Any 2012 Bride/Grooms to be out there??

Recommended Posts

I wanted to start this thread, bc I was part of the 2011 bride thread, however my wedding had to be bumped to January 2012 due to family having issues with our date.....Im sure there are more of you out there just like me and I know how maddening it was to know my wedding wasnt going to be until 2011 and now thats its been moved its even worse! Will my time ever come....lol

I have competed a few DIY projects already and am trying to not buy anything right now bc Im afraid I might change my mind in a years time when its really time to get one this wedding soooo....Im checking the BDW forums to keep up with what is going on and keeping my eyes open for deals and picking the brains of fellow BDW's to make try and make this a success and maybe avoid some of the mishaps some of the ladies have gone thru on here.

So here we are.......lol......monkey.gif

Welcome to the 2012 bride and grooms to be ......

Hi Guys -

I'm glad to see I'm not the only 2012 bride out there! My fiance and I have decided on May 2012 in Cancun, Mexico. We've actually already visited the resort and now, it's just a waiting game for rates to come out.

I hope everyones planning goes well!

Norma--you should check with your resort and see if you can lock in the current rates, as they will surely increase with time. My resort was willing to do this, as I had been in contact with him prior to them announcing the increased 2011 rates...always worth a shot-the worst they can do is say no!

Hi Mallory57 - thanks for the info! I've actually been trying to do this and am also trying to reserve our date. I've been communicating with the wedding coordinator and I think we're able to reserve our date for 2012 but she's not sure about the rates. I have already sent her our deposit to hold our date but am waiting confirmation on that. I've got my fingers crossed!

Where are you getting married?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
