Our hotel The Azul Fives has a $500 fee per day if we decide to bring in any outside vendors. This applies to any Karisma resort..The Azul Blue, The Azul Sensatori, El Dorado Royale, El Dorado Seaside Suites..etc

First off..I put this thread in this catagory because it said photos..so I'm sorry if I have this is the wrong area...and mods feel free to move this if you need to. Ok so I am really confused!! Today I spoke with the wc that I am working with from the Azul Fives (Karisma resorts) and I was told that Claudia Rodrigez is on the preferred list of vendors for all of the Karisma resorts, which would wave the $500 outside vendor fee if she were to be our photographer. I was super excited about saving the extra $500. Well today I received an email back from Claudia that said this..."we do have an agreement with Karisma resort to work on their properties BUT the rates to work there are a little different from the ones we apply in other resorts". I am so bummed and confused! My FI and I already thought it was streching our budget by paying the $3,350 for 8 hours. But I was totally willing to pay that because I love Claudia Rodrigez's work!!! So now I am quoted $4,235 for 8 hours..that's almost $900 more!! I'm sure this has been an issue before with other brides! I'm just curious if anyone here knows why they charge more for Karisma resorts?? I'm so sad!!!

First off.. Is it too early to be shopping for bridesmaid dresses..we are getting married Oct,17..09?? Secondly...I'm not quite sure what to do because two of my bridesmaids live out of the country. My sister (MOH) lives in Hong Kong, and another one of my bridesmaids lives in Mexico. How am I going to do fittings for them and Third..I really like the color green. Our wedding colors are chartreuse,teal and brown. I know not that many people are fans of charteuse but I really want that to be the color for my bridesmaid dresses. I have searched high and low and have not been able to find any cute dresses in that color. I am looking for something tea length. Any suggestions Thanks girls!

So my FI and I just got our confirmation date today for our wedding!! We will be getting married at the Azul Fives in Playa Del Carmen on October 17th,'09!! I am so excited. Am I the only Azul Fives bride?

Dear Jessi (my sister), Come home already. I never imagined planning a wedding without my sister. You have been traveling the world for too long now and I need you!! I honestly think that I havent been as giddy about this whole wedding because you arent here. You are my best friend, so doesn't it make you sad that you are missing out on all of this? I know you are living your dream, but 1 year turned into three and you have one more year on your teaching contract. I feel selfish about wanting you back, but you are my MOH and I won't see you until the week before the wedding. Come home...it's not fair. Love, Erica

I am on the hunt for a photographer and need your opinions...My FI and I are getting married at the Azul Fives resort in Playa Del Carmen in Oct. 09,and are looking for a photographer located around that area. After looking at the photography from our resort I am just going to say screw it and pay the $500 outside vendor fee, because I want some kick ass photography!! So far I have looked into Claudia Rodrigez,Elizabeth Medina, and Cecilia Dumas. Do any of you know of any other photographers in that area We just want to make sure that we check everyone out before making a decision. We are looking at spending no more than $3,000. I wouldn't ship..just think if you didn't get the dress to vegas on time...you never know with the mail. carry it on, we had two brides on the last flight we took to new york who had their carry on's and dresses..you should be fine!

Hi Ashley, I say if you are worried sick about it, change resorts. Just think about having to worry about that all year?? The same thing happened to me I knew someone who went to the resort that I wanted for a wedding and they had a bad experience, then I started hearing reviews on the wc. My fi and I switched our resort and I have felt so much better...word of advice GO WITH YOUR GUT FEELING!! Best of luck to you in your planning!!
