Small guest list, should we do it?
*JillD* replied to Mishi's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I've always hated this tradition as well and never participate, hahaha, last time we went to a wedding, FI tried not to participate, he ended up catching the garter without even trying and he flung it and ran away, but everyone saw him and they knew he would make it fun, so they made him do it. But it was funny because he danced around a little tried to make it fun, but then only went up to her knee and walked away, I think she was a little insulted, oh well, he's taken and he's not sticking his hands up your dress, hahaha! -
Something to put in OTT bag
*JillD* replied to DEE1978's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I am doing bright pink/fuschia as my main color, with a few splashes of aqua. I think I'm going to get the bottles in aqua. Yeah, I think I'd like to do a nice bag for guests because they are paying so much to come down, but I'll probably only need to do about 7 or 8 of them (one per room), I thought so many of those bags on that site were so cute, I even thought about getting a few different colors so everyones wasn't the same. Oh, I also thought about doing a monogram on the guests bag (first letter of their last name) so everyones would be a little bit different. So many ideas, first I need to know how many people are coming for sure so I can figure out what we can afford. We're going to buy a few mexican things when we get down there too, to put in the bags and some snacks. -

I'm not doing it, we have a small group as well, and I've also never been one that was excited to participate in this event either, so I don't even know if I'd do it with a large wedding. But its your day and you really can do whatever you want, if its something you've had your heart set on doing, I say go for it, don't let the size of the group discourage you, but if you don't care, I say its not necessary. -
we have a house already too, so we have a lot of the necessities, not that I can't use a new comforter set and extra sheets, etc.... but we've got most of the usual stuff.

a lil' flower for my hair
*JillD* replied to LCBride2007's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I came across this site on ebay, (yes I'm an ebay addict) its not all flower clips but there are some, they had some really cute little stephanotis flower clips and a nice big gardenia clip, I haven't had a chance to look through the whole store, but here it is. eBay Store - Butterfly Enchantress Designs: Swarovski Crystal Hair Pins, Pearl Hair Pins, Other Flower Hair Pins -
hahaha, I did turbojam and was contemplating doing another video tonight, but that was before we ordered pizza for dinner, what the hell is wrong with me?

Denise, I designed one last night and I loved it! I wrot Cancun, Mexico and then October, 2007 And in the middle I put a picture that had a palm tree, sunset, and a teeny tiny couple (I guess a married couple, cuz it was under the marriage clipart) They looked really good, I think I'm definetly going to get them. -
Mishi, I don't have an IPOD yet either, but I do have an Itunes account with some downloaded songs. I want to buy an IPOD both so that we can have it at home to play (with a docking station) and for the wedding. I'm actually thinking about registering somewhere for my shower that sells IPODS & the bose docking station I want, and registering for them, so I don't have to buy them before the wedding. All I keep picturing is people saying "she registered for what", she's supposed to be registering for sheets & dishes", hahaha!

This is a sore subject for me as well. My sister got married two years ago and I know each of my parents (they are divorced) gave them $5000. My mom may have even given a little more because she didn't like the menu they chose, whatever. So they had a big, close to home wedding so I understand they needed more help. And my parents have to pay to go to mexico, but c'mon, neither one of them has even offered anything to us and more than just the money, it hurts my feelings that my sisters wedding was more important than mine. I would be happy with anything they offered. Well, I say anything, but my mom offered to buy my stamps, and while thats nice, its not really a huge help. Now I sound really ungrateful, but it really hurts me that neither one of them has even offered anything. So they better keep their opinions to themselves.

Jules, its Cindy Crawford, the next challenge. I got it on ebay for 8 dollars I think. My mom used to have it and I did it all the time, so I knew I liked it. You just need hand weights, I've been using 3 pounders because I only have 3's and 10's and the tens would be too much. Seriously, you should see me walk, its hard to bend my legs, it felt good to do turbojam this morning just to stretch my muscles. And the cindy workout does legs, arms, chest, abs, shoulders, & back, its about an hour. Yeah, I decided tapes were my best option because i love to do aerobics classes but don't have time to get to the gym. Cindy makes you do A LOT of lunges! Good luck, let me know if you try any other tapes!

NO COOKIES!!! You're going to look so good in your wedding dress! I tried to do turbojam yesterday, but FI came home and I can not do it in front of him, so I only got in about 15 minutes. This morning I did the 20 minute turbojam workout, I'm hoping to also do the scultping one or the ab one later, we'll see. I'm still so extremely sore from Cindy the other day, she kicked my butt!

I think I'm going to do canvas bags. We're not having a lot of people so I might do some really nice bags, not sure yet how much we can afford, but I figure if I only have to buy 7 or 8 I can spend a little more, we'll see. here's the site I've been looking on, they actually have a lot of great stuff Personalized Tote Bags Monogrammed Tote Bags - Bridal Handbags, Wedding Purses, Monogrammed Tote Bags -
I don't even know where to tell you to begin. Maybe do one CD that covers the pre-wedding music, the bride music, and the after ceremony music. And then have the next CD have the songs for the dances you are doing(I'm assuming you will do most of these right away) or are you doing dinner first? So you will need dinner music somewhere and then reception music. But I have no idea how you should organize it, like fast song, slow song, etc... maybe you can just hit shuffle and let the CD player decide, hahaha! I think I just made this worse! How bout an IPOD?

Mishi, great job, I'm sure this was not an easy project!! One request. Could you change my dress, please? I ended up with a different one, I only tried on 4334 dress, hahaha, and took forever to make up my mind. Here's my dress, its the biggest picture on the page, if you click on it it will give you closer views. Andaluzia Couture - Web Site Thank you! -
I'd tell her I didn't want her in the wedding. She's not a very good friend if she's putting this all on you and stressing you out before your wedding, you have enough to worry about.

Question for all of you dreams brides
*JillD* replied to *JillD*'s topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Thanks Susan! I don't really want a huge party place, but at least somewhere we can hang out, I guess we'll have to scope things out when we get there.
