Riu Palace Steakhouse dinner reception

Recommended Posts

Wedding Sept 2011:

We have booked the Riu Palace steakhouse for a private reception dinner.  $1800. for the entire restaurant.

We were told that only wine, pop, water and coffee is provided for drinks.

We have decided not to pay for an open bar at $15. per guest; as we were told there is a bar just at the top of the stairs from the restaurant where the guests may go if they want beer or a rum and coke.

Now I am looking to find anyone who has a picture of the restaurant.  (I can only find pictures of the terrace)

I would like to see something so that we are able to plan the seating arrangments.

There will be aprox. 56 guests and we would like to set up something rather than the U shaped long table set up that I have seen so far.  Does anyone have any picture they are willing to share?

Also we are considering using Cedric for our DJ, sound system and lighting...has anyone done this and have any insight.

I have been all over this forum and I have not been able to find anything inside of the steakhouse restaurant sad.gif

I appreciate any and all help anyone is able to share

My name is Michelle,

My wedding is 11/5/11

Can you send me that pic of the steak house?

So much to organize.

I know I'm gonna need an open bar, my friends and family will want it more than the food.

We have 40 people..at $15 pp, still much better than a wedding here in the states.

Do you  want the terrace picture or the inside of the steakhouse...I now have several pictures.

Also go to http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/63588/riu-palace-cabo-info-sheet-2010-2011 and see comments about the steakhouse and open bar.

Hi Crys,

How is your wedding planning going?  I think I saw a thread about stressing out about the number of people for your private reception.  I really hope it works out for you!

Do you happen to have a picture of the steakhouse?  I am thinking of having a private reception (5-12-12) on the terrace or on the bottom deck of the steakhouse but haven't seen too many pics.  It would be very helpful.  You are having your reception at the steakhouse and renting the whole thing correct?

Thanks!!!

Kary

we were going to have the entire restaurant but dropped 2 guest below the number we booked with so are forced to now choose a different location.

We are now having the Don Julio Terrace; which I believe is the bottom deck of the steakhouse (both seatings) and the beach for dancing.

We were told the beach is one step down from the terrace.

Have no idea how it will be set up...the terrace doesn't look like there's much room (which is why we are including the beach for dancing)

Wow your wedding is next month, Very Exciting!!!!

Thank you for the pictures!  They were very helpful.  Don Julio's looks like it will be a beautiful place for your reception dinner.

I know you said you rented it for both seating's, ($1,000?) so does that include the regular menu, or do you have to pay per person for the food also?

Did you decide to use a DJ, or are you just bringing your Ipod?

Thanks!

Kary

Kary,

The closer it gets the more stress when not everthing is confirmed with the WC

both seatings $1000.00...they said we could still have the "menu 1" choice that we liked from the steakhouse

beach another $500.00...which seems kind of crazy but I guess they set up a wood dance floor but only 4 spot lights for lighting

We have booked a DJ through the resort...another 500.00

Trying to figure out how far the closest bar is so we don't have to pay for an open bar...Does anyone know where it is from Don Julio terrace?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
