  4. I am actually going tomorrow for my first fitting and am scared of the cost. they told me it was going to be $200 to shorten it and i need the waist taken in a bit and my veil shortened UGGGHHH i will let you know!

I hope I don't sound stupid but I really think about this a lot!!! Funny! I was just having this conversation with my jeweler, who also happens to be a very close friend. This is what she told me... "Do NOT wear your diamond rings in the pool (chlorine) if there is a lot of soldering b/c the chlorine slowly eats away at the soldering." "Occasionally wearing them in is not a big deal but wash them with warm, soapy water when you get out" "As for the ocean, salt water shrinks your fingers so if your rings don't fit snug - watch out!" she also said that is one of the highest insurance replacement claims they get - people losing their rings in the ocean!

I bet there are some really cool training centers there Jamy - try to do some reserach - maybe a Vidal Sasson school? i know there is one of those in NYC

I figure down the road if I find something I like I can buy it for the other hand or switch them like Alyssa... Michelle - do you have a pic of the 'basket' - i love this look!!

Has anyone heard about this company? From what I've read, this company was the first to start doing Hawaiian weddings and all I've heard is great stuff. Plus the photography is to die for! Honestly, that's what sold me. You can visit the website to view weddings...they are breathtaking. And there are numerous locations Rev./Capt. Howies performs ceremonies at. Rev./Capt. Howie is a non-denominational minister and Maritime Captain. Anyways, I'm looking forward to our wedding and I'll be sure to give a review. The wedding isn't until December but I know the time will fly by fast! Hey - congrats on the new location - if you want to change your username on here let me know and i will donate you the points to do it Alyssa
  12. Jenny, I have an emerald cut ring - it is custom made as well and set with micro pave. We just picked up our wedding bands which we also had custom made. I don't know if i will be of much help though b/c i am moving my e-ring to my right hand and wearing it there and then wearing my wedding band on my left hand so my wedding band is 'stand-alone' are you wearing them on the same hand?
  13. Sylvia, Oh no!!! Ok, first things first - you need to go back and speak with the owner - that is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. 2nd - can you post pictures - i am not really sure what you mean about the chiffon. 3rd - i am really sorry about your mom
  14. Well, I decided to go with #1!! I just bought them - I can't wait to see them in person. And for everyone that asked - I found all 3 pairs on Ebay!
  15. So, I live in a (fairly) large city - Philadelphia - we have this school called "Jean Madeline Institute" it is a Cosmetology school based on Aveda products priniciples and practices - meaning all nautral, etc. Anyway, they have a couple locations in the city and it never occured to me that they have a Salon where the students do EVERY service under the sun at serious discounts. So I called last week and you are never going to believe this - I got a blow out (my hair is super, super long, wavy-curly and thick) for $13. And a manicure is $10, a pedicure $20, a single process color $25, an Aveda facial $30, i could go on and on ... now being that these are students i wouldn't trust them to do something drastic (like a serious cut or highlights) but a trim? sure, a blow out, OMG yes $13 that is INSANE! I wanted to share with you girls b/c it turns out Aveda partners with these schools all over the country and there might be one near you.

KEEP 'EM COMIN' yes, the natural sun DOES tint your nails - some people's color more than others - it sounds like you are pre-disposed to your nails yellowing - that is why it is extra important to only use natural products on them. I just take the base and top coat with me to get a mani or pedi and use either Essie or Opi polish (from the salon), sometimes the women look at me funny but honestly i don't give an F b/c my nails NEVER yellow anymore. Also, - TIP: when you get the non-yellowing topcoat - make sure you put it on 'thin' b/c if you put a thick topcoat of that it will bubble
  17. Maura, I can't give you that many great recommendations b/c it has been a while since I was there but i LOVED Montreal - it feels like Europe, there are wonderful coffee shops and fantastic restaurants, you can walk everywhere and Mont Royal is (IMO) one of the nicest parks in a city that I have ever been too - I think the same planner/designer designed it that also did Central Park. One day while we where there, we bought some wine, cheese, baguettes and fruit and walked through the city then very far through Mont Royal until we got to a beautiful picnic lookout - it is BEAUTIFUL and super romantic. But there is still nightlife which is nice. I hope you go to Montreal - I really think you will love it!
  18. Jacqueline, OK, first soaking in lemon juice diluted with water will help - you should take the polish off and then soak every couple days for about 20 minutes. do this for about 2 weeks. Then go to Whole Foods - they carry a brand of natural nail polish, base coat and top coat - try these for couple months and always use the base coat to protect your nails. I have heard of that Yellow Out polish - I think you can get it at Sally's beauty - I don't have any advice for the tanning salon b/c I don't tan there but try to cover your nails b/c like Erin said that could be bad. Also, when you go to Whole Foods, make sure the Top Coat you buy is "NON-YELLOWING" - this is the one I use and it is great. If i use regular top ocat - after 2 days in the sun, my polish and nails start to yellow.
  19. great info Glenda - i will be there doing that in about a month!!

I've seen platforms/runners, but you still have to walk in the sand to get to the platform. Thanks! Hi MrsTorrence! I see that you are new to the forum - welcome! I will move this post from the Cabo forum for you but please read this thread http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t24194. thanks, alyssa

  22. Glenda - at least it was only $6.99!!! lol you have to post one so we can at least see it
  23. Becks - that was so great!!! hahahaha loved it !!!
  24. So, my bridal party votes are in and overwhelming like #1. Also, i think i should have mentioned that the colored stones in #1 are black stones (which i like b/c it is so different). #1 and #2 are pretty tight but i am leaning towards #1 right now!
