Just FYI (and sorry i'm late on this) but tulips are not native to cabo and have to be imported. they can only be imported from mexico city. that is why they are super expensive.

Westin brides, any updates? we've requested a tres leches cake instead of the options that they gave us. we also chose a DJ, which ended up not being the DJ they wanted us to use. stephanie's wedding is this coming saturday, i cant wait til she gets back to let us know how everything went!

i know what ya mean about the freakout... im one full month closer to my wedding than you are to yours and i just had the same freak out over the weekend! just relax and breathe. honestly looking at my budget sheet and seeing all the green stuff that was done and how little red was left helped me calm down a lot

ok update: i talked to angel. she is correcting the ribbon and hairflower mistakes at no charge. to retint the callas it will be an additional $25. she is going to do two different colors of retinting to give me a choice of what i want them to look like, and said she can finish retinting them within 1 week of me choosing the new color. she said she would send me the new choices for the retinting in the next day or so. she's been really nice about the mistake thus far and is doing her best to correct it. sigh. i guess that will have to do! she's shipping me my new (correct) hair flower ASAP and also going to retint the lily to match my new callas for free and send that to me just in case i want to have it anyway. i'll post pics when she sends me the new color choices and then when she sends me new approval pics.

Ok I feel so sick to my stomach right now, please somebody tell me I am not being a bridezilla about this. I literally JUST got the approval pics for my flowers from AA - ONE FULL WEEK LATER THAN PROMISED. They are not the color I ordered. The hair flower is also not only totally the wrong color, but the wrong kind of flower. I ordered a white natural touch gardenia for my hair flower on an alligator clip - this is an orange lily. I am so upset I am about to cry here at work. The bouquet is the wrong color - I asked for a specific color peach, which they told me would be no problem. These are fucking orange! I hate them! In addition to everything else that's wrong, I specified that I wanted ivory and champagne colored ribbon as a french ribbon wrap on the bottom of the bouquet. as you can see from the photo, that is not what they made. it has white and orange ribbon. the ribbon is easily fixable, but the callas they tint each stem by hand. how can they possibly get me new flowers in the correct color in such a short time before my wedding? here is the color i showed them originally for the callas: here is what they sent as approval pics: what should i do? ive already emailed angel to let her know it's all wrong. the color callas i want are not available in cabo at all, so i cant order a natural flower bouquet as a backup. i want peach callas. help.

first you should know that nobody who is a wedding guest follows proper etiquette of returning the card within 4 days. second, because your invitations were sent out so far in advance for a jan 2009 wedding, im betting that people dont necessarily know whether they can come yet (i.e. at my job, i cant put in for time off in 2009 until december of 200. to those who told you they were coming but did not submit the official reply card, let them know with a phone call that youre excited theyre coming but they havent returned the reply card with their meal selection and you need that by X date. to those who havent responded at all, put a note up on the home page of your wedding website reminding people that if they plan to attend they must return the reply card with their meal selection. I'm guessing you have quite some time before you actually have to give the caterer a firm headcount... looks like you may have to send out a reminder for RSVP closer to the time you actually have to give a firm headcount - i'd say 6-8 weeks prior. then anyone you dont hear from gets a phone call after that.

nikki, how big is the spot? my advice would depend on how big it is. rit dye is probably your best bet to dye the whole dress. be careful though, it can be messy and youll want to run your washer empty once after dying the dress in the washing machine (which is the easiest way to do it).

let me start by saying i didnt read the responses above mine. sorry to be the bearer of bad news here, but your friend is a bitch! she has no right to tell you what to do or where to have your wedding. if she thinks jamaica is too pricey thats tough shit! you need to stand up to her and tell her "while i appreciate your opinions, my FI and i have chosen to get married in jamaica. if you are not able to join us, we'll be sad, but we'll understand." you need to give her a gracious opportunity to exit your wedding party. she has some serious balls trying to come back to you with different dates and places... whose wedding is it anyway listen, you are not the first, nor are you the last to lose a MOH or a bridesmaid around here. trust me when i say it is not worth the stress she is going to cause you if you keep her in the wedding party. the planning process needs to be as stress-free as possible when it comes to things you can control. if she is causing you stress, cut her loose.

i know.... im having major anxiety that the wedding is so close! i feel like i have so much left to do! i know that i dont, but im a worrywart. here's whats left on my to do list for the july ceremony: - flowers (already have a bouquet but need some for decorating our house for the little cake & champagne reception of 10 people) - need to buy champagne (will do that probably this week or next) - schedule a pedicure and underarm waxing for the day before the ceremony and pay for it in advance so i dont have to worry about it the day of - already paid for my hair appointment, just have to show up the day of - need lipstick! - need to print out the keepsake invitations for our parents and mail one to our officiant i think that's it.... -

i tasted cake today for the civil ceremony and ordered it, paid up front so the day of i dont have to worry about it. we got yellow cake with lemon filling, and white buttercream frosting. it will look like this (except its just one tier 8-inch cake):

theres a mistake on page two -- should say the yucatan peninsula is HOME, theres a typo and it says "ome" otherwise theyre great!

i originally had my sister as my MOH but only because i felt that i had to. we arent close at all, in fact the only time she calls me is when she wants to "borrow" money or wants me to write her a cover letter or resume. my sister ended up backing out and is not even coming to my wedding and boy am i glad. my bridal party has been smooth sailing ever since she backed out.
