  1. we didn't have any problem with bugs at all. however i think it was spider mating season or something because apparently the spiders were out, but i saw one, and that is it.

i did, however, get ants stuck in the bottom tulle of my dress. (bottom couple inches) which i found totally hilarious. they were my little party crashers!

i have no idea about the packages now. they are different from when i got married. however, i would highly higly recommend going over in the morning with your girls. we had such a great time and it was the perfect way to start the wedding day. oh and we didn't plan anything, we just relaxed on the beach and swam and drank some beer. it was PERFECT

Love all the place settings. You girls are so creative :-)
haa, thanks for the support! wasn't sure if i was crazy with that one or not! rolleyes.gif
  3. i didn't wear shoes. our wedding was on the beach and so was our reception/dancing so wearing any type of shoe in the sand wasn't happening. i bought a pair of aqua/blue flat flip flops but really only wore them for our TTD the next day. i had them at the wedding but left them next to a palm tree - not long after there was a pile of shoes/sandals with my flip flops rolleyes.gif

  4. oh i was thinking about your seating card situation and thought of something i probably would have done had i thought about it before now!

we got these awesome hand painted magnets while in PV - and they could be customized. We got our names and wedding dates. Anyway, I was thinking that you could do those for your seating cards and then people go home with a cool hand painted magnet too. i collect magnets from every place we visit so i might think this is cooler than it actually is, but just throwing it out there!

    Thanks,

i did starfish with name cards attached and asked Kelley to prop them up in some sand. they pulled out some cool bowls, filled them with sand and put my starfish place cards in there... let me see if i can find a picture

Good for him! although, I hope LC continues to use him for hair...he does do a great job!
i think he always had his own salon... which was part of the reason he was spendy - because he had to shut down his salon for a day to go out to LC for the day to do a brides hair.

i was going to say the same exact thing! the things I would NOT skip on are the firedancers and the extra time.

and for sure the party continues on the boat - heck it starts on the boat! we had trouble getting people off the boat both ways rolleyes.gif

    Did you guys pay this?

Did anyone use another company to get your guests there?
we did our guests transportation through Kelley - it was so nice to know that was taken care of. The bus they send is really a nice bus. Our guests commented on how nice it was that we took care of getting them from the hotel to the marina and back.

I personally wouldn't have done it through a different company - what if they don't show up and you're at LC getting ready, how would you know? Or what if they are late to pick you up? Doing it through LC may be a little more $ but the peace of mind is totally worth it.

we had hors included in our package. granted i didn't eat any but our guests raved about them!
  10. just wanted to throw it out there that Fernando did my hair and it lasted through the boat ride home, it was crazy. I was up dancing on the front of the boat, wind blowing around like crazy and my hair still looked awesome by the time we got back to port. So I would think it would be possible to do hair earlier. However, I wouldn't have wanted my hair done before I went to LC. It would have meant i couldn't go swimming/lay on the beach all day! The morning of, relaxing at LC, is one of my favorite wedding memories.

I was a little worried about the price as well, but don't forget that if they don't spend the $$ on an AI they're going to have to pay to eat out all of the time, which adds up. And if they're drinkers, of course there's that cost as well.

It was great to have all of our family stay at the one resort. I was so excited for the idea of a DW for the obvious reasons (getting married on a beach!) but what I hadn't realized was what a great opportunity this was for our close family and friends to get to know eachother. So I really do encourage them to all stay at teh same place (I know it's not always possible).

Everyone was shocked at the quality of food at Dreams as well. Many people, including us, had never stayed at an AI before, and I wasn't expecting much from the food. It surprised me!

I can't compare it to anywhere else though, but Dreams is a pretty good deal for all that you get - and it's a great place for adults and families (we had both); it's a nice mix of relaxing getaway and family-friendly hotel feel.
I second everything Ann said. Having all of our guests at Dreams was AWESOME! It turned out to be the perfect place for our guests. Plus it wasn't right in town so our guests stayed on property and really got to know each other. We had such a fun time at Dreams!

Definitely get your photographer squared away. And yes you can go out early on a Sunday. My wedding was on a sunday and we met Kelley at the marina at 10am. It was awesome!

I have to totally agree! I spent HOURS making a list of songs we liked etc. Such a waste of my time, Johnny the DJ was awesome and had our crowd dancing literally the entire night!

Quick confirmation from the old post information though - it sounds like you def cannot get legally married at LC but have to do it on the dock before you leave or in PV? Sound right? We weren't going to do a legal here before leaving but I am now thinking we should and save us the trouble of running around for blood tests etc.
We got legally married before hand. We figured it was just easier to go the courthouse here and be done with that part!
  13. well, my first e ring was platinum, my current ring is white gold. of the two i like the white gold one better. it's got a nicer whiter shine to it. yes it has to be recoated every now and then, but most stores sell you a maintenance program that covers it, and it doesn't take long for the recoating process.

the platium ring went dull pretty quick and wasn't as bright as the white gold. So from my experience i'd go for white gold.

also as far as upkeep goes, i had to get my platinum ring polished ALL THE TIME. my white gold ring, I only get that done when i go in for my 6 month warranty check ups.

getting married on a sunday kicks ass - LC was totally ours the whole day, it was awesome.

Kelley had those shells that were hanging... check with her she might still have them. I think that Rachel actually left those there from her wedding :)
