I've been shopping like crazy for miscellaneous clothes for honeymoon and also the week before the wedding. I'm SO ready for the wedding to be done with!

POLL: What are your colors?

Is the La Isla pool the "main" pool? I think I remember that when I took a tour last year. We're designing our weekend itinerary and We're trying to figure out which pool to tell people to meet us at each day. I like that idea of meeting at a bar on the first day! I think that is what we will do....since everyone will be coming in at different times. By the way, did you have a favorite bar to go to? We're thinking we'll meet everyone for drinks a few of the nights at the martini lounge and then take off from there....thoughts?

Yes, I happen to be discussing this with Valeria this week. She told me that if you bring any flowers from outside the hotel/another florist, you will be charged the $500 fee. Also, for some reason, she also told me that if I choose to display my own centerpieces, there is a set up fee for that too!

Rhonda replied to montegobay09's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I sent out an email requesting dinner selection and shoe size. Out of 80 people, only one person questioned the shoe size! I just told them it was a surprise. -
Hi Ayita! I'm with you!! We share the same wedding date!!! I can't believe how quickly our date is coming...it's really starting to hit me now! We leave 5 weeks from yesterday! My mom is flying in (as we speak) to help with wedding stuff and my bridal shower on Sunday. Lot's to do! Good luck to you!

Thanks, Natalie...I will definitely keep that in mind. I'm trying not to stress about it, but, it's just so frustrating.. By the way, your pictures are beautiful!!! Looks like you had an amazing day! You look gorgeous! I have a few questions... Where did you have your reception at? You said it was windy and the centerpieces were blowing all over the place. Also, did you buy the sandbox for your placecards from the hotel? I am looking for something just like that, but, Valeria sent me a different picture. Also, did you use the DJ or ipod for your reception? What did you use for music at your ceremony? Thanks!

We are bringing our own menu cards for the reception. But, I was told that for our rehearsal dinner (free dinner) that they would have menu cards made for us. I will be sure to check on this when I get down there. For the placecards, I am using a box filled with sand (bought from Valeria) and then I will be putting these "real shell" placecard holders that I bought online in the box. On a side note, I just need to vent about this because I know other brides have had this same experience. After i told Valeria that I wanted to do my own centerpieces, she wrote me yesterday: "....however you won't be able to display them as this is not allowed by the hotel, as you may interfere with operational activities, and there are sometimes hazardous materials at the locations (cleaning products, water on the floor) which is risky for you and your guests. Therefore, there will be a set up fee to display the centerpieces, and we must prepare a release form in which you remove any responsability to LOMAS TRAVEL AND / OR KARISMA RESORTS for any malfunction, and / or accident that can occur due to the centerpieces you will arrange for reception ( the centerpieces might be too narrow and due to the wind they might fall) as we are at an open air location, you know." I am in complete shock! I don't even know what to say....ridiculous?

Or, did you have them actually put it in the mail and send it to your home?

I'm wondering how this turned out...or for others who did this...did you have the guests send it from the wedding location or when they got home? Also, how long did it take to get the postcards? Also, did you get a good response from everyone? I'm just thinking some people might forget to do it...

WoW! Your day is coming up soon, Dreamgirl08!!! You must be SO excited!! We are having 81 guests and we're doing a private event. They want to charge me $5 per person for a set up fee for additional items....which is $400! I agree with you...I don't want to ask one of my guests to do it, but, it's a lot of extra money when we're already paying a ton for our guests etc... The only extra stuff I would like set up is our menu and favors at each table setting. Also, i would like to put votive candles on the table. I'll be taking care of the centerpieces. I hate that they try to tack on charges like this, where it does not seem necessary....I mean come on...we're bringing business to their resort by having our wedding there!

Rehearsal Dinner - who to invite?
Rhonda replied to DGG's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Have you considered inviting only wedding party people (and significant others) and very close family members (parents and grandparents only, no aunts/uncles, cousins etc)? I'm not sure if that would help to reduce the number...In my opinion, if you are going to leave out only 10-15 people, then, I would just invite everyone or reduce your rehearsal dinner party. If I were one of the few that were left out, I would probably feel a little hurt. If these people are willing to travel to your wedding, then, they should be included like everyone else. But, if you want to keep it more intimate, then, maybe you could just limit the rehearsal dinner so that people won't feel left out. Or, maybe you can opt to have a cocktail party (no dinner) for your welcome party..which may help reduce the cost -
