  1. No you've got it right. It sounds foolish to worry about people serving themselves but they are payng so much to come to the wedding but really it doesn't matter. I doubt any of my guests would care at all it's just me trying to make things perfect. But it's Jamaica, it's a chill island so everything will be alright mon!

I feel so much better now, thank you! It sounds like you had the best time! I love the idea of a bonfire. We both grew up on beaches and he proposed on the beach and we live on one now so I really wanted a beach wedding through and through. Yay I'm even more excited! Did you post your pictures yet?

Thanks, that's really helpful to know. I'm glad you had security with you!! I keep changing my mind with the reception and I know that once we're down there it really doesn't matter but of course I want it to be romantic and intimate. Did you think the beach was cold?

It is buffet but I was wondering if it were possible to not do it buffet style and have servers. Sorry I didn't explain it correctly, but it really isn't a huge deal I was just curious if people cared about serving themselves.

We have a really loud group so we rented the Plantation but with only 23 people it looks like it would be too big plus we want to do something more beachy. How private was the beach for your party?
  6. We are having our reception on the beach and Chandlyn told us that there are servers for drinks but it's buffet for food. If we want to have a few servers serve dinner it would be an additional $500.00. So my question is if you had the bbq buffet on the beach do you think servers are necessary or helpful? Does anyone else have any thoughts. I just feel it's a wedding and the guests should be served even though it is on the beach. This is probably one of those silly things I worry about but oh well. Thanks!

They are really cute and because of all the different designs I love them but I don't know that they are great oot bags. I asked a few people and they weren't loving them for the bags. Im really trying to go green so these are great they can be beach bags or shopping bags but they are more expensive than I wanted. Who knows, I'm a gemini I constantly change my mind!
  8. Ok everyone, here's my update....... I like the bags as shopping bags but as beach bags or oot bags not so much. They are really thin and they are huge and they don't stand up on their own unless they are full and have something flat on the bottom. I doubt I'll be using them as oot bags but I use it all the time as a shopping bag!
  9. Beautiful pictures! I really like how the beach was set up for you it looked so romantic. Congratulations!
  10. Congratulations and welcome back. I can't wait to hear all about and see more pictures!
  11. WOW! Your pictures are amazing and of course I wanna know, along with everyone else who your photographer was. I love your dress and the ttd is sexy!! I can't wait to see the rest CONGRATULATIONS!
  12. Thanks for the advice it was needed and helpful. I really started to worry this week about choosing the right place but the wedding is only one day and I chose a destination wedding so I could just be chill about things, so thanks to you all I feel much better now. It's my first freak out and I'm kinda proud I made it all this time without being a nut about things!! Heidi, our reception is at the Plantation which will be private and I wasn't sure where exactly where it was located so I'm glad to know it's right near the beach. Thanks
  13. I can't change sites and the reviews have been great, I'm just whining I guess. Thanks and have fun on your site visit (again) : )
  14. I've never been to Jamaica and I don't plan on going until I go down for our wedding. I am not feeling too good about this.
  15. Is anyone or has anyone had second thoughts about their wedding location? At first I was in love with the Riu Ocho Rios but now I'm worried that I may have picked the wrong place. We wanted to get married on the beach and have our reception on the beach, our ceremony is on the beach but not reception. The area where we could have it just didn't seem private enough, in my opinion. I've seen so many pictures from Mexico and now I'm thinking that we should have gone to Mexico AHHH hopefully I'm just over thinking things but has anyone else felt this way?

But, I personally would not recommend them for OOT bags if you want something that will stand up and look good full of stuff... although it really depends on your taste. They are extremely strong and hold a ton, they just don't sit upright unless they are full because they are made of nylon. I'm guessing the picture shown is of them lying flat. Again, it may be no big deal to you... and actually for re-usability they are great. Just something to think about for the presentation side of things. Thanks for the thought. I didn't think about them standing up right or not. Hopefully they'll send a sample so I can decide. I wanted something eco friendly and reusable and this seems to be it, I'm not sure how we're handing them out so we'll see.
  17. Here are the bags I will most likely buy, I am waiting to see if they will send a sample before I purchase them. They are Envirosax, eco friendly bags. They can be bought individually or in a group of five. The website is envirosax.com if you're interested!!
  18. We are leaving on the 19th. Only six months left!
  19. Does anybody know if you can burn candles in your room at ROR?
  20. Lucky, lucky, lucky!! That's awesome that your friend is hooking you up, good for you !
  21. We are flying in, with almost every one of our guests, on Wed. Nov. 12th and getting married Saturday Nov 15th. The weekends are a bit more expensive for airfare so a Saturday wedding allows people to fly in during the week and save a little bit of money. We planned on leaving the 19th but we might stay a little bit longer.
