  1. I was searching for hair and make-up ideas and found Dorys Foltin's webpage. I really liked the work posted on her website, so I thought I would pass it along to all the Oahu brides. Her studio is in Honolulu. Dorys Foltin Make-up Hair Styling
  2. So, Sarah called the original shell shop that I found the shells at and they are sold out. She and I both called another one that offered them at about the same price, and they were sold out too. Apparently, there have been lots of hurricanes and tropical storms in the Phillipines and this has limited the supply. This shop isn't expecting another shipment until May. Sarah finally found some at a shop in San Diego and I'm willing to go pick them up, but they will cost $19.95 each plus tax ($21.50 each). If you girls still want them for this price, I'll reserve them with my credit card and go pick them up. Just let us know!
  3. Looks like we have 12 shells reserved.... Sarah 2 TammyM 2 Loretuke 2 Jilly 2 Ann 2 me 2 If anyone else wants to get in, we can add additional shells for $13 each, or if we get 12 more, the discount would apply again.

  5. I started buying things from the beginning, a little at a time. If I found a good deal, I'd snatch it up. I think that in the process, I may have bought too many of somethings...ie. flip flops...I think I bought 80 pairs. I figure I can probably sell the left over stuff later on ebay (although, that will probably be a pain). At this point, I'm trying to spread out the rest of the money I have to spend over the next 5 months leading up to my wedding....of course, I'll still have the big ticket items the day of.
  6. Natalie ~ Those look great! I want to use the idea, but I don't know where I would put them at the Sheraton's palapa area....hmmm
  7. Thanks Julie and Glenda for sharing your thoughts. I'm feeling better about my choice now! I think you're right the fabric is very flowy....good for a beach wedding! ouch...$300 per dress!!

  9. Love it!! That is too cute!! Thanks for sharing!
  10. Welcome Rebecca!! Let us know how we can help you!!
  11. Well, originally I wanted these dresses.. But, I found the other ones on sale and I'm buying the dresses for the girls and at $59 vs. $270 a piece, I'm feeling pretty good about the second ones. My colors are shades of pink from burgundy to light pink, so I think they'll work out okay. My only concern is that it will be June and these might look too dark. What do you think?

  13. Welcome!! I think 070707 is a great day to get married!! I'm going to be in Vegas to celebrate my mom and great uncle's b-days...they share that day as their birthday.... I'll be thinking of all of you 070707 brides and grooms while I'm playin' the slots!!
  14. Thanks ladies. I only saw them in maroon at Macy's and they only had 2 dresses left...which happened to be the sizes I need a 6P and an 8P. I originally wanted to order different dresses in light pink, but I couldn't pass up the deal and they will work just fine with my colors. I also like the flowiness of the dresses.
  15. Hi Sabrina! Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your recent engagement!
  16. No problem. She'll be quick to reply! I'm looking forward to hearing about the location you choose!
  17. I'm getting married the same day as you, Stephanie. I'm planning to send my invites out on March 1st. My room block is going to be released on 3/21. I figured 3 weeks will be long enough for people to decide whether or not they are going to book. I wanted to send them even earlier, but then it just seemed too early. I didn't order my invites...I'm making my own, so I'm not much help on the printing timeline.
  18. actually you have to click the "send new massage" which you'll see on the toolbar to the left after you click "private messages" above.
  19. click "private messages" under the area that says you have unread posts and then in the to box, put host and then write her a message. The reply will come back through the same area. The same way that you PM'd me. Let me know if it doesn't work and I'll send her one and copy you, so that the two of you can get in touch.
  20. Hi Jennifer, Tammy (host) is a travel agent who specializes in destination weddings. You should send her a private message or an email and ask her for her advice. She can help you narrow down the location and give you some great advice based on your specific needs. She's really friendly and helpful. I would certainly contact her before you try the other link you posted. The WC I was referring to before would be based in the location that you choose to help you throughout the day.

We are having a legal ceremony, so we actually want to get married down there. I was sort of happy about the cost of the marriage and all the paper work being included (besides the $150 blood work fee). Can anyone give me some feedback on why they are booking a minister? And is booking a minister expenisve? From what I understand in Mexico it is customary to have 2 ceremonies a legal one and spiritual one. I'm getting legally married in Mexico before my spiritual ceremony in Mexico. Again, as I understand it, the judge in Cabo can either come to you, or you can go to him to have the legal ceremony performed. We're doing the legal ceremony separate from the spiritual ceremony. All of our guests will be present at the spiritual ceremony only. I hope this helps.
