I bet the photographers have more tips on how to capture a good ring picture. I'll see if I can think of anything creative. Where/how did you get engaged? maybe something that tells that story. I will let Tammy tell her own story but here goes mine..... we got engaged on October 20th after dinner at my fav restaurant in Atlantic City. After dinner we sat in chairs in the sand along a window that looks over the beach and ocean, he looked down and said "what is that" Me being a dunce said "what? I don't see anything... what are you talking about?" after which he dug up a ring box and asked me to marry him! I said yes and then became addicted to BDW!

  6. Hooray for You! Your shower sounds like it was a ton of fun and for that you must have had a great mix of people! Congrats to your moh, bm, mom, fmil, and all those who planned it because if you raved about it here it must have been a great accomplishment! I am sure they are all thrilled you loved it!

    Hello Everyone

Welcome to the forum! I am sure you will find all kinds of great resources and friends here! Happy planning!
  10. My BFF TammyDez and I want to have a "photo shoot" for my engagement ring and her wedding set! We have come up with the usual ideas of rings in the sand and rings in a flower but I was wondering if anyone has any other ideas? I would love to do something more unusual and more creative.... I appreciate any feedback and will post pics from our "photo shoot." Thanks in advance, I know I can count on you girls (and occasional guys!)
  11. ok, ok..... I am a fish lover and avid scuba diver so I can see everyone's point about the fish. On the other hand I eat fish 1-2 times per week. The goldfish Tammy originally wanted to originally use are actually "feeder fish" who tend to be slow swimmers and good eats to other fish. The male beta fish she liked better are very resilient and can survive a 3 year old toddler's care for a few months.(yes, personal experience). Tammy, if all the posts have made you question your decision because of what might happen to the fish.... choose another option if you want - but if your mind is set on the fish, I will take care of all them who are left behind. I think all of them look great!

All I had to buy was some wine and snacks. Yeah, yeah..... imagine if you wanted to ask for some advice and knew the bride to be would be all over this place!! (ps - I don't give a damn what I get as a BM gift for your wedding - being part of the day is gift enough for me) Luv you! ps-i won't slip up on here about your upcoming events (shower, bachelorette) so don't bother looking! Oh yeah, I am not going to avoid your calls because I am a champ at keeping secrets!
  13. I love the fourth picture of the first post. It looks like the solo moment when you said "wait, i'm married? this is fun.....Whooo Hooo!" All your pics look great!
  14. When I first read the topic I thought it said "prank wars"! Now that is FUNNY! It is a series of short videos showing two guys pranking on each other. I should be ashamed to say it but one of the funniest is when one of the guys sets up a fake billboard proposal for his friend and girlfriend at a baseball game.... well, when I saw it I wasn't engaged and it made me laugh!!!

(of course if that doesn't work you should seriously consider prancing around half naked!)

She spent the night over at our house on Valentine's Day (she invited herself!!), when she comes and visits, it's not for a couple of hours like my parents, but for 8 freaking hours (and she doesn't live far). There's more, but I could go on forever. She is just driving me freaking crazy. It bugs me even more Brian isn't telling her to back off even though he's annoyed too. He says he wants to avoid drama, but I swear, he's so not gonna like it if I snap and tell her to back off. Ugggh!!! I can't imagine what it must be like (especially with your new little guy at home!) Maybe she is having a hard time letting go of Brian (especially with your new little guy at home). If I were you I would get a little chuckle out of the fact that you have all the things she is having trouble letting go of!! Enjoy your happy family!!!!!!

I actually feel better telling that to someone. Girls are never easy... I certainly wasn't! My guy's girls are 18 and 20. He says that I missed the worst of it (thank god) but that it has def gotten better. Good luck for the future and I hope that you can find some comfort zone with your doug's daughter... it is impossible to fill the shoes that a girl doesn't want you to fill... don't take it personal and don't give up on her. (don't expect it to be easy either)
  18. We are having an engagement / housewarming party on sat. We bought the house as a "fixer upper" about a year and a half ago..... we are finally ready to show it off. I will post some before and after pics of what we have gotten done (I could never pick one room as my fav - so much has gone into each of them!)
  19. I like the first one, and the first one with the palm in it.
  20. Belive it or not I used to work with a girl who researched them on the internet because she wanted to buy one! (by the way... you can't)
  21. And a little farther away.... (sorry the pics are so big)
  22. Gonna try to post my first pic.... here it is! (maybe)
