How many wedding dresses did you try on?

Recommended Posts

Hi, how many wedding dresses did you try on before you found your only one? Five, ten or more? I have tried on many dresses and shopped around the local and online bridal shops. Actually, I donâ€t have a clear idea about what dress I like most. Thus, I picked up several ones and hope that someone can offer me some suggestions.

I think I tried on about 20-something or so before I completely gave up on buying one in the store. Though about half of the ones I tried on was only to amuse my friend who shopped wth me, I did not even consider buying them.

I think I tried on about 15 dresses... Probably 7 when I went the first time to look for a beach wedding dress... Then we decided to have an at home wedding and I tried on 4... And then I changed my mind BACK to having a destination wedding lol.  And I tried on 4 that time but I knew the second dress I tried on was the one.

I tried on between 20 and 30. The dress I picked was nothing like I expected. I was planning a traditional wedding when I bought my dress so the types I tried on are nothing like I would have had I known I would be having a DW. I'm still planning on wearing my original dress.

Really?! That is awesome! I knew that there were at least 15 that were NOT the one, but I had trouble deciding between 2-3 choices. Ultimately only one made me really feel like a bride so that's the one I went with.

I went to about 3-4 stores and tried on 5-10 at each.  At first I wanted to go princess ballgown, but knowing I was going to have to lug it down to Mexico and it would be hot and humid, my bridesmaids and MOH convinced me to 1) go strapless and 2) flaunt whatever curves I have and go with a semi-mermaid style silhouette.   I still feel like a bride, but it won't weigh me down too much. The BC505 and LaFemme dresses have very different silhouettes, (romantic/flowy and dramatic/goddess-like) so explore what you envision your wedding to be like and how you want to look for it.

Good luck!

I just hit up store #4, and I probably tried on 15 dresses at each place.  I wanted a flowy chiffon destination dress, but they really don't flatter my figure. I ended up changing my mind on what styles I like, which made the last stop a lot easier and more precise.

I also tried on some giant ballgowns for pure amusement purposes.

I went to the first store.. tried on about 5 dresses total and kept on going back on forth between them and then decided on my dress when the sales woman got a dress that I never would have tried on and it was the one.. then I went to a local shop right after that I've been to multiple times (she includes free alterations & holds the dress until your day) and ordered it from her :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
