  1. Fabulous review, you looked absolutely stunning!!! Thats very much for posting, it's helped a lot! Glad your day went well xx Congratulations xx
  2. Hey girls, been reading through this thread... Is it true that DJ Mannia is the DJ used in the package for Dreams Cancun?? I'm getting married on 14th July 2009 and have booked the DJ with Dreams Cancun, they are charging $924 for 3 hours... Does anyone know whats included in that price?? By the sounds of it they do a good job though! L x
  3. Hi everyone, am looking for some advice on the DJ that Dreams provide..... We are getting married there on 14th July 2009 and am trying to decide what to do. It's costing $924 for the DJ which seems excessive, he only plays for 3 hours!! I would be interested to hear what other brides are having at the reception?? I'm considering just using our own IPOD & docking station to reduce costs... would be great to hear from anyone about their experiences. L XX
  4. Hi Jamie, We went with the Dreams Ultimate package, it has worked out more expensive for us as there are 31 people going.... the package only includes 20 people therefore you have to pay extra per person for the reception. We are not going to use the photographer they provide, we've hired Claudia Rodriguez for our day so Gabriela (WC) has gave us the gazebo decoration free as a result which has brought the cost down slightly. I'm going to see what I can do over there too, i'm sure I can get the price down a bit more! Overall my experience with Dreams and the wedding coordinators have been good and I can't wait to go.... It's just the cost kind of mounts up if you want all the little 'extras' and you have quite a lot of people going! Just let me know if you want me to send you stuff via e-mail i've got details on the Dreams packages and the additional costs etc.... When you thinking of getting married? Dreams really is beautiful, im sure the cost etc will be well worth it!!

  6. Hi! So i've been in contact with Gaby (WC) at Dreams and she says if we don't use the photography in the package we can exchange it for the gazebo decoration or the sound system for the ceremony. Both are a lot less than what the photography is worth but its all because it comes as a package..... Anyone had the same response? What would you girls choose??!! xxx

  8. Hi, thanks very much for the advice.. It sounds like good value, i'm just worried about the quality of the pics that's all. I've e-mailed a couple of photographers to ask for details on their packages but i don't know if it's going to be too expensive!! I realise there is a lot of different threads on photographers etc but would be grateful for any Dreams Cancun brides out there to share what photographers they have used or are thinking of using for their weddings to help me decide!!..... Thanx
  9. Hi everyone, I've been in contact with Daniella, WC at Dreams Cancun trying to sort out details for my wedding on 14th July 09.. I asked who the wedding photographer would be that comes with the package and she advised Juan Navarro - Juanhphotos was just wondering if anyone has used this photographer at their wedding or knows anything about them? They only provide 50 photos so i'm possibly looking at bringing in an outside photographer (have been in contact with Claudia Rodriguez). It's all very expensive though when you start bringing in outside photographers!! Any advice would be helpful, i'm stuck just now and don't know what to do as I know getting good pictures is a big part of the day!! Louise x
  10. Hi!! Thanks for your replies. I got my contract through via e-mail from Gaby. We went with the Dreams Ultimate package as I thought it would have most stuff we needed in it which is $2650. She sent through the contract adding on: - $198 for the sound system - $924 for a DJ at the reception - $307 for the extra 11 guests (who are all staying at the hotel) for the cocktail hour - $585 for the extra 11 guests (who are all staying at the hotel) for International open bar for 3 hours for reception. - around $300 for 3 bridesmaid bouquets and 1 flower girl bouquet - $630 for Blood tests, translation of birth cert and Marriage cert in total it's working out at least $5594, more than double the wedding package mainly because I have 31 guests going and the package only covers 20. They are all staying at the hotel but as we get our own waiters etc we need to pay extra which is fair enough but it all seems quite expensive and no doubt there may be a couple more extras when we get over there!! What seemed like the cheaper options is turning out to be pretty expensive Has anyone else had any similar experiences? Thanks for the advice with the Ipod, I just wanted a DJ as I didn't want to have to worry about anything when I get over there but I don't even know if the DJ is any good and would be worth all that money?? The sound system I thought we would need so that our guests can hear what is going on as it might be quite noisy right next to the ocean!! Ps. What thread will I find Kat's review on?? Thanks again L x
  11. Hi everyone, i'm looking for some advice from those of you who have been married at Dreams Cancun or are in the process of organizing your wedding!! Our wedding is in July 2009, I have just recently sent the deposit and filled out the Q & A form for the wedding and have today recieved a copy of our contract. We have booked the Dreams Ultimate package ($2650) as I thought it included quite a lot in it, I realised that we would probably need to pay extra but the price on the contract has DOUBLED!!!! We are not having anything fancy, there are 31 guests so need to pay extra for 11 as it only covers 20, fair enough. We said we would like a DJ for evening reception OMG how expensive is that!!! Also you have to pay for the sound system for the ceremony on top of that!! The list goes on and on... Just to see if everyone is in the same situation?? If so does anyone have any advice as to getting the cost down a bit or negotiate with what's in the package?? Just a bit surprised at the price...... Thanks for the help!! Louise

  13. Just noticed this new thread thank god there are other brides going to Dreams next year! Our wedding date is 14th July 2009!!!!!! We are having 32 guests, still deciding what time to have the wedding at and where to hold the reception Anyone got any advice or what's all your plans? Lou xxx
  14. Hi Kelly, That's good, i'll probably see you there then!! Hope we do get good weather! This forum's really good, there is loads of people who have had experiences with Dreams Cancun. I take it you are getting married at the gazebo? Have you decided where to have your reception? I just got pics through from the hotel of all the locations and can't decide yet where to have it!! L x
  15. Hi everyone, finally booked our wedding for Dreams Cancun!! Fly out on 6th July 2009 and have requested the 14th July 2009 for the wedding!!! I'm so glad it's finally done now I can start actually planning for the day! We just booked a basic room in the hotel for 2 weeks (will try and upgrade directly with the hotel) and are then moving onto Le Blanc, Cancun for a week of relaxation afterwards! We booked the basic wedding package too because we got it free as we booked over 5 rooms in the hotel, we are planning on upgrading to the Dreams Ultimate package when we have enough cash to pay the 50% deposit!! L xxx
  16. We are getting married in July 2009 at Dreams Cancun (don't have a set date as yet) then we are going to Le Blanc for a week after. In all we are actually staying for 3 weeks will cost us a fortune but will be worth it I hope! We have kids coming too so that's why we didn't go for Le Blanc but think it would be way to expensive anyway!! Think we will probably have about 40 guests coming with us, some staying in the same hotel as us, some not. I'll keep you posted then about what we book etc we haven't actually booked the whole thing through the travel agents yet, they said the earliest we can get it booked is the middle of this month!! L xx
  17. Thanks for all your help!! I'm sure i'll have more questions to come! I've contacted Claudia and let her know the situation, our travel agent has told us the earliest booking will be when the brochure for next year comes out which should be the middle of this month so not long to wait now! I think the price of the package is reasonable, i've looked at sooo many other places and they are all pretty much the same if not dearer!! Good advice about the lobby bar, that might be a plan for saving a wee bit of money!!! Lol 2 scottish weddings, i've persuaded my FI not to wear a kilt, think we are now going for a nice light suit! xx L
  18. Thanks for the replies!! That is weird you have chosen the same place!! We actually looked at the Moon Palace too but eventually decided on Dreams Cancun because of it's location! I really wanted the wedding at Le Blanc, it just looks soooo good but again we have a few children coming so have to cater for them too! Have checked the prices with the travel agent for Le Blanc, it is pretty expensive but we think it will be worth it cause it looks fantastic!! When are you getting married?? L xx
  19. Hi everyone, Am currently organising my wedding, we are getting married in Dreams Cancun in July 2009 and am looking for somewhere in Cancun to have a week's honemoon after the wedding, just the two of us to relax and get pampered. Has anyone been to or heard about Le Blanc Spa resort in Cancun? Have been looking at it as it is adults only and it looks lovely!! Any advice would be good Louise xxx
  20. Thank God there are people going through what i'm going thru!! When she says 50% up front is that just for what package you want ie. 50 % of $2650 for the biggest package? or do you need to include all the extras and know numbers at this stage (I don't know numbers as there are so many people that they MIGHT come!) Think we are going for the biggest package cause it includes decoration etc of the gazebo (there is a huge charge for that too!) and it includes a Mexican trio which again has a big charge! We are booking through the travel agents and can't book everything till the middle of this month, it's so frustrating as I have been in contact with Claudia about dates and she has confirmed a couple of dates that are free for us but I can't go ahead and book it until we book through the Travel agents!! I'm scared the dates won't be there when we finally book!! The travel agent was explaining that if we book one of the higher grade rooms for the 2 weeks we can get the lowest package free, is there any compromise to get the biggest package at a reduced rate if you are booking one of the dearer rooms?? Thanks again xx
  21. Hiya, thanks so much for your reply, that makes it a bit clearer. So for 20 guests staying at the hotel the package will include the reception dinner and drinks then if there are any extra people we pay an additional charge per person even if they stay at the hotel. Makes sense with the service etc we get privately for the reception. How long do they give you for the reception? Did you have to pay for additional hours? I notice that there is a charge per person of $10 + 15% service and 10% tax per person per each additional hour for an open bar is that right? What package did you go for? Was there a lot included in that or was there a lot of extras you have to pay for? Sorry there are so many questions!!!!!! Thanks again for your help xxx Louise
  22. Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of advice on Dreams Cancun (can't find what I need on the other threads!!). Am planning on getting married in Dreams Cancun in July 2009 and have been in contact with Claudia to see how much this is all going to cost! We have around 20 -30 guests coming and most of them are planning on staying All inclusive in the hotel. Claudia has sent me prices for the wedding packages and it includes extra charges per person for food and drink on the day on an hourly basis. Is this right? The guests will be all inclusive anyway so do we need to pay extra on the day? Seems a bit silly!! Thanks for the help xx L
  23. Thanks for that your pics are gorgeous! Was it Claudia Rodriguez you went with for your wedding? Louise
  24. thanks everyone for welcoming me hopefully this site will help me decide for sure on our wedding destination!!
