  1. I just started 2 1/2 weeks ago and I've lost 6 pounds already. I really like it. My cousin is on it too and she's lost 20 pounds in 4 months. The food is surprisingly good. However beware of the sweedish meatballs YUCK!!! Jenny is expensive but it works and it's convenient.
  2. I'm getting married there in november. I haven't dealt with Charm to much since I booked the date with her. My travel agent asked for a confirmation so I called Charm to send me a letter that the date was confirmed and she sent it within 2 hours. If there is something you need immediately from Charm, I suggest you call her directly instead of emailing her. She has responded to a few emails I sent within the past few months but I find that when I call she is willing to help. I just called 2 weeks ago to change the time and I spoke with her assistant Roxanne. luv2love just got married there in May and she said Roxanne and Charm will take care of you when you get there. She had a fabulous wedding. If there is anything I can help you with just PM me.
  3. hi everyone! i just wanted to share with all of the november brides, i tried on my wedding dress today...it was so exciting and made it more real that our wedding is coming soon. i hope everyone's planning is going well.
  4. Congrats! I love Italy especially Siena. I lived in Siena for 4 months when I was in college. We're trying to go back next year for our 1 year anniversary and to visit my Italian Mama (the lady I lived with when I was studying there).
  5. wow you girls are on top of it! i have barely just thought about my invitations. since only 18 people are coming...pretty much 90% of the people we invited are coming...i'm sending my invites out in August.
  6. Great thread Alyssa! 1. US (most states including Hawaii) 2. Italy 3. France 4. Switzerland 5. Canada 6. Philippines 7. Mexico 8. China (only Hong Kong though) 9. Bahamas 10. Jamaica...well in November
  7. i say cut it! you look so cute with short hair. i've had my hair this length for 4 years now...it was shorter than what you want before I grew it out again. i've been wanting to cut it but since the wedding is coming up in November i'm keeping it long. but once i get back i'm chopping it off! i can't wait for the change.
  8. great job Danielle! i wish my fi would help out with the invites. i haven't done mine yet! i only need no more than 15 invites anyways. yours came out so nice!!!
  9. I liked Sungold as well but they were booked for my day too. The photographer that they recommended was beyond my budget. I booked Frank Panaro Photography. He's based in Miami however his prices are comparable to those who are based in Negril. His prices include his travel cost. Tell him Christine Gulapan referred you. Here's his website: Miami Wedding Photographers – Frank Panaro Photography and Video I also checked out the following photographers: Brian Design - Photography & Website Design by Brian Nejedly - Ocho Rios, Jamaica Jamaica Wedding and Portrait Photographer-Michael Chen

  11. your dress is beautiful. mine is estimated to be $300 for hemming, taking it in, and the bustle. she told me the bustle will be $150 to $200. anything wedding related is always an eye opener when i see the price!
  12. isn't it such a relief to finally pick a place? congrats and happy planning!
  13. welcome! i'm getting married in Negril too but at Sunset at the Palms. Both resorts you mentioned are very nice! Contact Jennifer TA she is a couples and sandals specialist. She's great to work with! She's been to both properties recently.
  14. hi to all the november 08 brides! what i'm doing so i don't go crazy and freak out is i have set some goals that i need to complete each month. if you want me to send you my checklist, PM me. i'm here for all of you! so far I have: purchased my dress made all my deposits bought the groom's suit purchased wedding bands (we're legally married here in california so don't panic if you do not have yours yet - you have lots of time) purchased beach mats for OOT bags booked photographer found my flower girl dress purchased best man outfit so for May I need to: find shoes purchase my MOH dress - we just found it yesterday! research items for favors for all of you who are making OOT bags - i would suggest buying things here and there starting now through the summer. remember by our wedding date it is already fall/winter so all the cute summer/tropical stuff will be all gone. now that i have revisited my checklist and reread this post looks i have a little OCD in me haha! yeah i'm way too organized. well if anyone of you needs any help - do not hesitate to ask me!

  16. Hi Ladies, We went to the courthouse with one our closest friend and my cousin (my bestfriend). They signed our marriage license as our witness. My cousin actually came during her lunch break. We didn't want to make it a big deal so we didn't invite the parents. So they know our ceremony in Jamaica is our special day. Check with your county's website to see what their requirements are. Some are different. Then we went to lunch with our friend. But my dad decided to take us out for a nice dinner that night. So in a way it was special but everyone knows that Jamaica is our real day. Hope this helps. I can help you out more in you live in Orange County in California.
  17. Ok here is what I'm doing. I'm already legally married since Feb of this year. I am getting married in Jamaica in November. So I believe we are in similar situations. Since I am legally married my husband is able to put me on his insurance plan. (he did, I'm fully insured) I am not changing my name till later on so that my passport matches my ticket. You do not have to change your last name. On the marriage certificate it will state your maiden name. Also, I suggest you talk to your wedding coordinator about it too because it may reduce your wedding cost. For me since I am already married it will save us money on the legalities in Jamaica (not too sure about Mexico). Our wedding coordinator is giving us a renewal package which is the same thing as a regular wedding package minus all the legal paperwork. She is still treating it like a real wedding. So how I see it is you have two options: Option 1: get legally married - do not change your last name so you don't have to get a new passport/id/etc (less stress) Option 2: get legally married - change your last name and change all your passport/id -- if you already purchased your airline ticket DO NOT change your last name. Your passport must match the name on your ticket. I say go with option 1. You do not have to change your last name till later. I hope I answered your question.
  18. i had the same issue however we were upfront especially with both sets of parents that we wanted a small, intimate wedding with our immediate family and our closest friends. we told them who exactly is on the guest list and did not ask their input on who we should invite. we kept it at that. then i got a couple of calls saying oh can i invite so and so. i said no we are keeping our guest list to a minimum. do not feel bad or budge on your guest list. it's your wedding invite who you want!!!
  19. welcome!!! i'm getting married a day before you! however in jamaica. happy planning. this forum is full of great ideas and tons of support!
