Post Groom and GM attire
plumsugar replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
So...suprisingly...the boys wanted to be ultra formal (especially since they are normally anti-suit lol) They chose this suit from Dante Zeller Tuxedos: (It's darker than the picture; more of a bone than white) FI will be wearing it as pictured with vest and a beautiful striped white/orange/blue tie... The groomsmen will be wearing the suit with paisley print blue and orange ties...like these: -
My guys are getting their suits from Dante's Tuxedos (Dante Zeller?). I don't know if there is one by you (I think its NY/NJ/CT based), but def. look them up if you can! The rental for 7-10 days came out to $156.00 with the suit and a shirt! And best of all, you can alter and re-alter them as much as you'd like. Our guys dont really wear suits much, especially not light colored ones, so a rental was the best option

Calling all May 2008 Brides
plumsugar replied to babycow's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
About 3 months to go!!! I hate that some days feel like you're almost done and other's like you've done nothing at all! And what’s worse, I’ve started second guessing myself like "maybe I should change this to that"!! What I’ve Done: - booked our flights & hotel stay - booked hotel stay for bridal party (our very expensive gift to them) - booked location for ceremony/reception/welcome dinner (all in resort) - booked photographer/dj/minister - booked florist/guitarist/cake (through resort) - booked hair and makeup appointment - bought dress, shoes, wedding band, some accessories - bridesmaids dresses are in: fittings in Mid-March for completion by April - groomsmen have reserved rental suits for final fittings in April; bought ties - OOT boxes are done and tagged - seashell placecard holder’s are ribboned with our names & wedding date; our BP are taking instant polaroids of all guests for each holder as a favor - unity candle/guestbook/pen customized with small starfish and sand ceremony shells purchased - invitations done & sent out (i couldnt wait until february lol) - purchased shells/starfish/candles for centerpieces to be filled with beach sand (hopefully WC still has the vases I need) - table numbers purchased, programs & placecards bought Need To Do & Almost Done: - find “reception shirt†and shoes for FI and groomsmen - find accessories & shoes for bridesmaids (parasols purchased) - find wedding band for FI - figure out seating for tables as RSVP's come in - print out the programs, welcome letter, and placecards - finish “must play†songs for DJ - finish “must take†pictures for photographer - buy our outfits for welcome dinner - book mariachi for welcome dinner (budget pending) - buy clothes for our overall stay - meet with all vendors - tasting/setup preview upon arrival - set up marriage license and judge appointment here in the US before leaving to Cabo (already started research) - work on vows/toasts - tone up!!!! I’m so soft lol - attend my final fittings between March-April - finish a wedding day timeline for myself & BP -
What time was your beach ceremony?
plumsugar replied to aeroo's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Our's is scheduled for 6pm, but in hindsight I would have liked it at 5 for more "natural light" picture time... Then again, who knows when the sun will ACTUALLY set that day... -
I (now) have 2 Bridesmaids and 3 Groomsmen...and I wouldnt have it any other way!! Fiance gave me such a hard time about keeping numbers even for the pictures and adding a girl (he ran out of names lol), but who really cares about numbers when you have the closest, most supportive people next to you on that very special day!

Thank you for your reply MauraW! I did do some general searches like "hair" before posting (as anything 3 letters and under wont be processed and my original contained both "Sea" and "Spa" lol) I found some posts pertaining to the spa, but I didn’t find anyone that used them for their salon services Anywho…still wondering if anyone has recently used them for hair & makeup! Any input would be greatly appreciated!
-
Has anyone had any recent experience with hair & makeup at this salon? I’ve received some amazing prices for hair/makeup/nail packages, but I’m a bit wary that the price may be too good to be true in regards to the outcome…? Thanks!

What Color Was Your Dress?
plumsugar replied to Martha's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I got my dress in "diamond white", which is off-white, but not quite ivory... -

Funny story, I absolutely loved it when I first tried it on, but it was a sample size 12 and they had to really scrunch & clip it together to get it to mock-fit me. When I finally put the deposit down, I went home, saw the pictures of the dress on the designers website...and hated it!!! So for 6 months, I was pretty much anxiety ridden with the fear that I'll have to pay soooo much money for a dress I thought I liked because of the way they clipped it on me :x But in the end, true love lol. I guess most everyone goes through that though with their dress...<3 -
Help needed choosing a dress!
plumsugar replied to Bride010101's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I voted #1! Its so elegant, not to mention beautiful! I love the detailed lace on the train and beading on the neckline... It hugs your body better than #2 too! -
I was sooo nervous this morning!! But I love it!! They actually had to pin it back alot because it was too big; I officially have to stop losing weight and start toning up! It’s #106 in the Essence Couture collection (Essence of Australia). Details: Swarovski crystals angling the bodice, as the back “buttonsâ€, and in a super large sunburst shape on the right thigh (plus i’m adding a miniature sunburst at the very tip where the waist angles) <3

Its so far down the road in that hotel section that it takes on a more relaxing atmosphere, which I personally love (gives my guests more of a chance to take over the hotel too lol)

Thanks everyone! I totally worried about the color combination when I asked for some samples... I think the Gerbera's give off a playful look to such serious pieces for a wedding -
Help needed finding this dress!!!!

It looks very similar to a Pronovias type dress (Similar ruffling) Good luck on the hunt though! Example: -
Hello everyone! My name is Dee! My (it’s really our lol) special day is May 3, 2008 in Los Cabos at the Presidente Intercontinental! I’ve been registered a little over six months and I must say THANK YOU! This site has helped me so much with the destination wedding planning process… I really don’t know how I would have/continue to do it without all of your information & feedback!
-
Yay! I just received sample pictures of a bouquet, corsage, and boutonnière made of gerbera daisies with palm leaves (in my wedding colors)! I love them and wanted to show them off Inspired by these found on the boards:

Bridesmaids dresses
plumsugar replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I selected the color, but I thought it would be nice to let my girls choose their own dresses. What a nightmare that was! 3 hours in the shop and I still left with one unhappy girl due to her dress size measurements! I thought the bride was supposed to be the cranky bi*c*? lol… In any case, I am more than happy with their selections <3: M.O.H. 2 B.M.'s -
What are your colors? Show me!
plumsugar replied to nolaroy724's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
A deep blue, orange, and white... A mixture like this: <3 -
Two sites that arent much discussed here (seems Dreams is the most popular resort for weddings)... I previously stayed at the Crowne Plaza this time last year and FH & I really loved it! I am heavily considering having our wedding at this resort, but would also like some opinions from brides that have had a wedding there...if there are any on this website :/ Also, any recent information/opinions on the Presidente Intercontinental? Thank You & Congrats to all! D
