CHURCH WEDDING

Recommended Posts

Hi there!  We are getting married in San Jose in Feb 2011.  Church wedding followed by a reception at the Melia Cabo Real.  The church in San Jose is called:  The Mission de San Jose del Cabo Anuiti and you can contact Padre Juvencio at padrejuve@hotmail.com .

It is a gorgeous church!  My Fiance and I went on a site visit to Cabo in May and met with the Padre.  We attended a bilingual mass on Sunday and it was so special and moving.  This church is a perfect place for a wedding.

Just as an FYI, in addition to your church's Pre-Cana you will have to complete paperwork and obtain Bishop approval to marry in Mexico.  You can find that information here:  http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/57866/misson-de-san-jose-del-cabo-marriage-requirements#post_1254789.

Good luck!  Let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks!  Stephanie

Thanks for the post stephanie!  How far is this church from Cabo San Lucas?  Did you get a chance to visit the Catholic church in Cabo?  I am wondering what the inside of the Cabo Church looks like to see which one I prefer.  The San Jose looks beautiful!  I guess I am just torn because I am having the reception In Cabo and want to make it easy for all of the guests.  If we chose the San Jose Church we will just provide transportation for our guest.

Hi!  The Mission is about 11 mintues from the Melia (the hotel we're having our recpetion at)--which is about 25 mintues or so from Cabo San Lucas...so, you're looking at a 30/35-ish minute ride...give or take.  But don't quote me!

The Mission is in the town-sqaure of San Jose.  It's so cute!  You can take a look at my site visit pics.  The town square has the best places to take pictures!  Colorful buildings and a lot of charm.  There are pics in this post:  http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/59869/melia-cabo-real-site-visit-amazing

The Mission is amazing.  But, I met a couple during out site visit that married at the Cabo church and they loved it.  I think it's smaller, but still very nice!

We are providing transportation for our guests.  I felt that it was appropriate--I didn't want my guest to have to hail a cab, potentially get lost OR BE LATE and have to pay for a ride to our wedding.  It's an added cost, but it will be greatly appreciated.  Go with the Mission!  It's amazing...unique and very, very authentic!  And the Padre is very nice!

Good luck--let me know if you need more info!  Adios!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
