How much $$ did your invites or STD's cost? I ended up doing the save the dates myself, and am really wondering if I saved any money and if it was worth all the b.s.!

My save the dates were like $400 something.... I thought they would function at my STD and invite, so wasn't too concerned. But now I read on here that we need to do STD's, invitations to the DW and then invitations to the AHR as well! Ugh. oh well. I think your STD's were awesome and I am going to be looking into doing that for my offical invites to the DW. how much was the postage since they were sent in a box?

I think you might be thinking of someone elses.... I did my own, along with a magnet, but have not posted them yet. I did 100 of them.

The magnets were 150.00, materials were 50.00, and printing was 115.00. But, these will serve as my std's and invites. I don't think you have to do both... I am having them rsvp to the stds, so what would I send out more invites for. I do plan on send an info packet closer to the date, but then only to the people who are coming.

I think that I would recommend having them done for you- just because they were a hassle to me, and are nothing special...

I did save-the date-magnets then attached them to a postcard. The magnets are printed on blank sheets of business card stock then I attached a magnet to the back. The post cards are done on Averyâ€s brand of postcard. I bought cute paperclips and attached the magnet to the postcard. I then used just basic white invitation envelopes.

If I had to guess I would say about $35 for the magnet strips, postcard stock, paper clips, envelopes and business cards.

I will attach the postcard but I can't find the magnet/business card file. Let me know if you want to see it and I can scan a copy of it tomorrow.

The magnet went on the left side that is why it is blank/green

Sorry, I guess I did confuse you with someone else. I am in training and flipping back and forth between here and I guess I got confused doing too many things. Sorry!msnwink.gif

Anywho, our friends gave us this really cool place in the area and we got 75 invitations with 75 reply cards and all the envelopes and stuff for $200.

It's actually more than I wanted to spend but, it's ok. Our invites are very plain; didn't want anything too fancy since people throw them away anyway!
OMG, that is funny, my FI wanted that too. But he also wanted to wear no shirt for the wedding, and then tried to say he would wear a tuxedo t-shirt. So I can't give into him, cuz he tries to go crazy! hhaahhaa

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
