  1. After many hours and much profanity, I sewed my veil. I did many well placed stiches so there is no hem. It looks better but not perfect. It looks like there is an imperfection in the veil but I am sure that the only person who will notice it will be me. Oh and that one other person that will find it necessary to say something to me just because they have to. Thanks for all your suggestions. I am a little less mad at roomba and may use it again soon. The alternative is actually getting out the vaccuum. We will see.
  2. My veil issue does not compare to your problems. I feel so bad for you. The good thing is they should be able too accomodate you else were, not ideal but at least that is something. Maybe it will all be cleared up this week.
  3. I can't believe that Dreams Tulum is shut down. I am so nervous for you Dreams brides. I really hope they re-open soon. I will keep my fingers crossed.
  4. Well, the place that did my dress was closed after I rushed over there. I took it as a sign that I just need to deal with it myself. I bought stuff at Michaels and will get up the nerve to try either tonight or tomorrow.
  5. Well I took it to one seamstress and they were talking about patching it, I walked out of there quickly. I am trying to see if I can take it to the place were my dress was altered. I am probably going to do it myself but I was hoping someone more skilled would do it for me. I will keep you all updated. BTW Laughter is the overwhelming reaction. I think it will be funny in a month but not so much now.
  6. Good for you Yari. I was told by my seamstress not to loose any more weight. I have been trying to hold steady but that is hard too. I leave in a week from today. I did get alot done this weekend but I feel like there is more going onto the list then coming off. I am dealing with the veil situation today. Fingers crossed.
  7. Well FI is at his Bach party and I have been running around getting last minute travel stuff like q-tips. This morning my roomba ate my veil. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29791 I did handle it ok, nothing bridezilla-ish like throw the thing across the room but was tempted. Also, got my bridal cut and color today. We leave in a week from Monday but time is flying. The closer it gets, there is more I find I have to do.
  8. Thanks for the suggestions. I was trying to avoid housework by getting some robot to do it for me. I guess that was it's revenge. I am waiting for my mom to come over and look at it. I am feeling more confident that I can put in a few stitches and close up the hole. It is towards the bottom left. I was thinking of sewing more beads to cover it up but then I will have to do more on the other side to even it out. I told my good friend and she laughed so hard she couldn't speak. I was so excited for the roomba when I go it last month but it is like a child, you can't leave it alone or else it can get into some trouble. It does love to play hide and seek too. I just bought it with gift cards from my shower...hoping to make my life easier. hahaha
  9. I am not sure how it did it but it did. There are now 2 good sized holes in my veil. Any suggestions on how to fix it? The only thing that I have come up with is a few small stiches to close it up. It is custom made and there is no time/money to buy another one. I was thinking about cutting it and making it shorter but then I lose all my beadwork. I was expecting some things to go wrong, but not this!!
  10. They are from Charlaine Harris and I get ALL my books from the library. I actually came across them walking aimlessly in the library. I am a hugh fan and have read almost everything she wrote.
  11. This is based on a series of books which I absolutely love! The show has been following the books pretty well but it has been a little slow. Hopefully they stay true to the books.
  12. This is the very last thing I have yet to decide. I need a good song to walk down the aisle to. My goal this weekend is to figure it out. Thanks for the suggestions.
  13. Oh, I also ordered cake boxes and candy bags for the AHR.
  14. Well Ladies, I have been uber busy and barely have time to post here. Every night after work I have been trying to do one wedding related thing. This week alone I got ring insurance, bought the rest of my giftss (personalized picture frames engraved), worked on my seating chart for my AHR, met with the Deacon for when we come home, got our mariage license, nagged people into turning in their response card for the AHR which is one week after we get back, and worked on organizing the travel paperwork and started to pack. I am sure I did some more but can't remember. My FI's bach party is this weekend and I am getting my cut and color. How is everyone else doing?
  15. Everything looks great, congrats! Whooohooo October brides! Can't wait until we all come back and share pictures.
  16. This is one of the last major things on my list. This weekend I bought my mom and FMIL a Blessings Bowl® - Welcome but I have no idea what to give my father. I only have 2 weeks left and I have no ideas. The traditional stuff does not excite me either. We are paying for the wedding ourselves but our parents are traveling and giving us gifts. I think it is more sentimental.
  17. I am having a duo for the cocktail party only. We will have an ipod for the dinner reception.
  18. I am glad it worked out somewhat for you. That is a sucky position to be in. I had my 2nd dress fitting this weekend. It looks great and my mom will pick it up on Friday. My FMIL took pictures and I will see if I can get a copy of them. Still have not posted picts of my flowers from Angels but I do love them. I am working at my second job right now. I did find gifts for my mom, MH and FMIL. They are called belssing bowls. It basically is a bowl that you put somewhere that you see every day and you put things that are symbolic for what you are thankful for. My FI and I will write each person a personalized note thanking them for being part of our lives and put it in the bowl for them. I do not do the description justice so here is the link. Blessings Bowl® - Welcome
  19. That is crazy. I can't believe with your photog? I thought I had the most craziness going on. Both my FI and I are on trial at work (we are both attorneys). I am about to loose my freaking mind that I can't even clean the house or cook dinner. Today is our 2 year anniversary of dating and we ate McDonald's seperately and worked the rest of the time. I jumped on here during a break I am taking. I hope all of you have less going on and are enjoying yourselves.
  20. You look amazing. Welcome back and I can't wait to see more!

I don't believe you get a tasting but the food is decent there and several brides have said the wedding dinner is the best meal all week.

I just got back from meeting with the photog after my FI pciked me up from the train. My Bach party was amazing. Actually one of the best nights of my life. AND I did not throw up. I am not sure how but I didn't. I hope to get some photos and see if I can post them. Oh and my fitting went well so I did do one thing on my list.
