Grand Sunset Princess April 2011 Confirmed!!

Recommended Posts

YAY! We finally picked a place and booked it! Ceremony date will be April 12th, 2011 and family and friends have already started reserving their spots!

I'm still feeling a bit stressed, but I think picking the resort is one of the hardest parts (I'm hoping!) ha ha

Any info about Grand Sunset Princess and/or Riviera Maya would be great! I've gotten some really great info from some of you already - thank you so much for helping me make the decision! So appreciated!!

Hi Kristy,

I'm just about to book the same resort for my wedding the following week. I've heard that it is an amazing resort and looks really great. Could you tell me how long it took to hear back with confirmation of your date once you submitted your deposit?

Thanks and congrats.

Thanks Angie & StephyD! We’re really excited! Now time to start looking for a dress J

ccm – my travel agent was nice enough to take care of contacting the resort for me. She and I had a meeting on a Tuesday and my date was confirmed by the next day. GSP said that they would hold the date for a certain amount of time (2 wks I think) which would give us enough time to get the deposit to them. I have the wedding coordinater’s contact info if you need it. Just let me know! Keep me posted on your plans… I don’t know what I’m going to do for a reception yet, What are you thinking about doing?

Kristy - we're thinking of doing the semi-private Thai Beach reception. What are you thinking of doing? I have been dealing with the hotel directly and just sent in our deposit on Friday so we are set to get married on April 18 at 3 pm

I have no idea what I want to do for the reception yet... I like the idea of the Thai restaurant and I know I don't need it to be completely private, so semi-private would work. Does that have a cost per person though? I may be just as happy to have it at a regular a la carte and just make sure that our party is seated together. I'm probably going to end up with around 30 people (give or take), so I guess it all depends on where they can put the group together.

April 18th!! That's exciting! I decided to do my ceremony at 11am and then the reception in the evening. I've had mixed opinions about it, but I think its what will work best for me so that's what I'm doing :) Are you getting married on the beach or in the gazebo? What info have you had to give the wedding coordinator so far? The only things I've passed along through my TA is the ceremony date and time. Do you have a price list for 2011? Thanks for sharing! Its so much fun to plan with other people to talk to who are doing the same kind of thing :)

The Thai restaurant is $45 per adult and $25 per child. April 12 at 11 am sounds like a great day for a wedding, I'm sure you will be happy with whatever time you choose which is all that matters. We are going with the gazebo it looks really nice, what are you choosing? The only info I have given the coordinator is the registration form filled out with our travel dates, date of wedding, time of wedding and the deposit. I need to pick our flowers and reception location next. I don't have the price list for 2011 yet, I'm going to confirm with the coordinator whether I am locked into the 2010 prices since I have put a deposit down already.

This site does have a lot of info for this hotel and it helped me choose it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
