As everyone has mentioned... not everyone has the "OH MY GOSH I'M IN LOVE WITH THE DRESS" moment. What I try to remember is that a wedding is not about a dress. It's about you and your FI declaring your commitment to each other in front of loved ones. I try to tell myself that if everything else is in place emotionally- i will feel beaoutiful in my dress. Don't get me wrong cause I understand teh weight struggle- believe me- but I have been doing a number on my self and it's not worth sacrificing my happiness to look good for the dress. Focus on eating healthy and moving your body so that you feel good. It may make you feel differently. -
If you need a few more takers still I might be interested for 50. Can you post the 3 designs or a screenshot of them maybe? If it's too much trouble I underdstand. Thanks! Great idea btw.

Congratulations Kelly. I hope you and Ron have a beautiful day!

I'll see you all on the 19th! Thanks for setting it up again Kathy

I'm not sure how many guests you're trying to accomodate so I can't say how much you should get. I only had 40 guests and we had enough for our purposes (though one more bag would have been great to have!) Hope this helps! Thanks that is perfect. I am counting on 30 or so guests. yay! I get excied too when people book. so fun!

Hi Jeannie, You do not NEED to book through a travel agent to have your wedding at the paradisus. I chose to do this so that I did not need to be in charge of my guests.Too stressful for me. I gave them that option. They are also free to book on their own. I did that before finding this site but had I not I would have used one of the TA's on here because they are so destination wedding savvy. You can click up top and see. As far as Perla- I think she is extremely overworked from what everyone has gathered. Most brides have said that she is really on point when it gets down to the day of the wedding though. I emailed her a lot initially and then figured once my date got closer I would get in contact with her again. I would wait a week and if you want to just check on an availability of a date then maybe call her if you have not done so already. Good luck with the planning! These pages are full of really useful info

I have thought about this a lot. I am keeping my last name as my middle name cause I don't have a middle name anyway! This is so I am not completely getting rid of my last name. I'm sllightly attached but not in a major way so I though this might work. It's weird thinking of being Mrs. Mason because that's HIS mom! There will be less confusion if we all have the same last name when we have kids though- that was my thinking.
