Bahamas Ceremony Music

Hey Bahamas Brides!

For any of you who are getting married or have gotten married recently-- who did you use for music at your ceremony? Ours will be outside at the Versailles Gardens & Cloisters, so I am thinking of violin, guitar, or something else. Any suggestions? Thanks ladies!

I got a DJ and was VERY happy with him!! That being said, if I could change something about my wedding, and to save money - I think the sound dock and IPOD would have been the way to go. Of course you have to have someone man the system and I don't know if I would have been able to handle the hassle of getting all the playlists together and music.

I hired the DJ md2002 recommended.  My wedding isn't until next year so I can't vouch for him yet, but so far I am happy based on our phone conversations.  Plus I met Matthew Sweeting (officiant) on our site visit and he must have said about 5 times how awesome Jose is!  He's handling everything from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception and since we're doing it that way instead of individual musicians for each, the price is not so bad.  I hadn't realized but when I booked Matthew that if you have more than 10 guests you need to rent sound equipment.  Well, Jose's DJ fee was less than Matthew's rental fee and included the equipment so I feel like I'm practically getting that music for free.  Here''s the link to his website

You'll love Jose! He did everything for us as well. We didn't have to worry about a thing as far as music goes. He also did our ceremony, went off with no issues at all. Matthew is super too.... you've made some good choices!

As I said above if you absolutely have to save money an IPOD would probably work but.... it's much more relaxing if you don't have to worry about the music on your wedding day. If you can afford it, I would get a DJ.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
