HEY NICOLE,

Great job on considering the Majestic Elegance! We stayed there when we photographed a wedding in DM and the accommodation is AMAZING!

The gazeebo is picture perfect to be wed there...it's overlooking the whole pool area. Or if you decide to get married on the beach...just make sure you use the gazeebo for photos.

Goodluck!

Ron

Hey Everyone,

We are finally decided to get married at Majestic Elegance on December 3d, 2011. We have not booked yet, but I hope to do so in a next week or two. I am planning to do a private reception because we want to incorporate speechs, slide show and music. However, I am quiet disappointed with prices for everything. It's truning out more expensive than I hoped to be. I was wondering if anyone can share some info about centerpieces by there vs bringing your own?

Also, I cannot decide between beach vs Parrot bar or ballroom? Nicole since you already had your wedding there, any feedback you can give about those venues?

What is a basic ceremony decor that we don't have to pay for?

and I cannot decide about having private bar...I think it's very expensive for alcohol. What are some of your opinions about that? I am thinking to bring some of my own booz...or make guests to go to the bar that will be open late...

I would love to hear any suggestions and feedaback about hotel and wedding planning process.

Thank you,

Anna

We are having our ceremony at the gazebo and basic set-up includes white chair covers, white table linens, and a tropical floral centerpiece.  For us, most of their prices are too expensive so we are bringing our own centerpieces.  There's a great thread on here about centerpieces that could give you some inspiration!  You can bring your own liquor and they will give you buckets to keep them cold.  Also, if you want to offer some sort of bartender services you can spend $5pp/hr which includes beer/wine/champagne/sodas (much more reasonable!).  If you rent the wet bar/parrot bar/ or sports bar you can pay a flat $500/hr which includes basic set up, sound system and unlimited domestic drinks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
