Hi all. I'm starting to wonder if some of the resorts I'm looking at in 2 WEEKS are going to want us to quiet down the reception earlier than I would like. Those of you that have your details planned out - how late will they allow music at your resort? Thanks for the info as always!!!

I am doing a site visit in a month and am pretty sure I want to have a destination wedding, but I have also read about some frustrations that can go along with it. I personally (think) I want to have a wedding away because: I am not traditional, I like the idea of getting away before we get married to make it feel more special, all my friends are really invested in going on a group vacation together, I like the idea of fewer people, even though Colorado is gorgeous I think the beach is more different, should be less expensive and we are paying for the wedding ourselves. What were your original reasons to do a destination wedding and did all your expectations come true?

I have had 3 microderms and I actually think it feels really good. Your skin will never feel so clean! They say it feels like a cat's tongue and I agree. I notice a change in my skin, but need to go a few more times. I go to a beauty college and pay only 34 dollars each time. I think it's pretty hard to screw up so I would trust a trainee on this one!

I am slowly becoming obsessed with beach beds (also called bali beds, I believe). They are basically big comfortable loungers for two people (very romantic) and they are often covered. I am wondering which resorts you have all been to actually have these beach beds. Thanks!

I think it looks beautiful on you and that's all that matters in my opinion (and that you're somewhat comfortable is the 2nd thing).

Hello El Dorado brides. I have booked my site visit for El Dorado Maroma the day after we arrive. I am wondering what to expect from Monica when I arrive. Should I ask her to do a tasting? What else have you all done for your site visit with her? Is it reasonable to try to get a room upgrade since we didn't get a discount at all?

We are hoping for a beautiful beach #1!!. We are probably leaning towards All Inclusive and not a lot of resorts right on top of each other. We are foodies, so good food is a must. I am also thinking we would like a smaller resort. I will probably learn more when I'm out there, but beach, food, beatiful scenery are all musts! I'm thinking we'll probably end up having around 50 guests. I really like Tulum, but don't really want the quick weekend visitor to spend too much time traveling. Any opinions and ideas of what to check out while we're there would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to have found all of you. I've been perusing this site for a while now and finally just booked our tickets for our site visit for April 7-13 to Riviera Maya. We haven't chosen a resort yet. I haven't really done any other prep work, but my best friends and I are going to look at dresses in a few weeks and I'm sure I'll get lots of ideas from you all! We're looking at getting married sometime between nov08-feb 09. I'm going to get started making my signature better and posting a pic. Thanks in advance for all the advice and support! I just booked my site visit yesterday but I haven't officially booked the wedding at this hotel yet (I want to see it first) and our wedding probably won't be for another 9 -11 months. Is it still reasonable to expect to arrange a tasting and all these things ahead of time even if I haven't put my deposit down or decided for sure that this resort is the one?

Yes, please let us know. I'm considering that place as well. Hopefull you'll have a picture or two for us as well . My main question is about the beach and can you actually swim in it as an adult. Have fun!

Sergio got back to me in less than 24 hours with a request for more specific dates. I haven't heard back yet but am seriously considering this place. The rooms are amazing, the restaurants seem good. Do you all know if you can swim in the beach there? That is a must for us!! The man I spoke to said yes, but added that a 12 year old who doesn't swim much probably shouldn't but adults would be fine. What does that mean??

Is Cabo Azul swimmable? The hotel is telling me it's swimmable, but I am doubtful.

I think I like both El Dorados. When I look back at my notes from hours and hours of reading reviews, I have No EDD and yes EDSS. I don't remember why exactly. One thing I really love about Royale is that they have those big "beds" that you and your husband to be and lounge on by the pool or the beach. Was there a problem with the beach not being swimmable at EDR?? I'm sure you all remember how hard it is to narrow down a site. Now I'm considering The Royale Cancun - looks like a great hotel - anyone have info on it??

Most likely no kids, not crowded, not sure about the whole all-inclusive thing. I really think primarily I want a beautiful location with a beach you can actually swim in, good food, good service. I would probably prefer a newer hotel if possible. I guess I'm still overwhelmed!!!
