RIU HELP PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

I am seriously considering choosing RIU for my wedding however I have a few questions....

If I have the reception in the Steakhouse....is it private? How does it work with your linen choice and centerpieces? Where did you dance at? Did you have to go to a different location?

Is it possible to have the reception out on a terrace? Or other options?

For the flowers, do you get to pick the flower choice?

My fiance is really set on RIU but I am still uncertain because of the tiny details I am unsure about. PLease help me if you can with the above info. Thanks

  • 2 weeks later...

I recently found out that the steak house is considered to be an open air restaurant. Meaning no walls for a wind break.

semi private that are included in pkgs are on the terrace at the Mexican and San Jose restaurant.

The steak house can only be booked for private.

NOTE: check carefully regarding extras...there are many hidden extras

for example if you want something besides pop and wine you will need to pay for an open bar which does not include blended drinks.

you can get a hook up for IPod but you will need to rent the speakers by the hour.

table cloths are white - color choice is only the napkins.

there are certain flowers that you can pick colors - if they are in season

all of this you make arrangements with your consultant at the resort

For some reason my post didn't work! It is true the steakhouse only has white linens. My mom and Aunt are bringing table runners, tea lights and we are ordering flower centerpieces to jazz it up! I'm not sure if we are supposed to bring table runners though! lol! We haven't asked yet!

the resort told me

I was told the steak house restaurant was for private

the steak house terrace is for semi private

Linens are white except napkins (there is a list to pick a color for those)

no dancing except at the disco when it is semi private

I was told the complete opposite......(steakhouse semi-private, steakhouse terrace private). That is also what is listed on the document I received on the different reception locations so I have it attached. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
