  1. oooh I really like your invites! I believe that everyone including the bride and groom are counted in the head count yes. Our photogs were there almost all day and I wanted them to be able to eat too! They had a little table off to the side where they could sit and eat, set their stuff down etc.
  2. I think that depending on when your wedding is you should be just fine with the normal start time of the ceremony. when we got married in April we have no light issues because sunset isn't right away. So in my opinion from March - june you should be just fine because there is more day light. Might be a good idea to move it up from oct-feb. We did though extend the reception by the extra hour because i knew i wouldn't want it to end. so i think if you move up the ceremony and extend the end of the reception you would probably have to pay for 2 extra hours as opposed to the one.
  3. haha I had a HUGE fear of that dang red/green light get through customs systems. I think I had nightmares that I would get the red light! I tried to keep all of my receipts for all of the things I purchased but there was really some that I just didn't have. We ended up with 5/6 bags and huge box that we had checked (full of the OOT bags). It was pretty obvious that we were there for a wedding...I was even ready to whip out my dress and show them! Anyway, none of us in our group got the red light (thank goodness) but the custom guy was verrrrry interested in what was in the box and they wanted to open it. which was fine. they opened the box and saw about 20 straw beach bags. we just said it was for a wedding, the guy looked at us, saw a HUGE wedding dress bag and let us go on. So really no problems at all and I never even did need to show receipts, even though I did have them handy. So really no problems at all, the process of them opening the box and looking in it took less than 2 minutes. I think that they see enough brides/wedding parties come through that they just know that you are not going to sell your bags of wedding crap. I would just try to keep as many of your receipts as possible handy just in case you do need them and be ready to show them that dress too! hee hee you'll be fine, even if you do get the red light!
  4. Hi Nicole welcome to the forum be sure to read through the main las caletas thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/51931/las-caletas-couples-post-here-all-lc-brides-please-read-1st-post-red-text I think a lot of your questions will be answered there. You are not crazy to be planning a 2011 wedding. I think there are several LC brides who planned their wedding start to finish in less than 6 months. So many of the details are taken care of and handled by LC that you really don't have much to do. good luck
  5. dang forgot something.... I meant to add that I would LOVE to do the Rhythms of the Night tour for new year's eve one year. that would be AH-mazing! http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/tours/rhythms-of-the-night/new-years-eve-party
  6. Wow so if the Mods have done a lot of BS (in your opinion) then why are you still hanging around on here? I mean isn't your wedding over and done with? Yes my wedding is long past as well but the people I have met on here keep me around. I mean if you are so angry with the mods then why must you keep coming around? The drama with the SB was weeks ago...wow you hold that big of a grudge for something on the internet?! (oh well I see she can't come around anymore...that is probably better for everyone!)
  7. First, congrats! Second, I think that as long as you healthy you should continue with your wedding as planned. or maybe see if you could move it up? if that is an option of course. Other than that I dont have much else to respond with but I was able to dig up a couple of older threads that you should read. People in the same situation as you http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/37598/omg-i-just-had-a-positive-home-pregnancy-test http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/37750/pregnant-now-how-much-to-change-our-wedding-plans http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/25226/i-think-that-i-m-going-to-explode-if-i-don-t-get-this-out Like I said they are older threads but maybe it will help you to read what some other girls went through!
  8. great pics everyone! I want to go back every time I see the pics too! Horegan, Kelley will contact you about a month or so before hand. In the meantime get all of your decisions ready to give to her and that will help her out I am sure. If you have any inspiration pics of what you want your wedding to look like save them all in a folder and then send them to kelley all at once when she contacts you to start working out the minor details
  9. wait, your wedding isn't until November 2011? So about a year away? Is there a reason you have to have people RSVP so early?! Are rates/flights out already for November 2011? I had people booking flights and hotel for our wedding 3 days before we left. Yep that is right, they never RSVP'd or anything pretty much just showed up. That just goes to show you that people are probably not quite ready to book/commit to going to your wedding just yet.
  10. hooray! have a fab wedding and enjoy ever second of it! When the time comes, you will book Fernando through Kelly. Kelly will handle all of the logistics about getting out to LC and reserving him and such. In the mean time I think for the brides hair and make up he is right around $200 although a more recent bride can probably chime in on that.
  11. you cannot open the attachment because you do not have enough posts. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/48545/update-1-18-2010-downloading-attachments also just so you know, it is against the rules to ask for it.
  12. I really like it! I think it looks great on you! What did your first dress look like? Which one do YOU love more? that is the most important thing. If you like this second one better then go with and stick to your guns and don't listen to what others are saying to you! it is your wedding afterall!
  13. congrats! everything looks great and I am sure your guests will love all the details! can't wait to see pics!
  14. oh my goodness I dont think I have ever read this thread before! good work digging it up, now let's revive it!!! Ok I will add mine....I have two standout moments. One pretty similar to Ann's. As we were walking down from the bridal casita to the ceremony, I was with my dad and flower girl (who didn't want to leave my side). Nicole stopped us right before the curve you make to head down the aisle, as we all three stopped I remember hearing the music I picked out playing (somewhere over the rainbow). My litttle flower girl then made the curve to head down the steps as as my dad and I waited. As she made the turn we could hear everyone go "awwwwwww" at the same exact time. It was at that moment that I realized it was happening and all real. I then started my walk (even though I did peek at the set up), to see the ceremony site, with my husband standing at the end of the aisle and all of our family and friends too was AH-mazing! my second moment was during the ceremony, as I was holding my hubbys hands I took a moment and looked out over the ocean with PV in the distance and just closed my eyes and soaked it all in for a second. The weather was perfect, the waves were crashing on the rocks and I was marrying the man of my dreams and having the wedding I dreamed of too. I will never forget that moment either.
  15. Hi Kara, I don't know if I can be of much help because I didn't have a large group and I didn't get married at the palace so I am not sure about the transportation question (our guests just took cabs from the airport) So I know that having a reception on the beach is a possibility but I am not sure of how many people they can do that for. The other option I think was a conference room? But again I am not positive on that one sorry! I really am no help, maybe someone else can chime in
  16. On the invites I sent out months before I just put the time that the ceremony started at LC. Then as we got closer I put a day of timeline in the pre-travel pack and also again in the OOT bags when the guests arrived. We sent out a lot of invites knowing that the people wouldn't come so I figured the minor details (such as the boat departing earlier) wouldn't be necessary for people not attending to know.
  17. Everything looks great! Have a wonderful wedding trip! Thank you for posting a planning thread! these really help B2B's!
  18. there is an entire thread dedicated to Dreams PV. Have you tried searching for your answers in that thread and/or looking there? http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/29192/dreams-puerto-vallarta-thread
