  1. Yay! I can't believe we leave in just one week! I am so happy I found this forum, I would of been a mess without it. Thank you for all your help, opinions, ideas, and reccomendations! Sorry if I copied you idea and didn't credit you...it all a jumble in my head at this point. -Jamie We will be taking a 6 day 5 night cruise aboard Celebrity Century leaving on 1/17/09 with 31 sailing guests and 2 guests meeting us in Jamaica. Check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t32937 I would love a real one, but with the logistics of a cruise wedding we just won't have the time to run around. I will check into the ones on Etsy. Now I am thinking I might make one. Thanks girls!
  3. That is so insane. It sounds like maybe you shouldn't of invited her to begin with if she could be that cruel. I hope it all works out for you!

If you have seen the umbra frame this will make sense, if you haven't seen it, once you do it will make sense. There are four panes of glass. I did not glue the front piece of glass (so I could remove it to add a picture later onto the 2nd pane). I took out the 3rd piece of glass all together. Then I glued the 2nd and 4th pieces of glass into the frame, so there was a bigger space to pour sand. I don't know what kind of glue I used but it was some all inclusive, use on any type of surface type glue. I just took out the pane of glass, put a line of glue all around the frame and put the glass back in. I then scotch-taped over the area above/between the 1st and 2nd panes of glass so sand would not escape into that area (which it did anyway, but I just took out the 1st pane and wiped it out with a small brush once we got home). All that was left was the space to which you would pour the sand. Funny story - we forgot to take the price tags off the bottom of our vases (that held the sand) so in our pics you can see the white stickers on the bottom. I was pissed about that, but nothing you can do now! Maybe photoshop it out . To get it home, amazingly enough, I carried it on board with me. Otherwise the sand will still spill out and get all mixed up. I kept it upright the ENTIRE time, through customs, on the plane, the WHOLE way. Until we were driving home from the airport, we turned a corner and my purse fell over and it turned sideways. Luckily - no spills!! I will post pictures of our ceremony. It was really cool! Good luck ladies!! Thanks for sharing, we plan on doing the same thing. Do you know how much sand you used?
  5. I just got an email from Macy's today that they are having a luggage closeout sale. Good Luck!
  6. Does anyone have a white orchid hair flower they want to sell If so, let me know your price! I need it by 1/17! Thanks!
  7. Nevermind, I got it to work...I don't even know what I did but it's done and printed.
  8. Quote: Originally Posted by GinalynL FLgator I had the same problem too. I'm not sure if this is the quick way to do it, but you can: Copy and paste your logo onto a new slide Right click on the logo and click on "Paste as picture" From there when you right click on your logo again it should say "Format Picture" as opposed to "Format Object". Let me know if this works for you!! I tried this and it only gave me the option to "paste", not "paste as picture." So I tried saving it as a JPEG than inserting it back into PP and choosing "best scale for slide show there" but I still have the big white area around the logo so I can only fit about 4 on a page instead of 15 like I want. Any other ideas?
  9. This isn't working for me...the "best scale for slideshow" is gray and won't let me choose it. Is this becuase I am not using actual pictures, just text boxes with different fonts? Any ideas?
  10. Ok, so I can't figure out why it won't print in word. So, I went back to PP and make it really big and saved the whole thing as a JPEG. Now it is not so grainy when I print, but I still have the huge white space around the logo, which isn't allowing me to fit the logo in the squares I created so I can cut them easily because the white space covers up everything. How do I fix this??
  11. I tried to save it as a pic first in PP, but it wasn't as clear and when I saved as a JPEG it had a white border around it. How do you save as a pic and it just be the log itself and not the white space around it?
  12. I was trying to make tags in Word with a logo for our fans, and I used Romantique Initials for the main part of the logo, but it doesn't print. When I look at print preview it is there, but when I print it everything but the "L" prints. Ahhhhhhh, why did I wait 2 weeks before we leave to do this!? Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong? tags.doc
  13. I went for a cut and a trial so that I could take pics to show the stylist on the cruise ship. I really liked the style she did in person, but I am not so crazy about it now that I look at pics. When I got home I took it out and played with some other styles, which would obviously look better done by a pro but you get the idea. I plan to incorporate a white orchid somehow. Which one do you like? Any other ideas? these two are how the stylist did it.... here I have it all down... here I have pieces pulled up on each side... here I have just a piece pulled up on one side... here I have the front pulled up... and here it is all swept to the side..
  14. We arranged last minute to have an engagement shoot today...and I am so glad we were able to fit it in before the wedding. A local photographer and graphic designer, Luke Beck, who is expanding his wedding portfolio agreed to meet us at a park. The weather was beautiful and the park was packed, so we had a lot of people to dodge. Luke was great and made us feel really comfortable...if you are a FL bride I would highly recommend contacting him. He sent one teaser pic (below)...I will post the rest when I get them in the next week or so...I can't wait. His website is Luke Beck Photo & Design.
  15. Ok, so I asked the owner of Evita's restaurant in Ocho Rios and here is what she said...Yes, the water is safe to drink here and so is the ice, as a matter of fact all the cruise ships stop in Ocho Rios to buy water and, I always tell people that buying bottled water in Jamaica is a waste of $$$, Jamaica is the 'land of wood and water', that is what the word Xamaica means. Good, one less thing to worry about!
  16. I went to a funeral this year and they had the butterflies to release from a little envelope. Most of them could barely fly and they were just falling on the ground and on people, they seemed very lethargic and weak...its pretty sad. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it.
  17. Thanks, we wont be at a resort, but at a restaurant...I guess I am mostly worried about the ice. Maybe I will just email the restaurant.
  18. My internet searching has led me to believe that the tap water and ice in restaurants is safe to drink in Jamaica. Anyone heard otherwise?
  19. Thanks girls, I have decided to go try it on again after I get my hair trial and have my jewelry. I decided not to shop anymore, since I have enough stress as it is. I think just trying it on again will ease my mind. Thanks for the input!

  21. Thanks for all the input girls! I may stop at one bridal store that I never went to this week, but with going out of town for Christmas I really am strapped for time. It sucks that I didn't figure this out before I spent $210 on alterations! I wish I could tan too, but I am a redhead and I pretty much just burn. Plus, I refuse to bake my skin anymore after having had a couple severely atypical moles removed. I will let you know what I decide! Thanks again!
  22. It sounds like she used acrylic enamel paints, which my aunt uses to paint wine glasses all the time. I used them on a porcelin platter to make a guest signature platter. In order to set the paint you either bake them or let air dry for 21 days. Then they are safe to put in the dishwasher. Let me know if you have any more questions!
  23. I can't even pinpoint the reason, but I didn't "love" my dress at my final fitting last night and I have been thinking about it all day. I am thinking I settled on the wrong dress. Is this normal? SHould I go out and shop a little more to alleviate my worries or will I just make myself crazy? I only have 30 days left! I had to chop my head off cause I looked horrid!!

Us too! We almost weren't going to fly up north to spend Christmas with our families (would of been the first time ever!), but we ended up finding decent prices on airfare and just decided what the heck. I don't post in this thread as much as I should, but here is what we have left to do (and by "we" I mean "I"): wrap fans with ribbon print menus final dress fitting (plus lose an inch so I can breathe) size my band buy wedding makeup find my jewelry finalize/pay all vendors make newsletter for guests decide on TTD and possibly get TTD dress figure out GM and dad gifts find more fillers for OOT bags find FI belt shop for Christmas I feel like I am forgetting something, so I am sure there is more....siiigggghhhhh! I hope this doesn't make me sound like a brat, but I am a little annoyed with my BM. I only have 2, my 12 yr old sister in Maine and my bff from high school who lives in the same town as I (plus her hubby is FI's bff from college and a GM). Well, I was in my bff's wedding and flew in for her bach party and wedding and bent over backwards for her. Well, through the whole planning process she hasn't even asked if I need any help and hasn't even offered to throw a shower or bach party (her and her hubby will use just about any excuse to throw a party). The only thing I have gotten her to help with(and barely) was that she went to my dress fitting the other day. She doesn't work at all and has no kids, but couldn't be bothered with anything that doesn't benefit her. Sorry for the rant, but I have been really disappointed by all my friends through this whole process and needed to share. I wish we had just stuck with our siblings for the bridal party. Ok, enough complaining...I am getting married in less than 2 months...yay!
