I have been using Yazmin de la Mora for my May 1, 2010 wedding in the RM. I love her, she is so helpful and knowledgeable and has been great negotiating with my hotel (which I chose before finding her, which I DON'T recommend!). She has lots of great ideas and has helped us save a lot of money but by using high quality vendors.

I'm sure this would make things a lot easier. However, we ended up using the travel agent who is booking all the travel along with the on-site wedding coordinator at the resort, and it seems to be working. Of course they have a lot of other clients to tend to, but since we're not paying anything extra for their help, we've been quite pleased.

By the way, are you looking for a resort for the venue? If so, all-inclusives seem to ease a lot of the stress as well as the need for wedding planning since they take care of all of it. We're having ours at Iberostar, and we're really please with them so far. But I also hear the Palaces are amazing (but certainly not cheap). Anything around the Mayan ruins or cenotes would be beautiful as well.

We are not getting married at an all inclusive and while the hotel provides someone to help coordinate, I am thinking I might need someone to help herd the guests from the church, etc.

Has anyone paid for help just for the few days around the wedding? If so, was it helpful?

Iâ€m photographer living in Mayan Riviera. I have shot several weddings of an independent Wedding planner company. I appreciate the professionalism of Luisa and Gelena. And they can propose you really very different location because they are not working for anyone but for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
