  1. Welcome back and congrats on your wedding! cant wait to read a review and see pics of course
  2. Congratulations and welcome!! Choosing a resort in the Caribbean is so hard bc there are so many beautiful places to visit: Puerto Rico, Jamaica, amd Dominican Republic to name a few. By the way, for our honeymoon we stayed at Excellence Punta Cana which is adults-only...it was a nice resort. Good luck deciding

Anyhoo, I'm finally awake & going through my TV recordings & I was looking for The Starter Wife & just realized that last week was the season finale! crap! I luv this show too!! It's great! I know I can always get a good laugh when I watch it!! And yes the changing of the husband was weird at first but I'm still hooked! It's nice to know I'm not the only one watching the show!! yeah it sucks that last week was the season finale, I cant wait til the new episodes start again.
  4. What I would do again: •Marry DH of course •Sticking to a DW no matter what •Wear my great dress & blue shoes •Wear a birdcage veil—it was different and I loved wearing it •Hiring Photosouvenir for photography & video-they were awesome! •DIY invitations-I thought I did a good job •Our wedding color-Choc. brown & baby blue-everything looked nice together •Programs and Fans—I saw guests using them while they waited under the hot sun! •OOT Bags •Get married at home first—less hassle and money! •Write our own vows •Use Smartypants Boutique for the bridesmaids spa wraps-they turned out great! •The Guestbook Store custom guest book, we love reading everyone’s responses •Spent the night before seperately and not see each other on the day of the wedding until I walked down the aisle with my dad What I would do differently: •I really wish we would’ve invested more on our OOT bag contents; I feel like I really dropped the ball on this one and our bags looked cheap (IMO). But DH tries to console me by saying that most guests were not expecting anything so it was a nice surprise anyway •Prepare a list of must have shots for Photosouvenir; they did an awesome job and capture many moments but I wish I would’ve also told her that I wanted more pictures of us with my family (since so few came) and with our daughter. •TTD! I didn’t get to do one & I regret it every day •Get trip insurance on DJ & prepare a play list just in case DJ doesn’t show up (like what happened to us!) •I would not procrastinate and wait to the last minute to do all the DIY stuff! •Hire the Dominican Trio like I originally wanted but didn’t do (don’t know why) but I heard them and they sound great. •Pick a different city for the honeymoon. We ended up being 10 mins. down the road from our wedding resort. I wish I would’ve been more creative and chose a different town so we can explore more of the Dominican Republic instead of just Punta Cana (we were there 11 days) •Mail a “Getting Ready†booklet or letter for guests prior to them leaving. •Have someone (relative or friend) in charge the day of the wedding---to make sure that things are going smoothly while I’m getting dressed or away taking pictures (bc the WC sucked at doing her job, sorry!). •Have a sand ceremony; I also dropped the ball on this one, I waited too long and then couldn’t order the containers, etc on time  What I wouldn’t do again: •Work with Lissette from Dreams Resort. I don’t even want to elaborate (that’s a thread all on its own) •I wouldn’t let family and friends comments/opinions get to me about our decision to do a DW
  5. oh your right, it did start like a mini-series...I didnt watch it then. But now as I see the old episodes versus the new "show" episodes, a few people are different like her husband's character (which kinda throws me off but i'm still hooked).
  6. poor, innocent little girl. she has no fault in anything and look what happens to her. they police reported that they found google searches on Casey's computer of "neck breaking" and "chloroform" (sp?). its heartbreaking & hard to swallow!
  7. Well so far that makes 2 of us LadyP-who love the show...LOL. I like Debra Messing, mostly because I'm a huge fan of Will & Grace. Its funny how on W&G her bestfriend is gay and on SW she also has a gay bestfriend! I'm really getting into the show though, I hope it does well and the storyline gets better.
  8. mmm, Christmas cookies!! wow, I thought I was the only one who hasnt started her shopping (gulp!). Its stopped snowing over here but I hear more snow is coming on Sunday!
  9. Does anyone else watch The Starter Wife? I started watching it late but I caught up by watching the beginning episodes online. If you do watch, what is your feedback on the show??

That huge hill your on sounds scary when its snowing. When we were kids my dad used to take us to this park where that was a big hill and we'd go sledding...it was fun. I'd probably be too scared now, LOL
  11. This was a tear-jerker! So touching, so beautiful! They did a great job, definitely a great investment.
  12. Congratulations and happy planning!
  13. So they actually let us leave early from work...at about 3:15pm they decided to close but of course i didnt leave til about 3:40pm, just trying to finish things up. The roads are not pretty...this morning was nice, white, (and yes Yari, fluffy ) but now it felt more like ice chips pounding the car & my head as I cleaned off my car! DH is watching Oprah, Nia is playing her Ds....it feels good to be home "early" for a change. Hope everyone keeps warm.
  14. The big snow storm is headed our way....5-8" of snow mixed in with some sleet. How is everyone preparing and what do you plan to do once all the snow comes? I'm actually about to head to work where they will probably keep me captive until the very last minute!! No one cares about our safety when its treacherous outside, they just want to continue business as usual. Hopefully they will let us out a little early but I'm not holding my breath!!! Afterwards when I get home and if its not too dark out, I will take my daughter outside to play in the snow, which she loves. But I love nothing more than staying in watching movies with my DH while I watch the snow fall through our window. I love winter!! I dont like shoveling but thats a different story...LOL

I had this issue come up several months ago with Photosouvenir and Dreams (maybe for different reasons but the same decision) and the WCs kept telling me no, yet the AmResorts corporate office said they were allowed. finally I was able to get a manager's name at Dreams, who assured me (in writing) that there would be no issue having Photosouvenir enter the resort. I asked them to cc the WCs on that email so that we are all on the same page and he did. After that, the WCs never bothered me again about the photographer. I hope it all works out for you and the other Melia brides.
  16. awww, what a cute lil bike! that was so sweet of her...and btw, congrats on the second baby.
  17. absolutely gorgeous photos, congrats!! I arrived at Dreams on 11/17, we probably walked right by one another and never knew.

I found those blue shoes for the guys and luckily it went well with their linen suits (phew!!).

Believe it or not, the first time I saw the bridal party all dressed up together was at the wedding...and I was blown away at how good they all looked and how everything matched up nicely, it was a good feeling.
  20. Looks like you had a good time and lots of gifts...I like the bride & groom pinatas!
  21. Celina, I don't know how I missed this but its a great review. I'm sorry things didnt turn out as expected with the photographer. I agree with Maura, you should write a letter in regards to the photographer.
